I cannot catch a break !!

Have any of you had investigations to see if your estrogen dominant ??

So i paid 300 gbp for private thermal imagery of arm pits and boobs
As my gut said to - for a few reasons..

Had results - th3

Had consultation just now - basically have to change to a natural deodorant..
Instead of shop one . Was using ' sure.-
Has chemicals in

Apparently my estrogen dominance can be linked / coralate with my colon polyps..

And even coralate with possibly low progesterone / miscarriage
.
She told me all these reasons i need natural progesterone - not drs progesterone..

Have just emailed my liver consultant / gastro consultant re the links

Arghhhhh :(

So for anyone thats unfortunately suffered the pain of miscarriage - do consider that you might / could be estrogen dominant.. and maybe worth looking into

I think I'm the same, I listened to a podcast on Friday about estrogen dominance and i tick all the boxes. Have a full list of bloods I want to get done this week for my app next week!

Gawd i don’t know why but I have such a bad headache today - like I usually get way before period but more intense. Drank so much water but I think must be a hormone thing. Hope everyone is going okay and scans and appointments went well xxx

@SnookyPook thats a lovely update ❤️ I’m happy for you xx

Bumblebee413 · 30/01/2024 20:01

Oh @SnookyPook I’m so pleased. I’ve been thinking of you all day. They rearranged my appointment to Thursday, but I now know it’s with a really lovely female colleague I get on with, as opposed to an old male one that I’m less keen on today, so that’s actually a relief. It also made today a lot easier work wise! X

Lalaland13 · 30/01/2024 20:19

Ahh amazing @SnookyPook ❤️ and good news too @Bumblebee413 , I know it’s probably sexist but so much nicer have a female for these type of appointments ! Xx

SnookyPook · 30/01/2024 21:06

Thanks everyone and @Bumblebee413 that's great, I'm glad you'll be with someone you're more comfortable with. Will be thinking of you on Thursday 🙏🏼💕

Bumblebee413 · 30/01/2024 21:30

If I’m honest, I’m pretty blasé with my bits 😂 I think it’s the ‘atmosphere’?? She is lovely, bubbly and friendly, whereas the one I was going to have is very old and is more interested in telling rather than listening.

EvelynKatie · 30/01/2024 21:36

Glad everything looks ok SnookyPook!

@worldwidetravel2017 hi love, thank you for thinking of me. I'm doing good. Just celebrated by son's 2nd day, which reminded me how time is flying by and to enjoy every moment. Feeling bit guilty this time around as I'm already 21 weeks but because I'm so busy with work and my toddler, I don't concentrate as much on this pregnancy. I just started feeling him moving so I think that will help me be more aware of a little human growing inside. I read from page 7 to now and saw some of your updates. I hope you start getting a break soon and get to TTCing in April. Rooting hard for you. And good idea on the deodorant, I've been using natural deodorants for years. Takes time for body to adjust but then it's smooth sailing. I love Native brand but not sure if they ship to the UK.

Was nice to see some good news of some bfps.

@SnookyPook glad everything is going well with little bean 💓

@Bumblebee413 hope everything goes well on Thursday. Looking forward to your update.

Sorry to everyone who had a recent loss. My heart breaks for you. I hope you get your bfp soon 🤞

@Mrsspoon3 thinking of you. Hope you're taking a good care of yourself.

@worldwidetravel2017 iv highlighted the below in pic which they've asked for but also going to get my estrogen levels checked, no point with progesterone as too early in cycle. Will speak to nurse to see what she thinks!

@worldwidetravel2017 yea iv had it tested its ok, it was really low after the birth of child for ages but I was having a lot of blood loss with my ulcerative colitis at the same time, have had surgery now and much improved!

RoseH36 · 01/02/2024 08:11

I don't want to upset or offend anyone but I think we need to remember that we aren't doctors and that the tests we are referred for will be based on our individual medical history. I know my GP wouldn't appreciate it if I went in with a list of things I wanted them to test. I don't know what bloods i had done last year but they took 7 vials in all so I know it was thorough and I trust that what I was tested for was right for me.

There are unfortunately hundreds of reasons why we're all going through this journey and it's different for everyone. Sometimes there isn't even a medical reason behind it.

I just think each of us should trust in the care we're being offered.

worldwidetravel2017 · 01/02/2024 08:58

If id of trusted the care being offered - i wouldnt of found a b12 deficiency thats now corrected

I asked them to test b12 due to symptoms

Equally - they only found my feretin deficiency when they tested that as an after thought as long covid referal said we need this tested - you havent done it

Equally a friend has had 5 rounds of failed private ivf - with one miscarriage 3rd time. I told her to get basic tests - they found too high prolactin ( which effects progesterone) and v low feretin

Also.- 3x other friends have found recent defencies

NHS is very over stretched and broken

Each to their own etc

The estrogen issues wouldnt of been picked up - had i not paid 300.gbp for private investigators

Miscarriage is so painful and sometimes a full blood count and thyroid test after doesnt cut it

Equally - i dont know if i agree or disagree with the following - but yesterday i read some stuff about what someone on mumsnet had been told @ the recurrent miscarriage clinic - where they do more thorough testing - about how often theres apparently a medical reason 4 miscarriage when people have multiple.

Good luck with everything

Do lemme know how your results etc go

Have a lovely wkend

CurlyWurly1991 · 01/02/2024 12:48

Hi @worldwidetravel2017 it sounds like your GP hasn’t been very proactive at looking at these things.
it definitely varies, and is the luck of the draw. My GP ran a bunch of fertility tests when we had been trying for 5 months, including ferritin, prolactin, and day 3 and 21 tests on the correct days. A previous GP at the same practice had requested the progesterone tests without telling me what day to do them 🤦‍♀️ so totally useless.

worldwidetravel2017 · 01/02/2024 13:00

Exactly

I asked 4 prolactin myself - after my friends flagged up when she also has miscarriage history like me.

In Gps defence - he gave me a Qfit test last year that got me lotsa urgent help and has been very empathetic and given me lotsa time

But yes - not always the most proactive

Ive just ordered a hormone kit from randox health - curious 4 some of those results
