@Mrsspoon3 I’m so sorry that the consultant didn’t treat you more sympathetically at such an upsetting time for you. I’m glad you had a kind nurse to take the edge off his clinical approach and I hope you’re feeling ok today. The memory box sounds like a lovely idea. I hope you’ve got a good support network to look after you. Spoil yourself, you deserve it

@Bumblebee413 keeping everything crossed for you!

@RoseH36 congratulations!!

@Hannah156 I think I can see something if I squint, it always looks darker in person too, I find tests never photograph well. Fingers crossed for you too

I’m currently 13 DPO according to my flo app. I haven’t peed on any stick yet!! My boobs are super sore but I also have some cramping so I suspect my lovely visitor, AF, will be here in the next couple of days

Bumblebee413 · 23/01/2024 20:46

I am a little puzzled though. Everything I read says that hug is only released when implantation has already occurred. I got my positive two days before I started bleeding. So…? Random pregnancy bleeding?

worldwidetravel2017 · 23/01/2024 21:17

My mum bled 3 times with me

But - you have had a positive preg test , therefore its advised to get checked - theyd likely test your blood and urine

Lalaland13 · 23/01/2024 21:17

I’ve got it all crossed for you @Bumblebee413 glad the bleeding has subsided. Hope you’ve been able to enjoy the holiday! X

Bumblebee413 · 23/01/2024 21:38

I think I’m a bit lax tbh @worldwidetravel2017. I’m a midwife and I think I’ve got a bit of a ‘what will be will be’ attitude. I know that there’s a 25% chance of miscarriage and whereas I know there can be treatable causes for those, I’ve had one successful pregnancy so far and it’s great that I’ve conceived naturally a second time. There are so many things that can go wrong developmentally and I know that bodies are pretty effective at screening out chromosomal issues as well as others. If I do lose this one and if I struggle to conceive next time/ lose another then I will get tested thoroughly but it all just seems too much too soon for me personally at this stage.

I happen to have bloods scheduled so that’s covered either way, the only other thing they could technically do at this point is scan, but there wouldn’t be anything visible, so I would need to go back when something might be visible, which would be 5 weeks. I wouldn’t go before then anyway and I’m away, so I’m good. The only advantage would be getting hcg levels tested to ‘prove’ that I was/ am pregnant, but hopefully that will be evident in my progesterone levels and either way, they should bloody just trust us as women, shouldn’t they?? 💪🏼💪🏼 We know if we’ve had positive tests!

Than you for your advice and your care- I’m sorry I’m a bit of a tricky one. You have an incredible
knowledge base with respect to conception and it is very evident in your posts. I’m just trying to take as relaxed an approach as possible, whilst aware that for me, the EPAU is situated within my workplace, with my colleagues about x

Lalaland13 · 24/01/2024 07:23

Last night I had thought I saw a faint line on a one step .. well didn’t have any colour but I think I convinced myself could see something! Obvs there is nothing there this morning 😢 I need to stop my weeing on a stick / in a pot addiction!

jellyfish2210 · 24/01/2024 10:37

I have the same obsessive POAS affliction @Lalaland13 🙈

JC084 · 24/01/2024 11:49

Hope everyone is doing ok.
Sorry for the lack of involvement in the thread recently. Congrats to those who have had their BFP!
@Bumblebee413 - hope everything is ok for you! Just take each day as it comes and hopefully all is ok.
@RoseH36 - have you had your BFP? Sorry - but lost in all the messages. Huge congrats!

My updates - I have had my appointment come through for the recurring miscarriage clinic in March. So that's a start.
Since having my miscarriage at the start of the month we decided we Wanted try again immediately. I've had a long cycle since the first day of bleeding and have now had a positive clear blue digital this morning so if it's accurate, ovulation is imminent. Have got quite bad ovulation pain actually - started last night and is still there - don't normally have that but it's on the right hand side low down and is quite a constant pain.
Not going to stress about it this month and just go with the flow. It's my 40th on Tuesday and I was feeling really down yesterday as I really wanted to be pregnant by the time I turned 40, but hey Ho, it was not to be...
let's see what the new year and my 40s brings! X

CatCaretaker · 24/01/2024 12:14

@JC084 sorry to hear about your miss carriage at the start of the month, but hopefully the miscarriage clinic will be able to help provide answers. I empathise with the sadness at the milstone missed. When we started ttc early last year I convinced myself I'd be pregnant by the end of the year, at least. When that milstone passed with no btp it was hard.

CatCaretaker · 24/01/2024 12:21

I have a weird one, that I'm hoping maybe some of you knowledgeable ladies could give me advice on. Today is 14/15 dpo, and despite normal AF stuff (sore boobs, some spotting) AF hasn't arrived. Aside from BFP (which this isn't) are there any reasons why AF just ... wouldn't arrive?

I'm 38, but high AMH, so I don't think it could be perimenopause. LH tests showed ovulation did occur. I've never had any uterine issues or surgery, so no scarring (which, according to Google, could cause ovulation without AF). What else could be going on? I have a vague memory of similar happening very occasionally over the years, but I wasn't always tracking my cycle so closely, so can't confirm exactly if / when ovulation occurred in those cases. The Doctor thinks I have borderline PCOS, but if I did ovulate could that prevent AF altogether? Could I have had an LH surge without ovulation? Confused 😕

Lalaland13 · 24/01/2024 12:44

I had two longer cycles than normal @CatCaretaker in October and November, was usually 28/29 days but has 33 and 35 days but then December was back to normal! No idea why it happened but was very confusing at the time!

Lalaland13 · 24/01/2024 12:53

Finger crossed for a sticky BFP for you asap @JC084 but good to get the ball rolling also incase you don’t.

i had hoped to have had another baby by time I was 39…. It’s September so it’s not happening now! Trying to stay positive - and just get a positive!

Do you have any plans for your 40th? X

CatCaretaker · 24/01/2024 13:15

Thanks @Lalaland13 yes, very odd. Do you know if it was your follicular or luteal phase that was longer in October and November?

RoseH36 · 24/01/2024 13:25

@Fullofconfusion thank you

@Bumblebee413 I was always told if it's brown then it's ok as it's old blood. Red is more worrying so I'm glad it looks like it's settling for you. Just seen your post about you being a midwife, totally understand why you'd want to wait longer to be seen, not easy when it's your colleague around.

@JC084 I have so keeping everything crossed it sticks. So pleased you have an appointment booked in. Its funny you say about your right hand side, that's the only side I ever get any ovulation cramping and it's not every cycle so assume the ones I don't feel anything an egg is released from my left side... if that's how it works lol. Happy Birthday for Tuesday.

@CatCaretaker I've had a couple of longer cycles, only by a couple of days, but I had zero symptoms so was convinced I was pregnant

CatCaretaker · 24/01/2024 13:32

Thanks @RoseH36 and congratulations on your BFP!!

JC084 · 24/01/2024 13:44

@CatCaretaker - I went through a spell last year of Around 3 months where I had cycles of up to 40 Days. Not really sure why. Might have been because I lost weight and started exercising more again, but then they suddenly back to normal.

@RoseH36 - thank you! Going to enjoy the next week or so of celebrating and try not to stress about things I can't control.

@Lalaland13 thank you! I'm off to a training weekend with a party on Saturday night for my little side hustle that I love. Peaky blinders themed so can't wait to get dressed up!
Then away with my husband and daughter for a couple of days, and then the following weekend heading to Brighton with friends. Making the celebrations last 😂🥳

CatCaretaker · 24/01/2024 13:53

Sounds like a great week ahead @JC084, enjoy!

Lalaland13 · 24/01/2024 14:18

No idea @CatCaretaker - I’ve found the tracking ovulation a bit tricky tbh!

CatCaretaker · 24/01/2024 16:09

Fair enough @Lalaland13 the whole thing is a confusing minefield! Thanks for your response though, at least I know it happens to others!

Bumblebee413 · 24/01/2024 16:26

@JC084 that sounds like a wonderful week ahead- enjoy!! Also, Happy Birthday for Tuesday. I hear so many women saying how excellent 40s are.

@CatCaretaker no insight I’m afraid, but I occasionally get very long ones every couple of months (last one 49 days) and things hopefully still seem to be working.

I’ve got no loss today and line progression on cheapie sticks, so I think it was implantation bleeding after all that fuss 😳 Thank you all for being so lovely and supportive, I really appreciate it x

RoseH36 · 24/01/2024 17:22

@Bumblebee413 don't be daft, it's a nervous time. I had a panic earlier when nothing came up on a cheapie stick but it just took time to develop. Praying the progesterone helps, although it's horrible to use x

RoseH36 · 24/01/2024 17:24

@JC084 I think that's the best way to be, although I hate having no control over anything we're all going through. Sounds like you have some great plans 😊 x

JC084 · 24/01/2024 17:27

@RoseH36 May I ask when you were given the progesterone? Was it from your Gp? I feel like this could be the way forwards for me. They did say they'll look at that in the clinic and then prescribe it if needed. I'm just wondering if there's anything I can do just in the off chance I get a BFP before my appointment at the end of March x

CurlyWurly1991 · 24/01/2024 18:41

Hi all
@RoseH36@Bumblebee413 congratulations on your BFPs!! Xx

im back after my surgical management of a MMC just over 2 weeks ago, I would have been 9 weeks+. I’m convinced it was caused by me catching covid at 5-6 weeks. The baby stopped developing around 6w3d, I had a temperature and was bed bound then.
really not sure if we want to continue TTC or stop and be grateful for what we have. Had a lot of doubts once we got the bfp in early dec, while I was over the moon (as was dh) I started to worry about the negative impacts on dd (10).
having the MMC and time in hospital made me worry about our lack of local family support and again the negatives for our existing child.
lots of practical worries but then an overwhelming urge to have another baby that will not go away. Life would certainly be easier cheaper and less stressful if we didn’t!
I know we are blessed to already have a child.
just wondered if anyone else could relate?

RoseH36 · 24/01/2024 18:51

@JC084 I was prescribed it by the consultant at the recurrent miscarriage clinic. Back in November it didn't help me but I didn't get a positive until the day AF was due and it was incredibly faint. It didn't darken the next day and by the 3rd it was negative. I'd managed to get my prescription the day I had the positive test.

This time round the tests picked things up 4 days before AF was due (which would have been tomorrow) so it's had much more chance to get to work this time so far.

@CurlyWurly1991 thank you and I hope you're doing ok. Totally understand you, we made a decision to only try for a few more months before deciding to be grateful for DS. I'd feel so sad for him not having a sibling but it's mentally exhausting going on this journey which has so far been 16 months. I said i wanted to give progesterone a proper chance and if this doesn't work out then I'm not sure if we'll try again.
