@Lalaland13 I wanted to use them to see if I ovulate when I think I do (based on ewcm mainly) but today it was even lighter and so I’m really confused as I’m on CD11 so would’ve assumed they would be starting to get darker on the lead up to my most fertile days (28 day cycle and ewcm usually in middle on the cycle)… who knows what’s happening! I think we will just continue to BD every 2-3 days and then I will be “covered” anyway!

Congratulations @Fullofconfusion

Bec0mum · 04/02/2024 22:16

Congratulations to you too @JC084 (sorry, thought I had already said that above) 😊

Libbynznz · 05/02/2024 01:58

Hey ladies. I’m 38 from New Zealand ttc for number 6. 40 is my cut off date for trying. Good luck to you all. I have had 20 losses and 4 rainbow babies one sunshine baby born after a rainbow baby. If this cycle I conceive would be a spring baby.

Lalaland13 · 05/02/2024 09:12

Think some bleeding starting today - it’s a bit brown and very faint. I think this means next ovulation around 18th, have been planning to go away with a friend 14-18th… is it bad am wondering if to kind of rearrange ?!?! Although she is so busy and I guess bleeding might be on for a while and we can DTD on 18th and 14th before go I guess! X

Lalaland13 · 05/02/2024 09:13

@Bec0mum i guess with the ovulation tests the amount of water you drink will change it, I never get strong lines on them! But I usually count a line as about the right time along with the dates I expect also x

Lalaland13 · 05/02/2024 09:14

Wow number 6 @Libbynznz and a lot of losses. Good luck to you! Xx

worldwidetravel2017 · 05/02/2024 12:29

anyone with ' any chance ' of pcos - can - if they have pcos get multiple surges etc ( on ovulation tests) .....

Always good to have pco blood test

And transvaginal scan to - check ovaries ( size etc) & structural - -

Those of u that have been trying a while

Looks like cycle 7 is coming to an end and still no BFP. My first ever cycle where FF has suggested a triphasic chart too, and such a great clear chart. Tested yesterday at 10 DPO though and BFN and this morning my temp has dropped a little so not going to even bother testing again.

I feel like I’m like clockwork now, I get EWCM, ovulate on CD15/16 and have 27/28 day cycles with clear temp differences etc.
I’m starting to wonder if it’s something to do with DH and sperm but as my GP won’t even refer me for 12 months despite being 37 wonder if that’ll be the same!

EvelynKatie · 05/02/2024 14:26

Congrats @Fullofconfusion !!
Also congrats to @JC084 and fingers crossed for you that this works out.

CurlyWurly1991 · 05/02/2024 15:49

@EvelynKatie sorry about the bfn 😞 We did get DH’s sperm tested privately with medichecks (fulfilled by a company called mojo). It was ok but I would not recommend, it was a right faff sorting postage etc. However it wasn’t too expensive and the results were reassuring so overall it was helpful to do.

Have u used hertility health? Ace 4 checking your amh and many other things

Hope u get your bfp soon

Fullofconfusion · 06/02/2024 11:02

Im believing it now. I’ve tested 4 days and I there are most definitely lines and getting darker.

I’ve not told my partner yet as I wanted to be sure. Have ordered a clear blue digital test and will surprise him when it arrives.

I'm really tired as a nasty cold seems to have caught up with me, I assume whilst my body was concentrating on other things!

@Bec0mum I used OPKs for the first time during this cycle where I’ve conceived. I tested once a day at the same time and I did get lines over the dates when I thought I would be ovulating but none of them darker than the control line. Someone earlier in the threat (I’m sorry, I forget who) told me to test a couple of times a day when I had lines as you can miss your peak if it’s later on in the day. I obviously did ovulate and it was around that time so I must’ve just missed my peak by only testing once a day.

@Lalaland13 I would still go on the trip. BD before and after and keep everything crossed. It will be good to take a break from TTC and have some girly time with your friend too.

@JC084 how are you doing?

CurlyWurly1991 · 06/02/2024 11:10

Yay @Fullofconfusion congratulations !!!

JC084 · 06/02/2024 11:49

@Fullofconfusion yay congratulations

I'm doing well thanks. Have been told by EPAU they will scan me at 6 weeks due to my history and so need to call back at the end of the week to book in.
Did a clear blue digital today and got "pregnant 1-2" ... my app reckons I'm 4+5. Bought the 2 test pack and so will do the second one next week I guess and hopefully see progression 🤞🏼

It's such a nerve wracking time 🙁

Lalaland13 · 06/02/2024 11:52

Ohh great lines @Fullofconfusion - many congrats! How many DPO now?

We will still go - we are now struggling to find anywhere though with half term- but you’re right be good to get away! Both taking our little ones so be nice, she had the most adorable daughter - she is 4 and a half and such a wise thing! Very sensible compared to my crazy boy! Not been away without hubby or my mum as back up so I do feel a bit anxious about it.

Just thinking if we don’t conceive in feb then it will be a another month waiting and a due date be close to Xmas… but hey who knows what will happen! Prob won’t be either month! I did read you’re really fertile after a CP!

Fullofconfusion · 06/02/2024 12:14

@JC084 that’s great that you’re on their radar and hopefully you’ll get some early reassurance. It is just such a worry in the early stages, especially with what you’ve already gone through. Fingers firmly crossed for you that this one is a sticky bean!

@Lalaland13 I’m not sure how many days to be honest. Flo thinks I ovulated 10th January. I did use OPKs and although the line never really got very dark it was darkest around 13/14th and much lighter by 16th so I’m guessing I actually ovulated around then. That would make me 22/23DPO. That’s my guess anyway, it always feels like a bit of a guessing game! Haha

Hope everyone is doing well and fingers crossed for some more BFPs soon!

Bec0mum · 06/02/2024 16:33

Aww @Fullofconfusion lovely strong lines and good to see the progression isn’t it? Thanks for your advice on OPKs. To be honest? Doing them same time each day won’t work for me as I’m in and out of the house so I think I will use up the ones I’ve got this month and next and then won’t buy them again. I was just curious as to whether I’m not ovulating (I’m breastfeeding) and that’s our issue but then I have ewcm and a clear cycle pattern in terms of cycle length etc so I would assume I am. We all know nothing can be assumed in TTC though!!

CurlyWurly1991 · 06/02/2024 16:52

@Bec0mum I know what you mean with the OPKs, I find them pretty annoying. On the other hand can be useful to see that LH surge. Some people swear by the clear blue 4 day ovulation test, they are really pricey though. I think the advantage is that you only have to test once a day in the morning with FMU, maybe someone who uses them can correct me if I’m wrong on that?! I’m thinking of getting some myself.

Sarah295 · 06/02/2024 18:12

Hi , im 37. It’s taken me years to persuade my husband to try for baby number 3 so we have two boys age 9 and 7. I fell pregnant both times straight away so stupidly thought that we would again despite being older! It’s only month 4 ttc so not that long but feeling particularly fed up this month. I usually spot for a few days before AF so concerned about progesterone but it was only 1 day last month which was reassuring. I've decided to get progesterone checked next cycle with private blood tests so I can go to my GP armed with something if needs be.

Welcome :)

Sounds ace and productive

I did randox health blood tests today

Lalaland13 · 07/02/2024 08:10

Good luck @Sarah295 I am sure it will happen for you soon. It does feel like ages between each cycle though! Can get to 4 months pretty quick!

Anyone who has had a chemical and known about it… I still have a high temp according to my watch and there has been no dip in BBT consistently anyway…and what has been the bleeding has been so light. I am very confused but I guess only started Monday so will continue! Just thought would be like a normal period but the tampons last night and yesterday afternoon have been pretty much empty!

JC084 · 07/02/2024 10:45

Ladies - this is a bit off topic but I know this thread is so helpful.
I've had 3 losses in 6 months as a lot of you know. I was also made redundant at the end of last year - just a few weeks after my first loss. It's been a really rough time.
I've now found out I'm pregnant and am 5 weeks tomorrow, whilst at the same was invited for a job interview this week for a great opportunity - and it's all looking very positive. I may start next week.
I just feel really guilty. They're not a big company and so I feel guilty to start with them and know I won't be there for the long term.
What would you do?
Can't even work out if I'd be entitled to SMP. I think I would, but actually the govt website is suggesting I'd be able to claim for maternity allowance - Which I guess I would feel less guilty about as then I'm at least claiming from the govt and not from my employer (I know they claim back but I also know it can be a lot of admin!)

Ugh, feeling stressed ... thanks for reading this far! x

Fullofconfusion · 07/02/2024 10:54

@Lalaland13 I have no experience of chemical pregnancy. This must be really confusing for you. I know your last test was negative, did you do more than one? In case it was a faulty one? I did have obe super light period that only lasted 3 days and wasn’t much more than spotting on one of my cycles. It confused me but all tests were negative at the time.

@Sarah295 welcome. Hope your TTC journey goes well

@JC084 I was in just this situation with my first!! I went for interview and fell pregnant (unbeknownst) at about the same time so I took the job not even knowing I was pregnant. But then there was an opportunity for promotion after I’d been there a couple of months. I actually kept my pregnancy to myself and applied but I felt so so guilty about it! I didn't get the promotion and told my boss soon after that I was pregnant. Sometimes you have to be selfish. I was petrified about telling my boss and she was honestly lovely about it and so happy for me so try not to overthink it.

also regarding maternity pay. I didn’t qualify for SMP as I hadn’t been there long enough so unless the rules have changed I suspect you’ll be the same. I claimed maternity allowance instead which is paid at the same rate (minus the 6 weeks of 90% wages). Hope that’s helpful

Lalaland13 · 07/02/2024 11:26

I did so many tests - I am very sure am not pregnant! Maybe it’s a bit of a on and off slow bleed, it’s just so werid. Does make me think I have had more chemicals though and why I had a messed up cycle. Argh it’s so confusing!

Oh gosh @JC084 sounds like you had a hard end of 2023 but looking like 2024 more positive. I know you’ll feel guilty about going for the role but I would, you’re without work and it sounds like a great opportunity - you will be able to work for a long while til baby comes and presumably you’ll want to work after mat leave?! So at least be good to go back to something you’ll enjoy! With such a soon start date you’ll be there long enough to add value and if they are a good employer they will recognise this. Sometimes things are just meant to be - go for it and have no guilt!
