Oh so sorry @Mrsspoon3 I think after you’ve seen a heart beat it gives you more confidence to plan.

I would try to get referred, could you request to see a female doctor and explain all you’ve been through.

So sorry you’re going through this.

Lalaland13 · 25/01/2024 19:21

Ah amazing @Hannah156 congrats xx

Lalaland13 · 25/01/2024 19:22

I’ve never bought one of those fancy CB! My friends have self control and just use those once they missed periods! I am such a control freak! I can’t wait that long !!

Fullofconfusion · 25/01/2024 19:54

@Hannah156 huge congrats!! Fingers crossed for you.

AF should be due today however she’s not arrived yet. I’ve had cramps all day though and treated myself to a takeaway to cheer me up as feeling a bit rubbish. I’m sure she’ll be here soon and then it’ll be onto the next cycle. However I thought this last month and I had all the pre-AF symptoms and then she didn’t turn up for another 3 weeks!! I feel like my body is still getting to grips with coming off the pill after spending so long on it. I knew it would though as it did last time and I did warn my partner it could be 6 months plus so at the moment I’m just going with the flow

Bumblebee413 · 25/01/2024 20:18

@Fullofconfusion it sounds like you’re right- bodies can take quite a while to settle after the pill. Although obviously it varies massively from person to person but I think a GP once told me it can be normal for it to take up to 6 months.

@SnookyPook sending you lots of love for the scan. Hopefully this will be a real turning point as it’ll be that step further than last time. It is so wonderful to hear that everything looked positive at the 10 week scan. I love a cheeky baby- those that come when we’re not expecting them, either as a surprise pregnancy or those that try to catch us off guard on labour ward :) I always think they already have such a force about them 🥰

@Mrsspoon3 I think you’ve been given two things to process- both the loss of your baby and the shock of it all. Those are both huge things separately, let alone together. I’m so sorry that you’re going through this. Complaint wise, do it if and when you’re feeling strong enough. It shouldn’t be anything in you to- do list right now as you have enough to deal with. Unless you feel it would help now, which it might, depending on where you’re at. Again I am so sorry for his callousness.

@worldwidetravel2017 I really hope they’re able to help you figure it out. I’m sorry that you’ve been in pain over the last week. Hoping that you’re feeling much better soon x

Big congratulations @Hannah156 ! So lovely to see it written out like that!

@RoseH36 take every day as a celebration and congratulations on getting that bit further this time. Come on little baby! X

You have been missed @FigandHoney, so lovely to hear from you.

@CurlyWurly1991 I think, with respect to your therapist, sometimes someone trying to talk you out of something is a really good way of helping you identify exactly why it is important to you! Typical human nature! X

RoseH36 · 25/01/2024 20:46

@CurlyWurly1991 noooo never book things separately, you have zero financial protection if things go wrong (I'm a self-employed Travel consultant). We have a holiday booked for May, I never plan too far ahead as I had SPD with my DS which left me immobile so have felt in limbo with so many things forward planning.

@Hannah156 congratulations

@Mrsspoon3 still ask the question, they should still refer you. My CP wasn't on record and I still got a referral. My DS should have been a twin but the second sac never developed and I had a bleed. I then had my mmc and and a CP. I wasn't sure the bleed with my DS would count but they still factored it in and said I'd had 3 losses as far as they were concerned.

@Bumblebee413 thank you, the line was quite dark on the first response today, taking things one day at a time and trying not to think any further ahead than that.

CurlyWurly1991 · 25/01/2024 20:53

@RoseH36 great news you have a nice dark line on the frer! Cmon baby!!
I got SPD too first time around. So horrible !!

Oh no I always book flights and accomodation seperately 😥 just so much cheaper . It’s a eurocamp holiday and I got a flights quote from them but they couldn’t do different departure and arrival airports (2 x 1 way trips) and it was over £600 cheaper the way I booked it so 🤞
at least eurocamp would let us move the holiday I think as long as within a year… gulp. I think I’m getting ahead of myself anyway!!

RoseH36 · 25/01/2024 21:03

@CurlyWurly1991 thank you. It's horrendous isn't it? I hadn't even known it was a thing until I had it. Said I'd happily suffer it now though if it means things are going well (I'll remind myself of that at some point when I'm in agony lol).

Ahhh we did Eurocamp as kids! It was the only holiday we ever went on. Do they still do the mini tents? I remember we turned up at one site one year and they had a kids version of the main tent set up next to it, was great to play in. It's often cheaper because of having no protection but depending on the holiday it can sometimes work out about the same as using an agent.

Lalaland13 · 25/01/2024 21:14

Ahh I can remember the last time we did a package holiday - I always book separate too. Not been on a euro camp but we have been looking, such good value deals!

JC084 · 26/01/2024 01:04

Ah i used to work for keycamp / eurocamp. Some of my best days!
Brilliant holidays - I'd love to book and take my husband and little one

CurlyWurly1991 · 26/01/2024 07:49

@RoseH36 I did eurocamp as a kid too! And haven’t since, but think this is a good site for our DD. Not sure about the mini tents, sounds a good idea!!
Eurocamp are atol protected if you book the flights with them as a package. They only charge a small fee for doing this. It’s just that they can only book return flights, and we wanted two one way and that actually turned out to be about half the price. Oh well, will have to chance it!
a holiday that is mainly lying by the pool / beach and near a major city is hopefully not too bad if I was lucky enough to be pregnant by then. 🤞

In other news. DH definitely up for continuing TTC. It’s like we read each others minds. He was the one that suggested stopping but seemed very happy when I suggested continuing to try for another 6 months and if no joy then just being grateful for DD.

So I’m waiting for my period so that I can start TTC again. Not sure when that will be ….

SnookyPook · 26/01/2024 08:53

@CurlyWurly1991 aw that's great you are both on the same page 😊 We did a Eurocamp with DS earlier in the year and it was fantastic! So lovely having everything we needed on site, including a great toddler pool. And he loved the mini disco in the evening. We went about a month after my MMC and it did me the world of good. We'll definitely be planning more trips with them!

rainyskylight · 26/01/2024 09:28

Hello, can I join? I’ve been reading the TTC threads a bit over the last few months, and have been following here for a couple of weeks.

AF arrived today, bang on time, and I’m feeling low about it. I’m 35, I have a 3 yo DD already, conceived quickly within 2 months. I really wanted a second before I turn 36 in April. Started TTC again last March, pregnant by May, MMC at 12 weeks late July. It got a bit dramatic, ended up in A&E majors with blood loss, emergency surgical removal and a blood transfusion.

We’ve been solidly trying again since Sept but no luck yet. I screwed up two cycles with acupuncture which managed to shorten my cycle to 3 weeks and skip ovulation. I had a bit of a New Year’s panic and we had some tests done - mixed results. Husband has slightly odd morphology but high sperm count so it cancels out a bit. My tests came back all fine apart from low reserves. The doctor isn’t really recommending intervention at this stage as we have got pregnant twice before.

if I knew it would take so much longer to have a second I would have started trying sooner.

I am at least glad that my cycle seems to have finally settled down after the miscarriage and acupuncture. And it is a sunny day 🌞

CurlyWurly1991 · 26/01/2024 12:47

@rainyskylight welcome, I hear your frustrations and am very sorry to hear about your MMC. Were your tests through the nhs? I think the low egg reserve can be a worry but isn’t so significant unless using ivf - although correct me if I’m wrong. Each ovulation releases an egg, so you only need the one.
I’ve had a recent MMC and am not sure whether to go back to my obsessive ways and be strict around diet, alcohol, supplements etc, or just relax and see. I am not the relax type of person! Like you I tried alternative therapies, seeing a herbalist as my cycles were very irregular. Didn’t make a difference if I’m honest. I do take agnus castus now though, but I just buy that.
It’s so frustrating when you do everything right and it doesn’t work. Life isn’t fair.

RoseH36 · 26/01/2024 15:03

How mad that so many of us have done Eurocamp 😂

@CurlyWurly1991 you'll have to look out for mini tents and see if they still do them. That's great news DH wants to try again too and good you've set a cut off. I think it's needed sometimes to keep you sane.

@rainyskylight welcome! You've found a great group of women who totally understand what you're going through. Your story is very similar to many of ours, I conceived DS within 3 months (he'll be 4 next month) yet never imagined how long it would take this time around.

Lalaland13 · 26/01/2024 16:08

Ohh good news the hubby is on board and you’re aligned @CurlyWurly1991 Baby dust to you!

ohh welcome @rainyskylight sounds like you’ve had a hard time the last year. Hoping it all works out soon! Interesting about accupunture messing up cycle, I’ve never had it but am curious. Mad what it can do to some people.

I am so confused over here - two more one step tests today and it’s no getting any darker, I can’t really tell if any lighter also. We are off our to a brewery shortly - they have a food van and meeting friends with a similar age son! I would usually have a wine but guess better not incase it works out. It’s so confusing! Surely after 2/3 days of very faint lines it would be getting darker by now. Can’t seem to get hold of frers these days so easy! Annoying as that might have helped my quandary!

Mum37of4 · 26/01/2024 16:44

Hmm ok so bfn this morning but now I’m lightly bleeding when wipe…. But AF not due for another 7 days… could this be implantation bleeding? Ahhhh

jellyfish2210 · 26/01/2024 18:13

@RoseH36 we did eurocamp too! We didn't do the tents though, we did the static caravans!

@rainyskylight I will be 36 this year too and have DD who is 5. She was conceived month 3 of trying but we are in cycle 12 TTC #2. So in a similar position. This is a great place for support!

rainyskylight · 26/01/2024 22:02

Thank you @CurlyWurly1991 @RoseH36 @Lalaland13 @jellyfish2210 ! Yes it seems like are quite a few similar stories here.

I also used to go on Eurocamp holidays when I was a kid haha …

RoseH36 · 26/01/2024 22:17

@Mum37of4 if AF isn't due for 7 days then you've tested way too early. 5 days before AF is when the most sensitive tests will pick it up. My last one, although a CP, didn't pick anything up until the day AF was due.

@Lalaland13 those ones don't seem to get dark very quickly. Today has been my darkest line after several days of them all seemingly to be quite similar. Have you tried at different times of day? My PM ones are darker than AM.

@jellyfish2210 I think I'd have preferred a caravan, I used to hate how hot the tents got.

@rainyskylight haha another one in the Eurocamp club 😂

Mum37of4 · 26/01/2024 23:43

@RoseH36 - but if I ovulated early then would I not implant early and then have a positive earlier?

Lalaland13 · 27/01/2024 07:46

It generally seems to be darker in the PM too @RoseH36 but I just feel should be showing more now, it’s still so faint - maybe I try to get a CB or frer today, we don’t really have plans and can pop to the big boots. Period due Monday. I’ve got in head now I am pregnant and had the 0% gin out yesterday was actually very nice!

Lalaland13 · 27/01/2024 07:57

Ohh my BBT to dropped last night according to my watch! Doesn’t that happen before AF ..: and stay elevated if pregnant another thing to add into my confused state!

RoseH36 · 27/01/2024 08:13

@Lalaland13 I think so but I'm not sure as I've never tracked BBT before. Worth checking on a different brand though.

@Mum37of4 it doesn't necessarily work like that. Regardless of when ovulation takes place it can still take anywhere from 6-12 days to implant. I always ovulate around the same time, this time my BFP was picked up 5 days before AF yet as I said yesterday, last time it didn't pick it up until the day AF was due. Also depends how quickly your HCG starts to rise.

Lalaland13 · 27/01/2024 09:09

Actually my latest cheapie is a lot darker when dried 😀😀😀

Try to be patient @Mum37of4 and keep yourself busy, easier said than done! X
