TTC for those taking longer than average ✨

I just wanted to start a thread for those who’ve been trying for a little while (or a long while) and it doesn’t seem to be happening. It’s great seeing all the positives on the TTC threads but I’m starting to find it a little disheartening as it seems to be happening quickly for almost everyone but me! Statistics seem to vary but suggest between 60-70% of couples get pregnant within three months. We’ll be heading into cycle 5 shortly TTC our first, both in our early 30s.

Is anyone else in a similar situation?

I'm 7dpo today. Dying to test. Sitting on my hands!

Would you trust the app and go with this being a peak? It’s definitely slightly stronger than yesterday’s but not as dark as they usually get (with other tests). It was very diluted pee, kicking myself that I still did the test and now I’m out until the evening with no more on me 🙄

I would be covering all bases and staying in the bed for the next few days! It's quite dark so I'd say so, see how the next few tests go if they lighten

@Daniki haha yeah we managed to dtd again last night, so that’s 4 nights on the bounce. I hope it’s the peak as I don’t know how much longer I can last bd-ing every night 😅.
Will test again when I’m home. Both my apps have changed ovulation day to tomorrow after inputting that (previously said 3rd June 🤞🏻🙌🏼)

@Marie1990x 🤣 on the bounce made me lol! Aw we be the same, can't wait then for it to be over. Don't know how anyone can be arsed doing it all the time 🙈🤣

@Daniki haha I know! We started just dtd when we wanted to, but since I saw my OPK’s that has gone out of the window and my laid back approach has shattered 😂

Hello hello 👋 I'd like to join the group. I was on some of the 'main' threads when first started ttc a few months ago and recognise a lot names including yours @YaWeeFurryBastard - congratulations!!! So excited for you.

I'm nearing the end of cycle 5. 8-10dpo I think though I didn't track bbt or opks this cycle so not entirely sure. Think I'll look into day 3 blood tests next cycle if I don't conceive and for referral the cycle after that as I'm over 35.

I’ve just got my day 21 blood results and my progesterone is borderline low (27.6) however AF has just arrived - meaning they would’ve been done on day 20 not day 21 (not sure how much of a difference that makes). Feeling really rubbish as usual on CD1, going into cycle 9 now and thinking it’s not ever gonna happen. Struggling to stay positive 😕

I’ll take that! Sorry for all the opk pics, I’m just very confused but happy to have one at a “normal” time in my cycle 🤞🏻

I’m currently in the TWW in cycle number 13, awaiting appt from our local fertility clinic. My partner is 39 and i’m 31. I’ve got a high FSH (above 15). Really struggling with the constant disappointment and the feeling that everybody gets pregnant so easily!! I swear there weren’t so many people in my life pregnant before I started trying 😂 Sending all the hope to everyone xx

@Marie1990x yay for your peak, and we're cycle buddies! I got mine today and ovulated at exactly 6:07pm because I get terrible pain from ovulation!

@Confusedddddddd haha I love how precise your timing is! Yey glad we’ve got company for this dreading TWW!

One app has put my ovulation to yesterday and the other today. So either 0 or 1 dpo lol.

I guess dtd one last time tonight and that’s as much as I can do to have a chance this cycle! If 6 consecutive nights doesn’t cut it I don’t know what would 🤣

That’s a solid effort, we can only usually manage 3 days in a row 👏

Oh wow @Marie1990x we only manage every other day at most! We did conceive once (ectopic) from 3 days before though so not too worried.

@LK2610 @Confusedddddddd it’s definitely not like this every month, no where close 😂.

It just so happened we’d already dtd Friday, Saturday and Sunday not expecting a positive opk for another week. I was thinking of skipping tonight but know I’d regret it so need to plough on 😅

We did a home sperm test and it said low. Was very surprised as our son is 4.

Anyway now I'm worried it will never happen and struggling to continue if im being honest 🥹

@LindyMoe I don't trust the home tests very much. Do you have the option of getting it tested at a fertility clinic? They might have some ideas on improving it. New sperm is made every 3 months.

Going to do the exseed I saw someone suggested - no harm in two tests I guess.
Will also get us both on coq10 because why not.

I do have a bottomless brunch coming up though... Am I allowed to have a few before we start trying again? Fertile window opens the day after... 🙈
