I just wanted to start a thread for those who’ve been trying for a little while (or a long while) and it doesn’t seem to be happening. It’s great seeing all the positives on the TTC threads but I’m starting to find it a little disheartening as it seems to be happening quickly for almost everyone but me! Statistics seem to vary but suggest between 60-70% of couples get pregnant within three months. We’ll be heading into cycle 5 shortly TTC our first, both in our early 30s.

Is anyone else in a similar situation?

Hi
Can I join this rubbish group that nobody wants to be in. Our situation is really similar to @Favofit.

We're TTC number 2. Started trying May 2021, a couple of months before DC1s 3rd birthday. Early miscarriage October 2021, started some investigations July 2022, day 3 and day 21 bloods normal, dh booked in for SA September 22, however got bfp start of September 22 so cancelled that. Sadly that was ectopic and had to have emergency surgery so lost a tube. Started ttc again Christmas 22 once fully recovered from surgery.

We've decided not to go down the ivf route and keep saying we'll stop trying, but every month is the heartbreak of af arriving and then we decide 'one more month'. I'm 39, dh is 46. This month we've switched to procieve max which in all honesty make me gag, it tastes awful! And I've just got a fertilily cup to try as well.

curliegirlie · 29/05/2024 17:42

@MaybeItsJustTimeToStop so much of that resonates with me. I've just worked out that I'm cycle bloody 29 TTC #3. I had a surprise pregnancy then early MC in March 2022, actively TTC since, CP last November, and then today at 13dpo, at the same time as I've been bleeding I've just got a squinter on a savers test 😩. I'm 41 (42 in July), DH is 45. It's so not happening for us. Like you, each month I say it's going to be the last. I haven't got the strength to keep on going, but also no strength to stop. It's so fucking cruel.

What’s too much exercise when TTC?

I’ve entered a triathlon to take my mind off things and because training/having a goal helps me to de stress. I’m now wondering if that was silly of me.

It requires around 12-14 hours of exercise a week. Do you think that’s too much? It’s what my body is used to as I’ve been doing it for a couple of years. I’d be sad to give it up but I’ve started to do some reading and there seems to be evidence that it could be too much.

I have no one I can talk to about this, what do you folks think? Have you had any advice about exercising while ttc? I’ve had conflicting opinions from personal trainers x

LK2610 · 29/05/2024 19:26

Welcome to the club no one wants to be in @MaybeItsJustTimeToStop 😂

I’m really sorry for your losses and hoping luck goes your way very soon 🥰 x

RRAEE · 29/05/2024 20:18

@LK2610 its a hard one as everything is always conflicting. Some places/people say exercise helps and others say it doesn't.

I know people that are fitness mad and have conceived fine 🤷🏻‍♀️

Speak with your gp as they'll be able to help/ advise you best. But i would just do what you are comfortable with just don't over do it too much.

I think its more about starting it when trying to conceive as extra stress on the body but if your body is used to it then i don't see why it would cause any problems.

Like i said I would 100% consult your Gp if you are concerned.

Marie1990x · 29/05/2024 20:55

@LK2610 I think if it’s something you’ve always done and used to then from what I understand it is fine? Of course I’m no expert, but that’s what I gathered.
I need some of your energy, I struggle with a quick job a few times a week let alone what you’re doing 😂

Marie1990x · 29/05/2024 20:56

Out of interest - does anyone check their cervix? I used to do it when ttc my first and just remember being completely baffled by it.
Cut to now and I’ve just checked it and it’s very high but firm (I think), from what dr google says then maybe I haven’t ovulated after all 😣

LK2610 · 29/05/2024 21:05

Thanks @RRAEE @Marie1990x to be honest it’s my coping mechanism for work stress and I meet friends for a bike ride and cake on a Saturday so that makes up 5 or 6 of the hours. I’m still waiting on my blood tests from my doctor so I’ll ask when I go in for those x

LK2610 · 29/05/2024 21:06

Yes I do sometimes @Marie1990x but I’m trying to do it less cos I overanalyse it. Mines soft and high when I’m ovulating and then hard. But I’ve read that it’s not a reliable indicator x

LK2610 · 29/05/2024 21:08

No scrap that, it’s usually soft when I get my LH high but not always in the days after x

LK2610 · 29/05/2024 21:09

In short, I wouldn’t worry about it too much as from I’ve read on here it’s not a reliable indicator of ovulation or conception x

Marie1990x · 29/05/2024 21:44

@LK2610 ah thank you. I’m just going to leave it alone now 😂. I won’t check it next month as it just confuses me.

I don’t think we’re going to get to dtd tonight. DD isn’t well so no doubt it will either be a very long night up with her, or her in our room 😣

Edited

@LK2610 if it's something you've always done and body is used to then there is no problems with it. It's more so taking up exercise you haven't done/not used to as that's more dangerous!

LK2610 · 30/05/2024 10:19

This morning I was suddenly wide awake at 6am which is not like me at all. I’ve been feeling a bit odd the last 2 days, so I tested thinking I’m 99% sure it’d be negative

LK2610 · 30/05/2024 10:26

I won’t share anymore about the test as I know it’s annoying seeing them. I just wanted to share it here to say there is hope, I was so, so sure I was out this month and my symptoms are exactly the same as AF besides the last couple of days x

Oh my gosh congratulations!! I was exactly the same re symptoms and convinced I was out! Really thrilled for you and can’t wait to see you (and hopefully others from this thread) on the due in Feb thread!

For everyone else, much as I know it’s really hard to keep seeing people get positive tests I really hope this thread does give some hope to people that it can still happen even if you’ve been trying a while. Not everyone gets pregnant in a couple of months but that doesn’t mean it won’t happen 💐

Yay congrats @LK2610 🤩 delighted for you!!

I am in limbo as I am using the trigger shot and tested this morn with FMU & then SMU and I think the second one is darker so hoping that means I'm pregnant and it's not the trigger 🙈

If I post the pic can yous look at it and see if the bottom test looks darker? My head is driven demented with TTC 🤣

RRAEE · 30/05/2024 10:46

@LK2610 congratulations 💐

Marie1990x · 30/05/2024 10:47

@LK2610 AMAZING NEWS! Congratulations! Hopefully the BFP’s will keep coming.

What dpo are you again?

@Daniki post the pic ☺️. I’m not clued up on the whole trigger shots etc though, but we can be another pair of eyes

Daniki · 30/05/2024 10:51

So this is it, I have been testing the trigger out the top test is 7dpt(6dpo) and so on til today 11dpo, I tested 3 times a day for 9/10dpt and twice this morning for 11dpt. I think the bottom test looks darker than the second last one but I could be seeing things. I have some AF cramps too 😩🙈

emmatcc1 · 30/05/2024 10:58

@LK2610 Congrats!!🎉🎉 what a surprise this must have been. How many dpo?
@Daniki The bottom test is darker than the two above it. I heard these orange premom tests aren’t good with progression and take a while to show positive. Maybe try a different test?

Marie1990x · 30/05/2024 11:01

@Daniki I definitely see that the most recent one is darker. Exciting!!!
When would the trigger shot be undetectable? Sorry if that’s not the correct term, I don’t know much/anything about it

Daniki · 30/05/2024 11:01

@emmatcc1 yea I might go and get the boots earlys after work! I have found that they're not the best, but so cheap 🤣 the two above it was FMU today and last night so hoping the trigger has left and hopefully true hcg is starting to pick up 🤞🏻

YaWeeFurryBastard · 30/05/2024 11:02

@Daniki that looks darker to me too so everything crossed!!

It depends they say can last up to 14 days but I had the half dose so should really be gone by 9/10 days after! 🤞🏻
