@worldwidetravel2017 I tested mine first time around and it was high so I had to take medicine for it. Don't remember what it's called now but I was also told there is a chance it can contribute to a miscarriage.

10dpo and negative, counting myself out now 😩

Kezz301 · 15/01/2024 09:48

Hi can I join in? I'm 35 just signed up to mumsnet so I have people in the same journey to talk to as I've been reading the boards for weeks 😂 ttc baby no 1, I stopped pills (degestrol) 17th Nov, af came 23rd December now in first cycle. Going by flo app I'll be in tww and about day 10dpo. Did a test and negative so disappointed myself knew I shouldn't but I've got no patience lol
I was using clearblue opks this cycle but once I ran out on the 9th day of flashing smilies I didn't repurchase and just dtd every other day.

BiscuitDreams · 15/01/2024 09:52

@Daniki Same. Although I think I'm 11dpo. Crampy and miffed. Lol. I reckon February will be a good month for us. I can feel it! 😁

Welcome @Kezz301 and good luck. I think quite a few of us are impatient when it comes to testing. 😆

Daniki · 15/01/2024 10:09

@BiscuitDreams I hope so! I'm starting reiki next week to see does it help 😂 Il try anything at this stage!!

BiscuitDreams · 15/01/2024 10:16

@Daniki Ooh do let us know how you get on! I've always wanted to try it. 😃 Hope it works for you! I think we were in the same TTC thread last year by the way, I think there was one that started in April/May/thereabouts and it was great. I took a break from TTC and changed my username but I'm back on the horse (so to speak)! 🤣

Daniki · 15/01/2024 11:02

@BiscuitDreams oh no way! Nice to meet you again 😂 still on this journey, so frustrated at why it's not happening 🙈 yea will let you know, have heard good things!

Hello, Could I join?

38 (DP 42) TTC for nearly a year now, never had a bfp. I have longer cycles (approx 35 days) and high AMH for my age but the luteal phase is exactly 2 weeks, and doctor does think I'm ovulating. I always get positive opks. So, the diagnosis is polycystic ovaries, without the syndrome...

Dp has borderline low morphology, but everything else is perfect, so shouldn't be affecting conception.

I've had hormone tests, ultrasound to check tubes, etc. etc. No issues, no endometriosis, no blocked tubes (well, one is definitely clear, they couldn't see the other fully, but no reason why it would be), hormone levels normal (other than AMH), nothing unusual at all. I've been reading through this thread though and a few of you have mentioned low progesterone. I don't think they've tested my progesterone so I think I should ask about that. Never had a bfp, even a chemical though, so I don't know what the issue is.

Daniki · 15/01/2024 11:45

@CatCaretaker defo recommend a 21day progesterone test, it measures your levels at a certain point in your cycle and can tell if you've ovulated or not, while I was getting positive opks she said my levels were low so iv been on letrozole for the last 4 cycles but still no joy! I have one son, 2 miscarriages in 22 and a chemical last year but otherwise haven't been able to conceive since 2022! 35 now so I'm really feeling the pressure 🙈

Welcome

When you ask 4 progesterone testing - wise to ask for prolactin testing too

Have u had your feretin checked ?
Some females dont concieve til good feretin levels

Vit d is also important 4 conception and pregnancy - and good vit reduces miscarriage risk

Prolactin ,
Feretin ,
Vit d
And b12 tested ?

CatCaretaker · 15/01/2024 12:02

Thanks @Daniki I'm defgo going to ask the doctor about it.

From the sounds of it you know you can conceive, you have had bfps, but maybe the progesterone impacts implantation? Is that right? Sorry to hear of your miscarriages.

Daniki · 15/01/2024 12:04

@worldwidetravel2017 yes my specialist tested everything, but i haven't seen her since September. Waiting on an app with her colleague for follicle tracking etc

worldwidetravel2017 · 15/01/2024 12:04

Im on 5mg folic acid daily due to current weight / current bmi
Makes my legs a bit weird tho

Had private imagery of boobs and arm pits done yest as want any issue there ruled out - they were very interested to hear about my ebv / glandular fever

Getting feretin test this week & hopefully prolactin

Any females with high bmi - should consider 5mg daily FA -

Havent been overseas since 2019

Cant wait 4 a,long weekend in the sun in a bit ☆♡

Daniki · 15/01/2024 12:06

@CatCaretaker yea that's what I have beeb thinking too. I also have Crohn's disease so possibly natural killer cells at play too. I have a script for steroids progesterone and aspirin to start when I get pregnant but haven't been able to since she prescribed them feb last year 🙈 when I was pregnant with my son I was in a horrible flare and was on steroids for the whole pregnancy so probably why I had no issues 🙈

CatCaretaker · 15/01/2024 12:07

Thanks @worldwidetravel2017 yes, prolactin and ferritin have been checked, both fine now (I do tend toward low iron levels, but take galfer iron tablets for it).

Also on metformin (for PCOS, even though probably unnecessary), vit. D, B vitamins, proceive omega, and CoQ10.

CatCaretaker · 15/01/2024 12:12

@Daniki thanks for info, and here's hoping it will work out for you in 2024 (sooner rather than later hopefully!).

@worldwidetravel2017 oh, did not know that about Metformin! Haven't had blood work done since starting the Metformin no ... am on B complex supplements though that have B12 in them, should that offset it?

Thankfully normal BMI!
