Thought I’d make a new thread for those of us Ttc in February 2024. I know some of us will cross over from end of Jan to Feb! Wishing everyone all the luck ✨❤️

Hi everyone, thought I’d join in too! First month TTC #2 and I’m CD16, think I’ve just about to ovulate. I only got my periods back after #1 about a year ago and can barely remember a thing about my cycle having ignored it for so long 😅 sending luck to you all this cycle!

ButterflySkies · 16/01/2024 21:07

@dancingqueen345 welcome lovely!

The textbook 28 day cycle in CD days - you’d start your period on CD1, ovulate about CD14. Everyone’s different but CD1’s are people like me, on to the next month. CD10-the teens you’re ovulating, later CDs is someone in the two week wait before going back to CD1 or - hopefully this is all of us next month - becoming pregnant ☘️

I’d get folic acid and consider a good vitamin if you want - there’s load of conception ones or womens ones - to rule out not being deficient in anything. It’s probably worth while taking, if anything to help guard against getting wiped out by these bugs going round which can mess with your cycle/ovulation dates. X

dancingqueen345 · 16/01/2024 21:10

@ButterflySkies thank you for the explanation !

So I'm Cycle Day 3 then (third day of my period). According to Flo I will be ovulating CD13 but I'm going to check the accuracy of that with ovulation tests!

MamaBee23 · 16/01/2024 23:51

Hi everyone. Joining as hoping this month will be our month. Already have two children, age 12 & age 9 and made the decision to try for one more. We experienced a loss back in 2019 & we've spent the last few years focusing on everything but trying - guess it was our way of dealing with it. Fingers crossed for you all this month. Xx

Bey · 17/01/2024 00:34

hi everyone
I've hopped over from the January thread. I had a miscarriage in December and just want to be pregnant again so much.

cycle day 7 for me so going to be trying to dtd as many days as possible over the next week.

I will be trying to hold off until 8th Feb to test, but that seems sooo far away so I'll see how I get on.

I can't use opks because I'm still breastfeeding my toddler and breastfeeding makes them unreliable apparently so I just guess which is annoying. My periods are regular though, 28 day cycle 5 day AF

wishing you all so much luck and baby dust, hope we see lots of BFPs on this thread

RWSS · 17/01/2024 00:42

Hi!
Hopefully Feb will be our month ❤️

Stramas · 17/01/2024 01:37

Can I join? 11 dpo today but I’ve had negative tests right up to today. So I’m guessing this month didn’t work 😞

elarcoiris · 17/01/2024 07:22

@Bey That’s so annoying about OPKs and breastfeeding - did not know that! Have you tried BBT? I find it quite helpful for confirming that ovulation has happened so we know we can stop DTD quite so obsessively 🤣

WonderingAboutBabies · 17/01/2024 09:16

@dancingqueen345

CD 1 is the first day of your period! Most websites say people ovulate 12-14 days before your next period. So if your period is a 28 day cycle, you will probably ovulate at around CD14. It is different for everyone, which is why people use ovulating tracking methods to pinpoint which CDs they are most fertile and ovulating on! :)

MrsRandallFraser · 17/01/2024 09:41

Can I join? CD10 for me so going to start DTD every other night. I am tracking using OPKs but never seem to get a peak, but am going to try them at different times of day this cycle.

Fingers crossed for everyone!

I haven't because the toddler still wakes a lot in the night and we are awake different times every day so didn't think I'd be able to get accurate readings. You have to take it the same time every day don't you?

RW269 · 17/01/2024 11:32

Lovely to see so many of us about to begin our journey of Ttc coming up! Got my fingers crossed for everyone!

Has anyone seen much about vitamin D? I’ve not been taking any but I’ve just stumbled across an article that says it can help whilst Ttc!

Hello everyone! I’m 40 and trying to conceive with my 53 year old partner.

Just trying to do it daily and that’s our game plan really.

We very much want a baby together as we have kids with exes but not together.

Been trying since November, but nothing so far.

lots of baby glue and luck for us all

Riverstardust · 17/01/2024 13:38

@RW269 I'm taking vitamin d, read up that it was good for ttc! Plus it helps beat off those winter blues! So double whammy this time of year! 😊

elarcoiris · 17/01/2024 13:45

@Bey So I use Natural Cycles with an Oura ring and it basically takes regular readings throughout the night and averages them, which means it’s not dependent on you waking at the same time or having such consistent sleep (although I think if you were up a lot it would still mess with the averages). I believe that you can also use an Apple Watch or other fitness tracker type device that can measure temperature. If your cycles are regular probably not such an issue though as you probably have a good sense of when you ovulate - mine can be a bit all over the place!

elarcoiris · 17/01/2024 13:46

@RW269 I’m taking vitamin D - have a spray which also includes vitamin K (apparently increases the effectiveness or something). Keeping fingers crossed it helps!

Undeterminedtartan · 17/01/2024 13:56

Joining but not sure Feb will be the month. Trying for no.2. We were lucky and it happened quickly with baby no.1.

We've been not trying but not preventing since October then just over a week ago I got a positive but it was a chemical unfortunately. AF has just finished so looking ahead to out next try. Learnt my lesson about early testing.

I've been on OVUM for a month now (other ones before that but I've stepped it up) and I'm going to start tracking ovulation this month. I need to remind myself how to use them... I started them for baby no.1 got totally confused, misread them entirely and they didnt match up with my app prediction in anyway, shape or form but luckily mother nature stepped in.

PinkFlamingo888 · 17/01/2024 14:26

Hello, I’m CD5 today so going to use my first OPK in a couple of days. We’ve been trying for about 4 months now, although I’m not sure we’ve been getting the right dates so the OPKs will be interesting!
This will be our first so it’s all very new, just want a BFP as the longer it goes on the more stressful it all is!

KittyFantastica · 17/01/2024 15:11

Hello,

Tentatively dipping my toe in. I fell pregnant first time TTC#1 in December, but lost it last week. I'm just coming to the end (I think) of the bleed, so we are thinking about jumping straight back in. I don't know if I will track or just give it this month to recover and just not prevent. Either way, I'd like to see another positive come February and it's nice to be on the journey with others.

Good luck to everyone.

I haven't got a smart watch or ring so I'd have to use a thermometer to track. I might give it a try though. I'll see how this month of ttc goes.

LillieAsh · 17/01/2024 16:49

Hello! Would love to join you all. We have been ttc for about 10 months now with no success. We’re in our late 30’s.

Has anyone heard good things about the Ferti Lily?

We are about the same age. I will be 41 next week. We just started my hubby is almost 50.

Maybe you said you do this but you can also track your CM. I used ovulation sticks before and found my CM matched the clear EW when the stick said I was ovulating. I think I am ovulating now which is a couple days earlier than my cycle tracker says. We DTD the day before yesterday so I guess the swimmers are on track....

I'm sorry for your loss. That's basically what we are doing right now. Not really tracking but not preventing either.

babycandy · 17/01/2024 18:25

My cycle is a 21 day one, so when should I be having the most sex?
