TTC for those taking longer than average ✨

I just wanted to start a thread for those who’ve been trying for a little while (or a long while) and it doesn’t seem to be happening. It’s great seeing all the positives on the TTC threads but I’m starting to find it a little disheartening as it seems to be happening quickly for almost everyone but me! Statistics seem to vary but suggest between 60-70% of couples get pregnant within three months. We’ll be heading into cycle 5 shortly TTC our first, both in our early 30s.

Is anyone else in a similar situation?

@Daniki so glad your appointment went well 😊. Did she give you any indication what might be suggested? Or is it for the doctor to tell you?

I got my peak yesterday, but then another peak (slightly lighter but definitely still peak) this afternoon. So guess it’s either ovulation today or tomorrow

@Marie1990x time to get down to business! 🤣If slightly lighter I reckon you peaked yest so prob is today! No she didn't say too much just that she'll send the results to the doc then! So will see what he says Monday 🤞🏻

@Daniki I’m still in a cba mood to be honest 😂. We dtd last night and will tonight and maybe tomorrow. But it’s definitely not a 6 day straight sesh like last month 😂. Don’t know why I’m so laid back about it this month, very unlike me.

That’s so good that you don’t have to wait long for a plan from the doctors! Did you go private for these tests? Think I’m in need of a fertility MOT x

@Marie1990x yea we did, we don't qualify for public funding because we already have a child 😩 aw I know that's exactly the mood I was in this month aswell dunno why I'm thinking Im in with a chance to be pregnant 🤣 so defo do tonight and tomorrow to be safe and relax after that 🤣

Have any of you slipped into a pattern of only having sex during the fertile window? After being TTC for so long (now 29 cycles), we quickly fell into the routine of sex becoming functional and only in the fertile window. Don't know how to find the passion anymore. Sex almost feels awkward between us now. 😞

@Daniki I’m sure it will be quicker and probably
more thorough going private anyway?
I know some areas will still do some tests but others won’t, guess it’s a postcode lottery! That’s the reason I haven’t contacted my gp yet as they probably won’t do anything anyway since I already have a child.
Hahah you’re definitely still in with a chance! Heard so many stories of being getting their BFP just as they’re starting their fertility treatment.

@aggiemay24 100%! Not quite so much on a weekend after a wine or 2, but midweek it’s basically an absolute no go unless it’s “the time”

@aggiemay24 yep! I don't know how to really avoid it anymore tbh, but I do find it notes relaxing and less awkward as such if we're away or something. Maybe next cycle could try and plan a few days away around your fertile window?

@Marie1990x I was really hoping to be one of those people 🤣 tested there and negative, I'm 10dpo so not looking good. And iv back pain starting which i get before my period. Only positive is my period is due Monday which is when our consult is so with luck we could get the ball rolling that day!

@MaybeItsJustTimeToStop it was private as we don't qualify for NHS, we already have a DD. I went to a Nuffield Hospital x

My BBT thermometer is broken and ran out of OPK’s, took the last one this morning and it’s nice and light so hopefully ovulation is done. A blessing in disguise regarding the BBT really so I have no option other than wait it out now rather than start driving myself mad 😊

@Marie1990x sounds good! I'd do it tonight to make sure and then you're in the clear! I'm testing like a lunatic, always happens to me 🤣 I'm 10dpo and negative, so I reckon I'm out. But yes all going well we can start straight away!

@Daniki we didn’t even dtd last night, I fell asleep and when my husband tried waking me (I’d told him we needed to), I just had no interest and chose sleep over it 😂. I’m already classing this month as a right off and will start again properly next cycle.

Hahaha I’m with you on the crazy testing. As soon as 7dpo comes around I turn into a testing monster. Did you test again this morning? Will it be 11DPO today?

@Marie1990x the tiredness takes over, my husband does get home late as he farms aswell so sometimes in like feck it I'm sleeping 🤣 defo not a write off as the day before ovulation is the best chance and you done that! Yep 11dpo and negative 🥹 have no spotting tho which I usually get before my period around this time so trying to hold out hope!

@Daniki oh noooo bet that’s frustrating 😂. I feel like they should come to bed at a reasonable time when it’s ovulation time! Tbf the other night DH came to bed then after went back down to finish his nightly routine of getting ready for work for the next day 😂. If he hadn’t of done that I’d have probably gone to sleep and missed it then too.

Oooo well that sounds like a good start! Are you just using cheapies?

I have allowed myself to dream and hope that the Hycosy will give us our break and be the miracle step. I'm trying to be optimistic but I have no symptoms whatever. According to Premom I'm two days late but I think AF is actually due tomorrow . Fingers crossed ❤️

@Marie1990x Yep just cheapies! Of course iv tested like 3 times today 😂 i now know im out but the temptation too much!!

@Favofit don't worry yet, great sign if late! The hycosy is supposed to boost your fertility for 3 months apparently 🤞🏻

I’m 3 or 4 DPO today, and already antsy. Probably doesn’t help that I got my 12 week scan through today for last months chemical… I so want to see two lines again.

@YouveGotAFastCar aw it's so tough those dates 😩 started spotting today which I usually get before AF so I'd say it's in the way! 12dpo and negative 🙈

The temptation is definitely too much isn’t it 😂. I’ve avoided buying any “proper” tests as I would annoy myself by probably wasting it at something ridiculous like 6dpo 🤣. I do have a digital but wont use that unless I ever get a line that could genuinely resemble a BFP.

I’m currently cycle day 8…AF arrived 2 hours arrived I caved and tested 12dpo 🙃
Going into cycle 10 and seriously losing hope now, I know people can take this long, it’s just so hard every single month not falling.

Not using ovulation sticks anymore, just having acupuncture and DTD regularly. I hope everyone is doing ok 💖

I really hope so !!! I woke up in a panic around 3am this morning took a test BFN. Then I had a dream I tested positive and kept testing as I couldn't believe my eyes. But when I woke up at 7am and tested again BFN again 😭 clearly wishful thinking

@Favofit that had happened me so many times with dreams! So mean 🤣 period is starting for me now don't should be here in full flow by tomorrow I reckon!🥴

Hi, hope it's ok to join (aware very late to the party!). We've been trying 18 months and I've found it so, so hard. Never had a whiff of a positive or anything. Surrounded by several friends and colleagues who managed to get pregnant after one or two cycles.
We've both had some basic testing but have to wait until 1st August for our appointment to get the results of those.
I guess looking for some company from others who "get it" as no-one else understands the heartbreak and anger every month when the spotting starts 💔

@Daniki on to the next, I'm mentally exhausted just thinking about it. We're using proceive max and I'm tempted to stop once these packs run out . We're away at the in-laws fertile week , not sure how long I want to keep trying
