I've noticed a lot of us TTC number 2 and struggling after getting pregnant fairly easily with number 1!
Thought I'd start a thread so we can all support each other 💕💕

Hope everyone is doing ok this weekend and enjoying some sunshine! We went on a big walk and had a bbq yesterday which was lovely and reminded me of how great the next few months will be! I’m around 6po so similar timings to you @mamataylor and feeling weirdly relaxed… I was trying to work out why and I think it’s because sometimes I’m dead certain nothing will happen this month and other days totally convinced this will be it (based on nothing). We’re on holiday when I’m expecting AF so it should be a nice week regardless of the outcome but obvs can’t use this strategy every month 😬

BurritoTamer · 19/05/2024 10:10

Ah just found this thread. I’ve just had another BFN after 10 months of TTC #2. Just isn’t happening and don’t know why. Considering whether we need to go for private treatment now

I think the sunshine has a lot to be said for too! I feel like my mental health is so much better this cycle
Stuck between it will happen one day and its not going to happen this cycle, so I feel more zen but equally not ovulated yet so that could all change! Haha

Ah the holiday will be lovely! Some well needed R&R!

I've tried this month focus on what we do have rather than what we don't and that has helped so much!

I feel like the whole waiting around has been a lot easier with the sun out! My little boy has none stop wanted to be in the garden so being out there and playing with him has really taken my mind off it, that's for sure! Hopefully the next few months of sun means the wait is a little easier 😆

Aw sounds like you had a lovely day!
The warmer weather definitely helps us forget the TWW somewhat. Have a fantastic holiday and I hope you get some good news ✨ keep me posted! X

Welcome. Sorry to hear you’ve had another BFN 😔 it never gets any easier and no matter how hard you try to protect your feelings it’s still so sad seeing that negative.
I think they say to contact your GP after 6 months if 35+ and 12 months under 35? But I guess if you’re planning to go private it’s definitely worth looking into! Sending you lots of baby dust.

Thank you! I’m 30, is it worth going to my GP with secondary infertility do you think? I thought they’d hand wave me away? How are you doing?

If it’s a comfort I have two friends who were trying for 10 months with nothing at all and then they got their BFP on their 11th month and ended up having twins! Take comfort in that you’re 30 years old and time really is on your side. I don’t think it can hurt to contact your GP though and see if there’s anything they can do? I worry about them sending me on my way too as I’m only 28 but there really is no harm in trying!

I’m ok thank you. We are on our 6th cycle since our miscarriage in Nov 2023, we’ve been trying properly since July 2023!

I really hope we both get our well deserved bfp’s soon x

Sending you massive good luck for your next cycle and so sorry to hear about your loss. That sounds really tough x

That actually is comforting for me to read about your friend, thank you! I’m actually really keen to get have 3 DCs eventually but my husband isn’t so sure… Twins next would be perfect lol!

cheeseycrumpets · 19/05/2024 21:44

Just wanted to say @BurritoTamer that I would definitely see the GP once you get to the 12 months mark (or close to it because how do they know?!) The EPU mentioned it to me after my MMC and they were aware I was trying for number 2 so hopefully the GP wouldn’t just send you away! I’m sorry you've had so many months of negatives, it’s so draining.
Sending you lots of luck and positivity for your next cycle! ❤️💪

haha, the concept is always scarier than the reality 🙈 I’m sure your 3rd will slot in and will be like they’ve always been there! Keep us posted on how you get on! X

I second this @BurritoTamer I was hesitant to ask for help first time round as I was still pretty young, convinced they wouldn't want to have anything to do with it but my GP was very comforting and told me that if it's still not happened in 12 months (from the start that is), to go back and they'll sort out a referral. Fingers crossed for you x

Thanks so much. I think we will give it a real good go this month and then GP next month. We’ve both completely quit drinking (only occasional drinkers anyway), I’ve started acupuncture and my DH has a home SA kit he’s going to do.

Feel a bit more positive today, really helps having this space to vent about it. I’m quite a private person IRL as is DH and no one knows we are actively trying to another. Makes it hard to explain to my close friends and family when my mood is in a real wobble. Nice to speak to people who can relate x

How is your journey going?

Forgot to mention in my previous post that I was 22 when trying for #1 so try not to let being young put you off asking for help!
There's a lady on another thread I'm on who has recently started acupuncture and she's said it's been great for stress etc. so definitely seems like a great investment!

Threads like this are fantastic aren't they! I didn't know about anything like this with #1 and I feel like it really could've helped manage my feelings and anxiety to have people who could relate. I actually thought it would've been easier this time as I know it doesn't go as smoothly as you hope but I still found myself getting upset, these threads have been a godsend. The girls on here are absolutely lovely and so supportive 🥰

We're currently in the TWW of cycle 6, which isn't that long but a month feels like an eternity in this world doesn't it 🥲 I don't know why I thought it'd happen instantly this time 🫣 Had some faint lines yesterday but trying not to think too much about it until they're a bit stronger 🤞🏻x

Oh that’s fab, sending massive luck your way! I found the 6 month mark really difficult so I totally get why you feel the way you do. I just assumed it would happen instantly for us too, it was cycle 2 for our son so I just assumed it would be the same this time. No rhyme or reason to it, it feels.

Thank you so much 🥰 it just seems like such a scary number doesn't it, half a year 😱 it was 11 months with my son so anything less I'm grateful for 🤣 it is so emotionally exhausting!
Seems like babies really do do everything on their terms, even right from the get go!

Ok ladies, so I’m 9dpo and I stupidly tested this afternoon and this line came up after 3 minutes! What do we think? I’m now kicking myself for testing so early! I never did with my first!! X

I honestly can’t usually see the lines people post on Mumsnet but I can see this 🙌🎉 I know it’s scary to be optimistic when things are so early but sending you all the positive vibes! Xx

11dpo now, my lines are still faint but are definitely getting there. With my son I didn't test until my period was due and had the whitest test ever! Waited a week and had a faint line then so this is completely alien to me! I've added a pic of today's for reference 😊
I've always found the second week the worst! Drags so much more and you're symptom spotting like crazy! How are you feeling? X
