I just wanted to start a thread for those who’ve been trying for a little while (or a long while) and it doesn’t seem to be happening. It’s great seeing all the positives on the TTC threads but I’m starting to find it a little disheartening as it seems to be happening quickly for almost everyone but me! Statistics seem to vary but suggest between 60-70% of couples get pregnant within three months. We’ll be heading into cycle 5 shortly TTC our first, both in our early 30s.

Is anyone else in a similar situation?

@mamataylor that looks like a positive to me! Tentative congrats. I’m going to test on Friday at 9dpo but I’m not expecting anything tbh.

@mamataylor I am so sorry for your loss. It does knock you sideways. On this photo I didn't even need to zoom into the picture, the line is clear as day ❤️

I am hanging in there and hoping for the best.

Marie1990x · 21/05/2024 16:45

@mamataylor I’d definitely say that is positive! Not even a squinter, especially for 9dpo!
Tentative congratulations 🤍✨

emmatcc1 · 21/05/2024 16:46

@mamataylor That is a great line for 9dpo and not fmu.
Congratulations 🎉

Shortcake06 · 21/05/2024 17:02

@mamataylor its so hard after loss, I understand that completely. But that’s a very clear line 🥰 congratulations xxx

@mamataylor defo a line and not a squinter either, great for 9dpo! 🥰

I think I'm out already 😣 I’m 4dpo and I’ve got period cramps. This happens every cycle - exactly the same pattern. I get period pains from around 4 days after ovulation that last until maybe 7dpo, then I get nothing until AF arrives. It’s so strange. It’s like my AF symptoms happen 1 week early and then I get 1 week of nothing. I don’t understand what my body is doing from a biological point of view. I’m starting to think there’s something wrong. I don’t know anyone else who gets really early period cramps like that. It’s not later ovulation as that’s happened already confirmed by LH peak and it’s not implantation as 4dpo is too early and this pain happens every month. Anyone got any ideas 🤔 x

LK2610 · 21/05/2024 21:01

@mamataylor tentative congratulations to you 🥰

@mamataylor tentative congratulations to you 🥰

Thank you ♥️♥️

YaWeeFurryBastard · 21/05/2024 21:18

@LK2610 sorry to hear that. I’m 6dpo and I get the same, cramping, nausea?! tiredness every cycle from about this time, which then disappears by about 9dpo. I assume it’s my body responding to the rise in progesterone? But it absolutely sucks as I’m always thinking oh is that a pregnancy symptom. I have it again so no doubt I’m also out for this cycle ☹️.

OP posts:
emmatcc1 · 21/05/2024 22:43

@LK2610 It’s most likely cramping from a hormonal change.

Confusedddddddd · 22/05/2024 00:09

Congrats @mamataylor!

Sorry I'm not MN too often while between AF and ovulation.

LK2610 · 22/05/2024 21:00

Ah that makes sense @emmatcc1 @YaWeeFurryBastard I’ve been assuming the cramps are my uterus getting ready for AF. Maybe there’s a small bit of hope yet. Hope everyone’s hanging in there today x

YaWeeFurryBastard · 23/05/2024 07:18

8dpo and BFN, don’t know why I do this to myself 🤪

OP posts:
YaWeeFurryBastard · 23/05/2024 08:36

Ah I feel so down about it all, I don’t think it’s happened again this month, I usually come on my period at 11dpo (Sunday) although apparently the length of my luteal phase is nothing to worry about.

I’m going to try and book in for a scan and Hycosy if it doesn’t work next cycle. After that we’ll be truly in the unexplained category which is so frustrating! Probably give it til the end of the year and then start looking at ivf, we’ll have to pay as I believe there’s a 3 year wait for unexplained in my area, plus they only offer one round!

RRAEE · 23/05/2024 09:46

@YaWeeFurryBastard 8dpo is still a bit early. Test again in a few days. And same here i feel like its never gunna happen sometimes i wanna give up to avoid all the heartache. It sucks. Heading back in to fertile week next week and already feel like its not gunna happen. Hoping my mind set changes back to being positive soon 🙃

Hope this month is your month ✨

Im thinking about getting the tests aswell especially with being early 30s dont want to leave it to late and have no chance at all

Sorry for the emotional barf today, just needed to get it out .

Hope everyone is doing well.

Daniki · 23/05/2024 10:19

@YaWeeFurryBastard I always cave at 7dpo, it's just so tempting! But 8dpo is still quite early so don't lose hope yet. I always feel the exact same way when I test early and it's negative tho!

@RRAEE I'd defo recommend getting tests done, if anything just for your peace of mind! Plus if there is any issues you're still young enough to get it sorted and feel like you're not wasting time? That's the feeling I have now that iv wasted time 😏 plus we all have those months so emotionally barf all ya want! Good to let it out somewhere 😊

YaWeeFurryBastard · 23/05/2024 12:32

Thanks @RRAEE @Daniki I’ll do another test in the morning and one on Saturday, if not onto the next cycle.
