TTC for those taking longer than average ✨

I just wanted to start a thread for those who’ve been trying for a little while (or a long while) and it doesn’t seem to be happening. It’s great seeing all the positives on the TTC threads but I’m starting to find it a little disheartening as it seems to be happening quickly for almost everyone but me! Statistics seem to vary but suggest between 60-70% of couples get pregnant within three months. We’ll be heading into cycle 5 shortly TTC our first, both in our early 30s.

Is anyone else in a similar situation?

@Daniki i got mine with this cold/flu its not that bad now but it was/is more of a tickly cough. Its kept me awake for past few nights absolutely shattered 😅 your cough sounds way worse, bless yah.

@RRAEE the tickly cough is so annoying it's like there's not relief! 🥲

So I'm getting stabbing/ pinching type pain tonight on the side i ovulated from (left) but I'm 11DPO so don't know what to think really. 🤔 it's probably a cyst knowing my look.

How is everyone else getting on ?

@RRAEE are you planning to take a test or just waiting for your period?

Ive had my OPK peak so should be ovulating today/tomorrow, feeling optimistic for this cycle which probably means it won’t happen 😂

@YaWeeFurryBastard I'm going to wait till I'm late. So a couple more days yet.

How is everyone getting on?
I have stupidly caved and tested early 🙈 and feel like I can see a very faint line. I shouldn’t have done it to myself. Period due tomorrow. Sore boobs and back cramps which are usual period symptoms but were also my early pregnancy symptoms.

AF has just finished for me. Not going into this cycle very positively, so think we’re doing to dial back with the obsessive testing and tracking, and just DTD purely for us and not just when we “need” to.

The only thing I’m going to do is focus on being more active. The miserable weather we’ve had made me very lazy, so now it’s finally nice out I’m going to start running very slow jogging again.

Has anyone tried anything differently this cycle?

I’ve also got my peak and mild ovulation cramps so it’s crunch time for us. Good luck @RRAEE and @Shortcake06. That sounds like a sensible plan @Marie1990x ❤️

Going to test Saturday. Had on and off stabbing pains on side i ovulated on for a few hours Tuesday and a a little bit yesterday morning but started have some slight cramping later in the day so i think AF will show some point tomorrow. Still have a bit of a cold as well 🙃

Hey everyone ☺️ hope you don’t mind if I join?! I was on cycle 9 ttc #1 but AF has just arrived for me today so on to cycle 10 😔 I’m 33 and partner is 40. Was actually feeling pretty relaxed this cycle but then I met a friend the other day who told me she was pregnant and it ‘happened so quickly’ which sent me spiralling! So now feeling down about it again so wondering whether to start thinking about contacting GP. OH has already contacted GP and has been referred for testing so will be good to hopefully get some answers there!

I’m trying so hard to be patient but it’s so hard!

Hi, it's really difficult when it happens for other people and you're happy for them but a bit sad for yourself. I believe you have to had ttc for 12 months before the NHS can help . Sending you baby dust; it will happen for us ❤️

@YaWeeFurryBastard aw no, I hate that feeling! Try and distract yourself and do something fun over the wknd 🤩 I'm CD 9 so just heading into fertile week, but I'm on antibiotics now for upper respiratory infection and have an ear infection too 🤢 hopefully doesn't mess with ovulation I'm due my trigger shot on Tuesday!

@YaWeeFurryBastard i know the feeling well! It gets like that doesn’t it? I think our brains are trying to protect us.

I am now one day late for my period. 12 or 13 dpo and I normally have a 11ish day luteal phase. Having faint positives on cheapies. They have got a little darker but still faint. Especially for being 12/13 days after. Only had cheap strips so I’ve ordered FRER which I will do when I get home. At least then I will know either way. I don’t think it’s looking good.

@RRAEE make sure you do treat yourself even if drink isn’t involved 🥰

My FRER arrived and it’s positive. It’s quite faint through and I don’t have a good feeling 😞

@Shortcake06 if you are getting consistent positives on different tests i would assume it's correct but if you are worried contact your GP for a blood test to confirm and get your levels checked and get checked out.

I've seen some people say they never got dark dark lines till later on. 🤷🏻‍♀️
