I just wanted to start a thread for those who’ve been trying for a little while (or a long while) and it doesn’t seem to be happening. It’s great seeing all the positives on the TTC threads but I’m starting to find it a little disheartening as it seems to be happening quickly for almost everyone but me! Statistics seem to vary but suggest between 60-70% of couples get pregnant within three months. We’ll be heading into cycle 5 shortly TTC our first, both in our early 30s.

Is anyone else in a similar situation?

@MaybeItsJustTimeToStop that's great news, congrats! 🥰 probably because you'd had come to the decision to quit in December. The mind does come into it too, it's mad! Hope it sticks and you have a lovely healthy and anxiety free pregnancy 🥰

Marie1990x · 19/08/2024 12:14

@MaybeItsJustTimeToStop huge congratulations! I love reading stories like this. Keep us updated 🥰

Hi everyone, I’m hoping I can pick some of your brains really. This is my cycle 8 of ttc baby#1 and second cycle using ovulation tests. My cycle is usually pretty regular and has been for the last few years since I’ve been off the pill (usually around 28/29days), the last cycle I had was short (22days) and the cycle before was long (37days). My 22 day cycle was the first time using OPK’s and it showed I ovulated on cycle day 9 (3 days after my period ended), this month I’m on cycle day 16 and I still haven’t got a positive ovulation test. Would you say I’m not going to ovulate this month or is it still too early to tell? Also does anyone know if I don’t ovulate this month/have another unusual cycle length if it’s worth seeing a dr for irregular cycles/not ovulating? - not sure if they will see me because it’s before the 12 months. Any help would be much appreciated. I’ve attached a copy of my graph and ovulation tests for this month so far.

@ImAFluffyBunny I wonder might you have missed it, as you're only testing once a day? Some of your tests are getting there like CD10/11 if you had tested a few times you might have caught it. Did you DTD around these times? If you're irregular defo try and DTD every 2/3rd day to catch it anyway. I would always have tested twice a day and then when found it getting higher would test around 4 times a day to catch the peak!

Marie1990x · 22/08/2024 06:42

@ImAFluffyBunny I agree with Daniki regarding testing more than once and with your CD10. I have irregular cycles though and I get quite “high” OPK’s that I think will then to peak but then nothing and out of the blue later it usually goes a strong peak, so keep testing! Do you have PCOS?
I’m not sure doctors would do much at this stage? I have investigations booked but that’s from ttc for 18+ months and had irregular cycles all my life (from what I remember). I think it’s a bit of a lottery, some doctors might but others may not. Worth a shot though?

ImAFluffyBunny · 22/08/2024 10:33

@Daniki @Marie1990x Ahh I hadn’t been testing more than once a day as I was waiting for a peak, last month it was a very obvious peak and the reading was 1.1 (not sure how accurate the readings are?) but this month has only got as high as 0.44 so far so I guess I was expecting it to get higher than that. We have DTD every 2/3 days so if I’ve missed it on the tests hopefully we’ve still caught it 🤞🏻 I will keep testing though. As far as I know I don’t have PCOS, usually my cycles are pretty regular it’s just been the last few which is why I wasn’t sure if the dr would see me if it’s suddenly changed but will probably see what sort of length my cycle is this month and go from there. Thank you both 😊

Daniki · 22/08/2024 12:13

@ImAFluffyBunny usually if mine got round 40/50 I'd test again as mine were always really low!

RRAEE · 02/09/2024 20:58

@Daniki how are you getting on ? Have you had the transfer yet?

Daniki · 02/09/2024 22:00

@RRAEE not yet, booked in for Friday the 13th! Hopefully it's Goodluck 😂

Marie1990x · 03/09/2024 12:52

@Daniki I’ve been meaning to pop a message on here to see how you’re getting on! Is that when the transfer will be? Eek exciting! Fingers and toes crossed for you 🥰

RRAEE · 03/09/2024 13:11

@Daniki Exciting ! Not long now

And ive been refereed to the fertility clinic now, but theres a 7mnth wait in my area 😕

Daniki · 03/09/2024 13:46

@Marie1990x Yep that will be transfer, v excited and hope it works! 😂🤞🏻 how are you getting on?

@RRAEE jesus that's long! It just adds to the stress, is there any tests or anything your GP could do to get the ball rolling and reduce further waiting time when you get seen?

RRAEE · 03/09/2024 13:51

@Marie1990x they've done everything they can their end shes tried to push it but said itll be anywhere up to 7mnths

I changed my job now aswell as kept putting off hoping that id be pregnant by now.

I tried myo-insitol as well and just mad me ill 😅 had to stop it so nothing i can do other than keep trying until they see me

Marie1990x · 03/09/2024 14:07

@RRAEE I’m in the same position job wise, I literally handed my notice in and accepted a new one last week after putting it off hoping I’d be pregnant by now!

That wait time is ridiculous isn’t it, such a long process through the nhs!

@Daniki so exciting for you! How long will it be after that that you’ll know if it’s worked? Sorry I don’t know a great deal about ivf!

I’m doing okay thank you. I got my blood results back and they are all normal, so very confusing. Just waiting on my ultrasounds now but I called them this morning and I’m still in the queue to be booked in 🙄

RRAEE · 03/09/2024 15:46

@Marie1990x yeah only so long we can keep putting things off.

And sounds good that your bloods are all fine. ! Hopefully your scan goes well. I found it uncomfortable but glad it was done as now know whats wrong. Just wish i didn't have to wait months now. Hopefully wont be that long 🤞🏻

Marie1990x · 03/09/2024 17:09

@RRAEE definitely! Yeah I think for a bit of discomfort it’s worth it to know what the issue is. Have they discussed any kind of plan with you?

I’ve just got a peak OPK so will probs dtd tonight. I did one yesterday and was really faint so hope I haven’t missed it. We’ve been so lapse with it recently so doubt it will do much good but hey ho

RRAEE · 03/09/2024 17:16

@Marie1990x not really just said they wanted all the tests done so they could refer me. I have confirmed PCOS.

The doctor is saw is trying to get things moving as quick as she can so hoping its a case of clomid being prescribed but at this minute i have no idea.

We are still waiting for my partner to get an appointment for his sperm test as thats a wait as well. Literally last thing we have to do.

Daniki · 03/09/2024 18:37

@RRAEE @Marie1990x congrats to you both on new job! I done the same, kept putting off leaving incase I got pregnant, then took the plunge into a horrible new job and left it and then was out work 😂 but it worked out in the end as for such a great job in a school and love it, what's for you won't go by you as they say!
Sorry it's taking so long for you, it's so frustrating because you feel under so much pressure, defo how I felt anyway. Feel a bit more relaxed now it's out of our hands and hoping for the best! Not sure how long they will book for a blood test two weeks after, but I know what I'm like and il testing from the moment I get home 🤣

RRAEE · 03/09/2024 19:27

@Daniki i work with children aswell, it's the best job. Finally have a letter stating i was reffered and if i havent heard by oct i have to call them so 🤞🏻🤞🏻 i get an appointment soon.

Daniki · 03/09/2024 19:32

@RRAEE oh that sounds really promising so hopefully won't be long at all! 🤞🏻🙌

Marie1990x · 03/09/2024 19:47

@Daniki amazing! Pleased you’re happy in your new job and hopefully an impending pregnancy! Yep definitely feeling the pressure since I hit mid 30’s so feel like it’s make or break in every aspect 😂.

@RRAEE really pleased you for your letter. October will be here in a flash so hopefully hear from them soon.

MaybeItsJustTimeToStop · 04/09/2024 13:41

Just an update and then won't post about this again. I had a scan today and the pregnancy is in the right place, and there's a heartbeat. I've also been given progesterone pessaries, although I'm not sure if I'll use them as the guidance on Tommy and the miscarriage association says they only make a difference if there's bleeding, and a history of miscarriage and I haven't had any bleeding so far this time 🤞. They also have me measuring a few days behind but she did also say at this stage when things are so tiny it's not always accurate.

@Daniki I hope everything goes well with your transfer.

@RRAEE that's good that you should have heard something by next month.

All the best to everyone on here, I hope there are some more bfps soon x

Daniki · 04/09/2024 18:38

@MaybeItsJustTimeToStop that's great news! 😊 the progesterone won't hurt, but will help if you don't produce enough to support a pregnancy. The guidance is actually from a positive test or heartbeat detection if you've had a loss before! Delighted for you! Post away I do like to see updates ❤️

SWeal · 07/09/2024 19:37

Hi everyone, i’ve been silently following this thread for what feels like forever (I posted a few months ago I think when it was first started).

This month is cycle 12 TTC, af is due Monday and I already know i’m out. The 1 year mark just feels like such a negative milestone, I feel like i’ve already cried enough so hopefully when af does arrive it won’t be so hard (probably will be though)

I’ve had bloods done, everything it’s normal. My progesterone was borderline low on the first lot but think I done them a couple of days late. Everything was fine on my most recents bloods. OH has a sperm analysis booked in for this weds and then we’ll be referred to fertility specialist - god knows how long the wait is but glad things are moving.

I am just feeling so deflated. I stopped doing opks at 6/7 months TTC because they started causing me so much anxiety and stress. Feel like i’ve tried the ‘give up’ method - and still nothing.

Don’t even know the point of posting this, just need to vent to people that understand. Feeling so sad 😞

Daniki · 09/09/2024 12:18

@SWeal ah sorry to read, it's such a struggle isn't it! And so unfair 🥹 almost worse when there's nothing wrong because you're like well what is it? In regards to your progesterone do you spot before your period? And how long from ovulation day to period? Hopefully you won't have a long wait to get seen 🤞🏻
