Thought I’d make a new thread for those of us Ttc in February 2024. I know some of us will cross over from end of Jan to Feb! Wishing everyone all the luck ✨❤️

@bey @Undeterminedtartan @KittyFantastica im so so sorry lovelies - sending warm wishes and solidarity 🩷

this has got to be a lucky thread - really hoping this is the month for us all ☘️

ive been playing around with some tracking apps today while i should have been working, whoopsie. Every single one of them based on the same historic info has me ovulating at a different time, the range is over a week. If I sum the days they all give me up, apparently it’s a fertile window of FIFTEEN days starting on Weds… this really isnt a precise science is it 😂 hubby is up for the challenge although he did not enjoy the proceive that arrived, apparently his burps taste like soil 🙄 xx

My cycle is a 21 day one, so when should I be having the most sex?

It will depend entirely on when you ovulate, which you will need to try and track if you have an irregular, much longer or much shorter cycle than 'average.' I say 'average' because most of the published advice towards cycles 28 days long in which you would ovulate some time around day 14 and have a 14 day luteal phase.

21 days is quite short and if you're not familiar with tracking your cycle, I'd suggest using this month to get familiar with it. The shorter the luteal phase (the time between when your period finishes and the next one starts), the harder it can be for implantation to occur. Not impossibly by any means, you may well ovulate early as everyone is different. Best thing you can do is watch for the signs and use ovulation tests if you can. No one else can tell you when you'll ovulate or exactly when to have sex, unfortunately. There are several bits of advice around at the moment including the Sperm Meets Egg Plan and simply having sex every other day once your period stops until the next one is due. It's a science to work out and, even when done with tracking, not guaranteed!

Riverstardust · 17/01/2024 19:19

@ButterflySkies that is hilarious!! Could approach this as 2 days on, 1 day off? Otherwise I fear for you 😂 My hubby said the same about his. 😂

Limmers14 · 17/01/2024 19:46

Haha oh my god @ButterflySkies that’s mad! I wonder how much is based on data that other women are putting in too. I’m sure it takes our information but I imagine they also include the average women in our age bracket or something

My husband also ordered Proceive the other day. I’ll ask if it tastes like soil and report back.

@RW269 on your vitamin D question, my GP told me that plus folic acid are the most important vitamins to take

RRAEE · 17/01/2024 20:22

Hello everyone. CD14 here. Currently TTC no 1. Opks have gave me a peak already. My cycles are a bit irregular so hoping for the best this month 🤞🏻. The TWW is the worst.

Sending baby dust to all ✨

ButterflySkies · 17/01/2024 20:38

@Riverstardust @Limmers14 I know... the variation is huge! I've got a 29 day cycle like clockwork, 15 days seems so excessive! But interesting a couple of them think I ovulate earlier than I think I do. Going to use sticks at the same time every day from the first of those dates, see if they can give me a narrower window 😂

We went belt and braces last month and basically DTD almost daily for two weeks in an attempt to cover all bases, and I said never again at the end 😂 and that was over Christmas when we were off/wfh the whole time, I definitely dont have fifteen days (even every other day) in me going into the office!!

Please do report back on the soil xx

Riverstardust · 17/01/2024 21:19

@ButterflySkies even every other day is just exhausting! 😂 But we do what we can.

Hubby said that if you take them with a big meal, its not as bad! And he doesn't get it as much now as he did when he first took them. So hopefully yours will find the same!

This week is the gift that keeps giving... got a call from my GP to talk about full bloods i had done last week (not fertility related issue but she did my hormone levels). Letting me know the good news my results were fine but that there was HcG in my results - i mentioned we were TTC. Had to shut her down and tell her about AF! On the plus she said she'll see me in two - three cycles if no joy.

For those interested - she recommended folic acid, co q10, vit d and pre-seed, plus general healthy lifestyle, diet and good sleep. Said balance was key to keep stress levels low, my prolactin was marginally up but nothing to write home about (but im posting it on mumsnet :))

X

Noisinmaro · 18/01/2024 12:52

I take all them she gave you good advice....hopefully @ButterflySkies you will get your BFP before then.....

Thank you for sharing this I'd never heard of COq10 or pre seed, I've ordered some fingers crossed it helps.

Hi All,

Been lurking for a while so decided to join Feb's group. Me and my DP (both 29) are trying for our 1st baby, this will be cycle 2 for us.

New to the whole tracking and ovulation testing as I was on the pill for 12 years and only come off it in November!

Hopefully Feb is our month! X

AppleTree16 · 18/01/2024 17:28

I’m still bfing my toddler too and use Natural cycles plus apple watch. I’d definitely give it a shot with the thermometer (if you get someone to refer you, you get a free one).

robinmarl · 18/01/2024 19:59

@AppleTree16 how do you find NC temping works for you? I used it a bit before my first but gave up because if I had a rubbish nights sleep (which was often even before kids) I couldn’t rely on the data. If this cycle doesn’t work out for us I’m tempted to give it another try though!

i’ve finally had a peak using easy@home OPKs, although my ‘peak’ was only 0.77 so not as dark as the control line so no idea how reliable that is either 🤷‍♀️

RW269 · 18/01/2024 20:37

@ButterflySkies oh I’ve not heard of that co q10 before but just had a little look and it’s going straight into my shopping basket!
lovely to see everyone’s little tips and hype! ✨

Hello everyone, joining you all as AF arrived yesterday 5 days early 😢 I've had covid for the last 2 weeks so wondering if that has messed up my cycles? So onto cycle 2 TTC #2 (DD is 2.5). Hoping February is a lucky month for us all🤞 x

Covid caused my period to come 5/6 days early both times I had it, and my cycles are usually like clockwork. It hasn't caused any other variation since, so hopefully no lasting effects for you either.

Racket81 · 19/01/2024 19:47

Hi can I join. 42 ttc with partner of 4 years. Ttc for last 2 of them. 1 MC July 2023. I have 2 children from my first marriage 10 and 8. Currently 8dpo. Tender nipples and hunger thays all but could be pms due AF Mon Tues.

Mrshaitchxo · 19/01/2024 19:55

hey, long time lurker first time poster!

Feb will be our 5th month actively TTC and I’m feeling deflated/peed off 😂.. I lost a fallopian tube in 2021 due to a hydrosalpinx as a result of a previous septic pelvic infection & I’m unsure whether my remaining tube is fully functioning (my consultant was very vague and blasé about it 🫣)

I think it’ll help to have others to speak to who are currently trying as nobody in my life knows which is very isolating! the TWW is an absolute killer every time!!

Currently on CD2 - Hope this is our month 🫶🏼✨

Leonarda89 · 19/01/2024 20:01

Thank you, that's reassuring to know! My cycles have been a bit irregular since DD arrived but this last one was only 21 days so was a bit worried!

ButterflySkies · 19/01/2024 20:59

Of course everyone can join - and I agree it's nice to have a lovely support group 🩷

I had covid too before Xmas - felt better so we decided to try anyway - but no joy! Fingers crossed ladies! Xx

elarcoiris · 20/01/2024 08:10

@Leonarda89 I had Covid before Christmas and my period then came about 5/6 days early. Has been back to normal since then though.

elarcoiris · 20/01/2024 08:12

Natural Cycles has confirmed ovulation on Tuesday so guess I’m 4dpo… And now we wait 😬 Managed to DTD on Saturday, Monday and Tuesday so keeping fingers firmly crossed.

Leonarda89 · 20/01/2024 17:56

Thank you that's helpful. Fingers crossed that this is your month 🤞💕 the waiting is so hard isn't it!

Sorry been away not ignoring you!
It’s been really accurate for me so far - lining up with OPK peaks etc. I’ve only been doing it two months so far though. I’ve got an Apple Watch rather than a thermometer.
I am also still awake every few hours in the night with the toddler but we cosleep so minimal moving.

ButterflySkies · 21/01/2024 09:42

Morning ladies - i could kick myself. Went back to work this week, i was signed off post covid with chest/throat infection and total exhaustion. I hate being sick and never have sick days so thought I was all better when the time was up and stupidly went back 9-5 like nothing had been wrong with me. Had a lurking migraine since Weds eve, pushed through it. Felt ropey yesterday morning but not unwell enough to not slog round the local zoo with DD and hubby.

Now.... every single muscle in my body hurts and my chest feels like an elephant is sitting on it. I'm planning on spending the day on the sofa/in bed/a hot bath but aiming to TTC from Weds feels a long shot... I have a feeling my body just won't let me get pregnant like this.

Going to ask to WFH again this week... but not feeling hopeful this month about conceiving 😥
