I just wanted to start a thread for those who’ve been trying for a little while (or a long while) and it doesn’t seem to be happening. It’s great seeing all the positives on the TTC threads but I’m starting to find it a little disheartening as it seems to be happening quickly for almost everyone but me! Statistics seem to vary but suggest between 60-70% of couples get pregnant within three months. We’ll be heading into cycle 5 shortly TTC our first, both in our early 30s.

Is anyone else in a similar situation?

@Marie1990x not due for another 10 days so trying to keep busy. DIY this weekend!

how many dpo do you think you may be? Or are you not sure because of the OPKs?

Marie1990x · 31/05/2024 21:41

@CoolSummer89 DIY should definitely take your mind off things 😂.

according to one app I’m 2dpo and the other 3dpo, but I’m not 100% confident the peak was real so I’m basically in the dark. I’ll see what my bbt says in the morning, if it’s still high then I’ll be more inclined to trust my “peak”

LindyMoe · 31/05/2024 21:59

So we did the exseed thing - thanks for the tip, you ladies are just amazing support.

Turns out DH sperm is normal! The relief is frigging high lemme tell you. Also crazy seeing his sperm on camera, to think those tiny things create a person.

Anyway, gonna wait a few days to build it back up and then it's shag week.

I feel this sense of hope that it will eventually happen. Feel so bloody renewed. Again thank you for the tip!

RRAEE · 03/06/2024 07:49

Slowly approaching the dreaded TWW 😪

Hows everyone getting on ?

Daniki · 03/06/2024 08:25

AF came yest, so onto the next cycle we go! I don't think it's going to happen for us without help I think we'll defo need IVF😣 think we'll try naturally this month as we're getting prepared for consultation with IVF clinic and I need a scan to check my ovaries follicles etc so not much point in taking the tamoxifen to stimulate my follicles!

Marie1990x · 03/06/2024 08:34

@RRAEE when are you due to ovulate (if you haven’t already)? Fingers crossed!

@Daniki oh no I’m sorry to see AF arrived. That’s great that you have a plan in place with the IVF clinic.

I’ve already lost hope this cycle. My BBT has dropped below the cover line at 5/6dpo

Daniki · 03/06/2024 08:36

@Marie1990x oh no, it might rise again tho? I never understood monitoring the temps tbh! Yea iv just booked the ultrasound there for the end of the month when I finish up school for the holidays so at least I won't have to be taking time off work!

Marie1990x · 03/06/2024 08:42

@Daniki thats amazing, not long to wait at all! Hopefully it gets the ball rolling and it happens quickly for you 🥰. Even better that you will be off work too.

I’m not sure about it either, it can dip at implantation, but this is too early. Will just have to see if it rises again tomorrow or not I guess

RRAEE · 03/06/2024 08:48

@Marie1990x either today or tomorrow. So not long now.

How are you getting on ?

Marie1990x · 03/06/2024 09:11

@RRAEE ahh good luck! Have you tried anything different this month?

I’m getting on okay thank you. The dip this morning threw me and thought maybe it could be an early implantation dip for a split second. Stupidly turned psycho and did a test but obviously nothing 😂. The serial line eyes in me thought there could be something, but it’s impossible

RRAEE · 03/06/2024 09:29

@Marie1990x not this month. Just taking all my vitamins and trying to eat healthier like normal. Will probably try something different next month if this isn't my month like pre seed (seen that mentioned a few times) and then after that ill be going to the doctors.

We've all been there 😅 I've stepped away from all the tests as it was causing me stress so hoping thats helped a bit.

Hopefully you get your BFP soon 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Marie1990x · 03/06/2024 09:40

@RRAEE yeah I’ve seen pre seed been mentioned a few times too.

Haha definitely trying to step away from the tests until at least Thursday now. I was doing the opk with how much they’ve fluctuated and couldn’t help myself 😂

Confusedddddddd · 03/06/2024 10:05

@Marie1990x it might be line eyes for me too but I see a second line. Though it's way too early and Femometer tests aren't that sensitive.

adventurer99 · 03/06/2024 10:18

Fresh red blood today, right on cd21.

Time to push for low progesterone tests 😪😩

Haha thanks for making me feel slightly less crazy. It definitely doesn’t mean anything but satisfied my urge 😂. They worked well for me last pregnancy, but that was 9/10dpo so we will see what the week ahead brings x

Confusedddddddd · 03/06/2024 11:37

@adventurer99 do you spot every cycle? I'm going down the low progesterone route at the moment. I definitely ovulate (and I definitely feel it a few hours after peak opk) but progesterone at 7dpo last month was 18pmol so low. Doing a repeat test this cycle. I don't get any spotting but luteal phase is just 10-12 days.

Mostly yup, and sometimes it can be really really fresh red blood quite heavy out the blue and have been caught a few times in awkward situations because of it.

I've been to the doctors several times and fobbed off with 'nothing wrong' but since tracking I feel like I now know what it is.

Ordered some PDG tests on Amazon that should be here today so will be able to test on day 21. They're not cheap 😩 but at least I can take results to the docs.

Have you started the process with docs? x

MaybeItsJustTimeToStop · 03/06/2024 13:12

@adventurer99 back in 2022 I used medichecks for blood tests when we started to do some investigations, I think they were about £50 a test but they were quick with results and one of their Dr's review your results and explain them if you start looking down that route at something to take to the GP.

@LK2610 congratulations 🎊

@curliegirlie it's really demoralising isn't it, it's just so frustrating when it's out of your control. I even had some counselling and the conclusion was my head and heart aren't aligned, my head is ready to stop but emotionally I'm not. I even talked through how the family I pictured can now never exist I pictured a 3 year age gap, it'd now be at least 6 years, and 3 years of limbo is draining as everyone on here knows x

Confusedddddddd · 03/06/2024 14:08

@adventurer99 in terms of starting process two cycles ago I bought the strips off Amazon which came up negative (no line is a positive, I had a faint line). I had a fertility assessment shortly after and I asked about hormone testing to which the drs response was "you have regular periods therefore your hormones are fine". At the time I had been suffering from terrible night sweats for the last 6 months so decided to buy a Randox blood test, which showed my progesterone as 18pmol which is in the normal range but I've read that it needs to be 30pmol to confirm ovulation (I know I ovulate so it's simply low).
I finally phoned GP asking to test - I wanted to retest anyway as I have a good and a "bad" ovary and I ovulated from my bad ovary last cycle so thought it'd be best to retest after ovulating from the good one. I had that blood test today so should know more in the next few days.

Not sure what next steps will be after that if it's still low. I've read about letrozole (I don't think I can take as I have a propensity to grow cysts), hcg trigger, and progesterone pessaries, but have no idea who would prescribe as fertility clinic at the hospital don't seem to be interested in hormones, just want me to do IVF. I'm also under Gynae for cysts and endocrinology for a prolactinoma so maybe they might be able to help. On the plus side my night sweats gotten better after starting CoQ10 and omega 3 2 cycles ago so those were clearly needed - I'm wondering if they could have had an impact on progesterone too.

Ooh @Marie1990x I can see a faint line! You prob don't know what dpo are you, you had quite a few high days didn't you? 🤣 fingers crossed this is the start of it!

Hahaha yeah my dpo is anyone’s guess really 😂. I think it’s 100% just an indent on that one. Will try hold off a few days 🤥.

But I feel like AF is coming and given the cycle I’ve had I wouldn’t be surprised 😂

Daniki · 03/06/2024 16:21

@Marie1990x ya never know! Get the boots early response I always find them good and accurate!

This is incredibly helpful and so nice to hear not the only one as you don't see many posts regarding this.

Wish you all the luck for your results and please do keep us updated 💛

I've just ordered the vitamins also so thank you! 🤞🏼

Nervous and excited for the pdg tests to arrive!

I’ve promised myself I’m not going to buy any more tests unless I definitely think something could be there on a cheapie. I have a cb digital and cb 6 days early that I’ll use if I’m fairly confident. I’ve wasted too much money on them in the past 😂

Amazon tests come, and although meant to do in morning and it's negative now so under 5 ug/ml 😩 guessing it'd be an even stronger line in the morning.

Will be calling the docs tomorrow 😪
