TTC for those taking longer than average ✨

I just wanted to start a thread for those who’ve been trying for a little while (or a long while) and it doesn’t seem to be happening. It’s great seeing all the positives on the TTC threads but I’m starting to find it a little disheartening as it seems to be happening quickly for almost everyone but me! Statistics seem to vary but suggest between 60-70% of couples get pregnant within three months. We’ll be heading into cycle 5 shortly TTC our first, both in our early 30s.

Is anyone else in a similar situation?

@RRAEE thank you for such kind words. I’ve lost the ability to get excited now x

RRAEE · 17/05/2024 20:11

@Shortcake06 oh hun, I'm sorry you feel like this 😕 I'm sure it'll work out. Always here if you need to offload 💕

Daniki · 18/05/2024 07:42

@Shortcake06 try not get worried, all tests have different sensitivities so will look different. When pregnant with my son I didn't get strong lines until I was like 6 weeks and didn't get a BFP until I was 12dpo and it was a squinter! 🤞🏻

Shortcake06 · 18/05/2024 08:11

Thanks all for your kind words.
TTC unsuccessfully for months and a miscarriage really affects you.
I am now 13dpo according to apps which is late for my period for me. I’ve attached my FRER and cheapie from last night and this mornings cheapie. I feel my tests by now were much stronger with my first child so I am not getting my hopes up at all and still feel my period could arrive at any minute.

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend ahead xx

@Shortcake06 congratulations! This is amazing and I really truly hope it’s a sticky one for you.
There’s no denying those lines. Try not to compare to your previous pregnancy, maybe you implanted later than you did previously? xxx

YaWeeFurryBastard · 18/05/2024 09:00

@Shortcake06 congratulations ✨ I can understand why you’re anxious but I don’t think that looks like anything to worry about

@Marie1990x thank you, that’s always possible! Every cycle is different.
@YaWeeFurryBastard thank you. It’s so hard not to be anxious 😞

i am just going to take deep breaths and take it one day at a time. I’m sorry for being “that person” on this board after moaning about my months of trying 🫣
With my miscarriage my lines got strong but I never got a “dye stealer”.

Don’t worry about being that person! Honestly it’s nice to see another person who hasn’t had the easiest ride getting a positive test ☺️✨. Could you remind us of your story to give us some hope?

@Shortcake06 not at all, the page is great to vent on, after TTC for a while and especially after a miscarriage. Unless you've had one no one understands the anxiety of pregnancy after loss unfortunately x

Shortcake06 · 18/05/2024 11:58

@YaWeeFurryBastard of course. It took 6 cycles to conceive my first child after coming off the pill. I had a surprise pregnancy last summer which resulted in a miscarriage at six and a half weeks. We have been trying consistently since then with not a whisper of a hint of a line. This is cycle 9 since the miscarriage.
Definitely being realistic that this is very early and very faint and could be one of these chemical pregnancies that people suffer from. One day at a time!!

LK2610 · 18/05/2024 14:12

Best of luck @Shortcake06 it’s great to see one of us get a positive test. I hope it sticks for you 🥰

Shortcake06 · 19/05/2024 09:38

Good morning

Pretty sure I am out as I have repeated my FRER and it’s not any darker at all. So disappointing after taking 9 months to get here but I never let myself get my hopes up. I’ll keep you all updated if you wish x

Really sorry to hear than, it’s utterly shit. I went out last night and got absolutely shit faced (I don’t usually drink, particularly not in the TWW) so pretty sure that’s totally ruined my chances this month!

Shortcake06 · 19/05/2024 13:05

@YaWeeFurryBastard It’s completely and utterly shite honestly. I’m going to make a GP appointment on Monday so that I can get my hormone levels checked and so my second loss is on my records.

i hope you had an amazing time last night. Sometimes you just need to let off steam. And honestly don’t even be hard on yourself for that. You deserve to have fun and just think how many babies are born as a result of drunken sex! X

Marie1990x · 19/05/2024 13:46

@Shortcake06 really sorry to see this 😔

LK2610 · 19/05/2024 18:47

Sending you virtual hugs @Shortcake06

RRAEE · 19/05/2024 19:11

@Shortcake06 hope you get answers soon. Sending hugs 🤗. Take care of yourself 💕 xx

Were TTC for our first, I'm 39 :( had a miscarriage at 9 weeks in February, started TTC again in April, so currently on cycle #3, 8dpo and another BFN today, so cycle #4 here we come...

YaWeeFurryBastard · 20/05/2024 12:48

@Shortcake06 thinking of you today, I hope you’re ok 💐

@YaWeeFurryBastard thats so kind thank you.
I am strangely ok and calm. Very well and truly on CD1 now and having a big glass of wine tonight.
Ready for the next cycle now.
Hope everyone is good and hope we all see some positive tests soon 🥰

mamataylor · 21/05/2024 16:35

Ladies, please help!! I stupidly tested this afternoon and this line came up after 3 minutes!! I’m 9dpo (I think) and I only tested as my boobs are so sore! All I’ve been saying for the last 10 minutes is ‘omg, omg’. I’m trying not to get my hopes up x

Do you think so? I never tested early with my first baby or the baby we lost last November but since experiencing a miscarriage I can’t help myself and it’s a completely different experience when you’ve suffered a loss.

Hope you’re doing ok? X
