I just wanted to start a thread for those who’ve been trying for a little while (or a long while) and it doesn’t seem to be happening. It’s great seeing all the positives on the TTC threads but I’m starting to find it a little disheartening as it seems to be happening quickly for almost everyone but me! Statistics seem to vary but suggest between 60-70% of couples get pregnant within three months. We’ll be heading into cycle 5 shortly TTC our first, both in our early 30s.

Is anyone else in a similar situation?

@RRAEE yep it's the worst! Hoping we done enough this month, we missed out on my peak day 🙄🙈

RRAEE · 18/06/2024 21:05

@Daniki 🤞🏻 for you . Did you make up in the end ?

Hello everyone. I've just found this thread. My hubby and I have been TTC for our first since April 22. 29 cycles. Now in our third year of trying.

We conceived on cycle 16 but it was a loss at 6+5. I was devastated. Nothing since. Started trying age 38. I'll be 41 in August.

When do I give up?

I'm sorry to hear about your loss and what you're going through! I'm in a similar boat, started trying last year for the first time in my life, after my 39th birthday, fell pregnant after only 2 cycles, was in disbelief, unfortunately we lost the little miracle at 9 weeks. Been trying again but I feel like it just isn't going to happen. After the miscarriage my ovulation and body just feels different. I'm at such a loss. We can't afford private treatment and I've been let down similar to you with GPs, I was told to go away and come back in 12 months or after at least another two consecutive miscarriages, then and only then would they consider referring me. I feel like I'm losing so much valuable time, every month, every day. I'm 40 in November and IVF and other NHS treatments have some caps at that age. My heart breaks. I know how you feel, you are not alone 🙏

Thank you so much for your message. I've replied to you privately as my story is a long one. Don't give up hope yet. You'll get there. Have faith. I am hanging on to my future as a mother.
I know what you mean about the NHS though. They make it so difficult and hard. We've just been told we cannot have any assistance until we've been trying for 3 years from our miscarriage. They restart the clock.
My body felt different after the miscarriage, and I think it took a good six months for things to feel normal again. I didn't really think that was normal, until reading that you feel your body is different now.
Sending a lot of love. And have faith for our rainbows x

Daniki · 19/06/2024 10:21

@RRAEE we did thankfully 🤣 so managed it on ovulation day and 2 days prior so hopefully that's enough, he was away last night so maybe tonight altho id say im over the fertile part now.

@aggiemay24 3 years?! Thats insane! Could you afford to have a consult privately perhaps?

RRAEE · 19/06/2024 10:25

@Daniki its always the worst when you have a fall out on O day lol and i always do a few days after to be safe incase i got the O day wrong 😑 not that its helped thus far.

Daniki · 19/06/2024 10:29

@RRAEE I know and this has happened us a few times actually 🙄🤣 it just rages me it is has to be this hard, and there's women out there getting pregnant so easily all the time and then some who don't deserve to be mothers(speaking from my own lived experience) who keep having children to be taken off them 😩

RRAEE · 19/06/2024 10:37

@Daniki same with my Dp mostly silly squabbles over nothing 😅 and i know it's hard. I have friends who have had 2 kids in the space of a year, others with multiple kids and theres a few people i know of who keep having babies who either have them removed or do the bare minimum parenting and show barely any interest in the kids and its sad to see. Theres so many people that would kill to be in their position and have a family but they just waste it.

LindyMoe · 19/06/2024 13:37

Pink mucus 2 days before period. Feeling so low it's unbearable.

Daniki · 19/06/2024 14:10

Yep it's very sad @RRAEE 😭 but we keep going on 🥴

@LindyMoe could be implantation?

Favofit · 19/06/2024 14:22

I'm trying to get a hold of Clomid, has anyone tried or heard of positive news about it ?

LindyMoe · 19/06/2024 14:24

@Daniki I can't even bring myself to hope because I have my period symptoms of lower back pain

Daniki · 19/06/2024 14:31

@LindyMoe 🤞🏻 it's all good!

@Favofit do you have PCOS or trouble ovulating? I was in letrozole & tamoxfin done 4 cycles each on both! I don't have PCOS but as I wasn't getting pregnant it was my next option. Pretty sure I had a chemical 2 cycles ago on tamoxifen.
Worthwhile talking to doc!

CoolSummer89 · 19/06/2024 15:52

Oh my god @aggiemay24 that is so frustrating. Is this in the UK? Which health trust is this? I am furious on your behalf, it feels so heartless.
Have you had any investigations at all? If all seems well with you it might be worth paying for SA for your partner at least.

Please don't give up though! As long as you have periods you are still capable of getting pregnant. People love to scare us with facts and stats. A bit of tough love that I have been telling myself: you can't change what happened in the past, there is no use wishing that you had started earlier, met your partner younger etc. All you can change is what you do going forward, so if that means spending a few hundred pounds to get some tests and feeling a bit more in control of the situation and knowing your options, then it will probably make you feel better. It's not cheap, but neither is raising children.

After 6 weeks of trying to get a referral from his GP my DH finally has an appointment for SA on the NHS for October! I actually don't mind waiting because it's better to be on the system while we keep trying. We might pay for private SA in the meantime, so we can compare results.

My DH had an undescended testicle as a child, which apparently is a big cause of male infertility, so we just want to know how the swimmers are looking and what are options are. He is on a big health kick at the moment, so hoping he can improve over time.

I don't think so but the consultant who did my HSG test earlier this month recommended it due to my age and how long we've been trying. I keep thinking that having only one tube has significantly reduced our chances but he reassured me that's not the case.

Meanwhile I've been feeling hot flushes all day and incredibly congested for a few days which I put down to hayfever but now wondering if maybe it's a possible early pregnancy symptom

Daniki · 23/06/2024 18:42

What dpo is everyone on?! I'm 7dpo tomorrow so the testing urge will have completely taken over and I'll be testing like a lunatic 🤣

MaybeItsJustTimeToStop · 23/06/2024 18:45

Back to CD1, it's so disappointing, has everyone else who's down to one tube had hyscosy? Is there anywhere you'd recommend, I'm currently looking at create fertility and wondering if I should have it done as if the remaining tube isn't working this is all pointless 🤔

RRAEE · 23/06/2024 18:52

Back to CD6 for me

@Daniki stay strong ✨ not long to go til the TWW is over

@MaybeItsJustTimeToStop i would try it 🤷🏻‍♀️ if it helps it helps. 💕

Marie1990x · 23/06/2024 19:03

@Daniki Haha only a few days and you’ll be out of the horrendous wait!

I’m waiting to ovulate. CD13 so might still have a while, depending what my cycle wants to do this month 🙄.

I’m feeling uncharacteristically chilled about it all this month. I think I’ve just got to the point where even I realise it’s pointless getting worked up over it after so long 😅. I’ve not been coming on here as much either.

@MaybeItsJustTimeToStop sorry AF got you 😔. I have no experience with the hycosy, but it could well help and then at least you’ve tried it!

Favofit · 23/06/2024 19:07

I'm down to one tube which I finally got checked this month. Thankfully it's all clear and should work. I'm 10dpo today and got a stark bfn. I'm very disappointed but feel there's still a chance. I would recommend HSG for answers. Wishing you all the best ❤️

Daniki · 23/06/2024 19:19

@MaybeItsJustTimeToStop I say get it done, just so you know! Plus the flushing of the one tube could improve your fertility.

@Marie1990x I know thank god! I actually have my assessment scan on wed when il be 9dpo so I haven't been too obsessive this month, we only had sex a few time cuz I just have not been arsed 🥴

@RRAEE were on the same day!

@Favofit still in, I didn't get a positive with my son until I was 12dpo!

Marie1990x · 23/06/2024 20:58

@Daniki ahhh is it on Wednesday! Best of luck, let us know how you get on 🤞🏻. What will they be doing at the assessment out of interest?

I feel you, I’ve little interest in even dtd at the moment. With DD we only dtd the day of peak and day after, so feel like that will be what we’re doing this time because, as bad as it sounds, I just cba at the moment 😂. So romantic.

@Favofit definitely still time for a BFP. I didn’t get a “proper” line until 12dpo.

MaybeItsJustTimeToStop · 26/06/2024 12:33

@daniki and @RRAEE I hope your appointments go well. @Favofit did you do your hycosy through the NHS or private? I rang create yesterday, the website lists hycosy as £495 but they won't let me book that I need an initial appointment and scan for £200 then need to start a treatment plan, I can't just refer for an assessment and hycosy so not sure where I should go in terms of private and imagine it'd be a long wait on the NHS. It's a shame they don't offer a follow up a couple of months after removing a tube where they could check.

RRAEE · 26/06/2024 13:13

@MaybeItsJustTimeToStop I'm still waiting for mine. But thank you.

And jeez that sounds expensive 😮 but you are right the waiting lists are ridiculous for everything these days. Id still try NHS to see options and how long it would be tho. You never know. But if it's your only option and its not possible to wait then id go for it. Sucks that everything is so expensive. 🫤

Daniki · 26/06/2024 16:59

So appointment went well. Uterus looked fine, lining was nice and thick, and my right ovary had 17 follicles and my left had 4. She said tho my right prob makes up for it as it's higher than average? I tested this morning (9dpo) and negative, and was hoping she might see something on the scan 🤣 we have our consult with the doc on Monday to run through our options then!
