I just wanted to start a thread for those who’ve been trying for a little while (or a long while) and it doesn’t seem to be happening. It’s great seeing all the positives on the TTC threads but I’m starting to find it a little disheartening as it seems to be happening quickly for almost everyone but me! Statistics seem to vary but suggest between 60-70% of couples get pregnant within three months. We’ll be heading into cycle 5 shortly TTC our first, both in our early 30s.

Is anyone else in a similar situation?

How's everyone getting on ? 7Dpo today on the second cycle since hycosy . I think if we don't catch this cycle or the next we'll have to seriously consider ivf. Time it ticking . Hope everyone is enjoying the weather ❤️

That's awesome @YaWeeFurryBastard !

Confusedddddddd · 21/07/2024 15:03

@Daniki I might have to quiz you in a couple of months. We're just sorting finances out so we can start sept/oct time

Confusedddddddd · 21/07/2024 15:10

@Favofit were 1dpo. I've kind of lost hope now. I had a scan for a cyst that I had removed a yr ago and grew straight back. The sonographers said I had to wait for scan results which I know isn't a good sign. I'm worried that if it's grown we'll have to have it removed before proceeding with IVF, and potentially damage the ovary further - not that it matters too much as they said they'd only retrieve eggs from my good ovary.

Hopefully the Hycosy has worked for you. We're on our 4th since mine. I heard really good things in terms of them improving fertility.

Daniki · 21/07/2024 15:18

@Confusedddddddd of course! Hopefully the cyst has disappeared, I know I had a biggish one and it disappeared in a few weeks!

Confusedddddddd · 21/07/2024 16:26

@Daniki unfortunately my cyst has been the bane of my life the last few years. The one that was removed was 10cm, they reckon I've had had it from birth, had a scan 4 months after removal and it had grown back to 3.5 cm, another 4 month and it was 4.5cm. They said if it doesn't grown anymore they can still do IVF but they'll only collect eggs from one ovary. My suspicion is that it's grown more.
I'm planning before starting IVF on seeing a private gynaecologist- just need to get hold of my medical records, as they could t tell what type of cyst it was even from the biopsy, and I don't want to do anything about it until I know it's the last time I'll have it removed as I've had a fair bit of pain since my last surgery.

Daniki · 21/07/2024 16:28

@Confusedddddddd god what a pain indeed, would it be worthwhile freezing eggs now incase you need to do IVF in the future? The earlier with the eggs the better the quality. Defo recommend speaking to a private doc as they would be more knowledgeable and have actual time for you!

Confusedddddddd · 21/07/2024 19:42

@Daniki we're going straight to IVF in a couple of months. Unfortunately the issue will be with egg collection so egg freezing wouldn't make a difference. We only want 1 more child. Our DD was conceived fairly easily despite the 10cm cyst but I still had the tube next to my good ovary :(
We think the reason we haven't conceived is because the cyst I have might be stopping the other tube from collecting eggs from the good ovary. But we won't waste anymore time naturally if I did have it removed as we don't know for sure it's the cause.

Daniki · 21/07/2024 20:28

@Confusedddddddd ah I see, why does it have to be so hard! Especially for those who really want it. Wishing you all the luck and ask me questions anytime! I start meds tomorrow 🥳

Goodness , how has the cyst grown again and so much to be point of being obstructive. Our bodies really do strange things sometimes. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you !!! 9DPO today and feel zero symptoms so haven't tested yet. I feel so deflated and exhausted by this whole process. Will be doing a bit more research then contact private clinic asap. Praying we all get our BFP soon ❤️

ImAFluffyBunny · 23/07/2024 21:52

I’ve started using ovulation strips for the first time this month, first day using them yesterday (CD8) so have only tested twice and it already looks like I’ve reached my peak. I’ve now gone down a rabbit hole of early ovulation and how it’s harder to get pregnant etc. Am I overthinking this too soon into my cycle? Has anyone else had this? Not sure if it’s due to my really long cycle last month if it’s thrown this month off 😬🤷🏼‍♀️ (usual cycle is 29days but last month was 37days). This is cycle 7 of ttc for us 🤞🏻

@ImAFluffyBunny this does look positive and its not impossible on cd8

do you have pcos? Opks can be harder if you do as your baseline LH level can be higher and you can have multiple surges.

I have pcos and find opks helpful but when keeping an eye on cervical mucus too

Thank you for taking a look for me. I don’t have pcos (as far as I know). I was surprised it was as strong as it was on the first day I took one. I’ve also been keeping an eye on cervical mucus too but not had EWCM yet this month.

RRAEE · 02/08/2024 16:31

Had all my tests now just waiting for my results. Hopefully all good news 🤞🏻

Oh great @RRAEE hope you hear soon! I start my injections tonight for my IVF cycle, hopefully doing egg collection the 14th or 16th August 🤗

RRAEE · 02/08/2024 19:27

@Daniki they said about a week but hopefully sooner 🤞🏻

And oohh good luck hope all goes well !

YouveGotAFastCar · 02/08/2024 20:23

i hope the results are back quickly, @RRAEE! And good luck with the injections @Daniki!

I got a very faint positive this morning, 10dpo. I’m nervous but excited, especially after June. I was testing negative 8 days later then, and starting bleeding after 10 days, so I’m in for an anxious few weeks, I think. I did have a feeling throughout that the tests weren’t progressing enough, but I wasn’t sure if that was just nerves.

RRAEE · 02/08/2024 20:31

@YouveGotAFastCar hopefully this one is a sticky bean. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 keep us updated on how you get on 🙂
