Anyone ttc in 2024 after loss?

Lost my perfect little baby at the end of October. I was 15 weeks, baby was gone since 13 weeks. Planning to start ttc again in January. I am devastated and finding it hard to cope. Also extremely nervous about being pregnant again. Yet the need to have a living baby in my arms, outweighs the crippling fear. This little baby was my first too.

Can I ask a question... I'm on CD11 of my first full cycle following MC. I've had a negative pregnancy test and started having EWCM which I get quite a lot of in days up to ovulation (sorry if tmi!) so hoping TTC had a chance this cycle. Thing is I'm still having spotting post MC! Medical management was like 5.5 weeks ago so guess it's still in the window of "to be expected", but that assumed as my cycle seems to be resuming properly that spotting would have stopped?! Had anyone else had this? DH and I have only just started DTD again since, so could be this maybe, cervical irritation? Anyway, just wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing similar??

I'm spotting so I think I'm going to get my AF in the next few days feel so gutted still hoping but I think it's VERY unlikely.

@Bey my first pregnancy ever , unfortunately it was a loss, I had implantation bleeding, like bright red - basically going against the grain of what implantation bleeding is supposed to like and it turned out I was pregnant. So don't lose hope. And if it is your period, you can join us all next month for the next time and the next hope.

Thanks lovely @Ella31 im still hoping a little but I think im probably in denial.

does anyone know if theres any truth in your finger going black under your wedding ring meaning you're pregnant?

Ella31 · 09/01/2024 14:31

Ladies need your advice - just got high lh and flashing smiley on purple opk - 2 days after period. Not pregnant, had full proper period. Is it possible I didn't ovulate last week and its trying again? Do I dtd?

moosey89 · 09/01/2024 14:37

@Ella31 sounds like you're headed towards ovulation so no harm in dtd!

Is it weird that it's so soon after my period? I wonder is it just my cycle being all over the place after the birth

moosey89 · 09/01/2024 14:50

@Ella31 honestly I'm not sure, I know some ladies who have ovulated around day 9/10 so it's not impossible.

Bey · 09/01/2024 18:06

@Ella31 i think 2 of my pregnancies were conceived just as AF stopped so you might have ovulated early. No harm in trying earlier anyway

Thanks @Bey do you reckon I didn't ovulate the last time so? Would have been christmas eve.

How are you doing today?

Bey · 09/01/2024 18:50

@Ella31 im not sure about that sorry. I dont track with OPKs because im still breastfeeding my toddler and it says they're not accurate if you are bf. So I'm not an expert. I think I conceived on day 9 or 10 of my cycle. We tend to dtd around then but also day 14 as a minimum and as many other times as we can lol.

im driving myself actually crazy. I've been spotting every day I wish my period would just arrive so I could accept it and love forward for next cycle. I've been an idiot and taken a first response test. I think there's a faint line, BUT is that just hormones from the miscarriage even though they tested me at the hospital on the 2nd and it was negative could this still be showing from then?

i don't know what to think, I'm obsessed I can barely concentrate at work it's all i can think about and the fact that im spotting every day can't be a good sign.

@Bey how confusing! The waiting is so hard, totally agree. Do you know roughly when you ovulated this cycle? I believe hospitals usually test urine at 25miu and FRER is 6miu, I think, so much more sensitive. Could you test with a 25miu and see if that picks anything up?

Hopingrae · 09/01/2024 19:19

@Ella31 do you usually get a build up over a few days? I only test with the clear blues that are smiley or blank, so not sure how long flashing smileys can build up for?! I've had positive opks at CD10 before. I'm CD12 today so hoping I'm only a couple of days away from ovulation.

I dont really know but could guess around the 2nd. So the test I used was more sensitive than the hospital and that's why it's still showing from the miscarriage do you think?

Hopingrae · 09/01/2024 19:25

@Bey yeah I wondered if that might be a possibility as they're super sensitive... Best bet I guess is take another one in a day or two and check line progression?

I have ordered some 25mIU strips from amazon so they will come tomorrow I'll try that. I think it's just from the miscarriage. I'm stupid I should never have taken one.

Hopingrae · 09/01/2024 19:47

@Bey it's all just so bloody hard. You're definitely not stupid! And there is a chance it could be a new pregnancy, for sure. I'm so sorry I jumped in with talking about the sensitivity of the tests, probably not helpful at all!! I cried in front of my manager today as she asked how I was, which felt like a massively loaded question (it wasn't, she was just being nice), I think it's because it's my first tracked ovulation since my latest loss and the prospect of TWW followed by disappointment is too much. I so hope we all get our BFPs very very soon!

Bey · 09/01/2024 19:52

I'm glad you did @Hopingrae as I didn't know that about the tests being different sensitivities so it was helpful actually.
im sorry you got upset at work im sure your manager will understand. We're humans not robots.

, im struggling as no one at work knows as it happened whilst I was on annual leave anyway. Every time anyone mentions anything near what would have been my due date I feel so upset as I start thinking I would have been going on to mat leave by then.

Ella31 · 09/01/2024 19:56

@bey that looks positive to me. Did you test before this and were they blank because there's your answer. Fingers crossed for you?

@Hopingrae crying is good and I'm glad you let loose. The emotions we feel with loss is so bloody intense.

This just seems very soon after my period, like 2 days after but it is a while since I had a period so maybe I do build up.

No, I was tested in hospital and told it was negative, but stupidly didn't realise those tests are less sensitive so I've probably just got a line because it's more sensitive and it's left over hormones. Wish I could stop obsessing so much

Gracie1825 · 09/01/2024 20:34

@Bey thats what I'm dreading... I think either keep testing with the sensitive one and it will get stronger if new pregnancy.
Testing with a less sensitive test will probably show a negative but that doesn't mean that your not and the levels may just have to grow more... I think either way you need new more days and a few more tests to get more confidence in result
Im convinced I have symptoms but trying to hold off testing for longer as only 7dpo at a guess

I'll hold off a few more days and if no period will test again but I think because I've been spotting every day it's unlikely to be a new pregnancy. My heads such a mess.

fingers crossed for you. What symptoms have you noticed?

Gracie1825 · 09/01/2024 20:56

@Bey it's such a head melt..I think this first tww is probably the toughest as its still so far. Symptoms are increased urination, fatigue and itchy nipples but only a bit( that's usually my tell tale sign.
Keeping fingers crossed still for both of us

Nic2908 · 09/01/2024 21:03

@Gracie1825 @Bey I have everything crossed that it’s great news. Remember if there is a thread that is full of luck it’s this one.

someone at work asked me if I was pregnant today. I’m not. I wanted to punch her.
