@CatCaretaker I always used OneStep ones which people seem to either get on with or not. But they are very cheap if you want to give them a go. You can also use them with the PreMom app to get a rating of how dark the line is (again a bit hit and miss but has always given a good enough indication for me). They've helped me get pregnant 5 times (sadly 3 losses) so they have clearly helped me identify my most fertile days!

RoseH36 · 15/01/2024 18:22

@CatCaretaker I use the Clearblue digital ones.

Daniki · 15/01/2024 19:06

@CatCaretaker I use one step ones j think they're called. I see you're in ROI, as am I! Check out motherandbaby.ie they have bundles of ovulation and pregnancy tests x

CatCaretaker · 15/01/2024 17:31

What ovulation tests do you guys use BTW? I've always used the clearblue ones, but they're expensive and I think I'd rather be able to judge them myself, rather than waiting for a smiley face.

The cheap green amazon ones do the job if u use am and pm in ovulation window

CatCaretaker · 15/01/2024 20:18

Thanks @Daniki will check it out! @worldwidetravel2017 thanks! Was looking at the cheap Boots ones but they have poor reviews.

CatCaretaker · 15/01/2024 20:44

@SnookyPook and @RoseH36, thanks (sorry missed your updates initially).

Hannah156 · 16/01/2024 16:24

Hi everyone, can I join in?
35 and TTC no.2. I have a DD who is 21 months, stopped breastfeeding in November and my cycles have been a bit wild since then, last one being 45 days! This cycle it seems to have settled and had my first positive ovulation test so now in the TWW (so torturous!). Last time we conceived straight away so it's been new doing all the testing etc. Used pressed this cycle so hoping that's helped. How's everyone doing?

VixFromThe6ix · 16/01/2024 16:25

@CatCaretaker I used easy@home ovulation and pregnancy strips. Cheap cheap on Amazon, so you don't feel bad if you have a POAS addiction like me, lol. I swear by them both. Use it along with the premom app.

Thanks @VixFromThe6ix in the middle of 2ww right now, but will grab some new ovulation tests depending on the outcome (I think I'll be buying the tests 😉).

Isnt it kinda mad how theres a fair bit of luck in creating a new life

CatCaretaker · 16/01/2024 16:35

@worldwidetravel2017 thanks!

Hannah156 · 16/01/2024 16:45

I'm also in the TWW, fingers crossed and baby dust for both of us 🙏🤞

Hannah156 · 16/01/2024 16:46

Thank you! How long have you been trying? Are these tests to check fertility?

CatCaretaker · 16/01/2024 17:04

Hi @Hannah156 nearly a year, how about you? I know a year isn't that long compares to some here, and I empathise so much cause every failure is so upsetting!

Yes, ovulation tests, I've always used the smiley clearblue ones but they're expensive and I ration them. I want to try something cheaper that I can use more of every cycle to really pinpoint the lh peak.

So frustrating when people accidentally get pregnant when some of us have been actively trying for months, even years. It seems so unfair!

I hear you

Hannah156 · 16/01/2024 17:25

Only been trying a couple of months and I was struggling to track my cycle until this month so counting this as cycle 1. Sorry to hear you've been trying for a while, it must be such an emotional rollercoaster. I use the premom tests along with the app, they're really cheap and easy to use!

It feels like the most unfair thing in the world! I'm at 16 months of trying for number 2 so far. With how much is involved with timings etc I'm actually amazed how so many manage to get pregnant accidentally.

Mrsspoon3 · 16/01/2024 19:08

Hi, I don’t know if anyone remembers me but I was on here until December and have lurked reading posts ever since. I tested positive in November and had a reassurance scan at 7 weeks which showed a strong heartbeat, but I had my “12 week” scan today (was meant to be 13 weeks) and it showed the baby had stopped growing at 7 weeks and there was no heartbeat. I’m so devastated. Have to go to the hospital on Thursday to decide between surgical and medical management 😢
