Anyone ttc in 2024 after loss?

Lost my perfect little baby at the end of October. I was 15 weeks, baby was gone since 13 weeks. Planning to start ttc again in January. I am devastated and finding it hard to cope. Also extremely nervous about being pregnant again. Yet the need to have a living baby in my arms, outweighs the crippling fear. This little baby was my first too.

@Gracie1825 @Bey I have everything crossed that it’s great news. Remember if there is a thread that is full of luck it’s this one.

someone at work asked me if I was pregnant today. I’m not. I wanted to punch her.

Thank you and I am so sorry that happened to you today! I bet you did, well done for managing not to punch her. People are so insensitive.

I literally want to run out of the room when anyone starts discussing pregnancy in work as I was quite open about wanting another close in age to
our toddler so people are probably expecting me to be at some point and I'm scared of someone asking and me bursting into tears or something

No, I was tested in hospital and told it was negative, but stupidly didn't realise those tests are less sensitive so I've probably just got a line because it's more sensitive and it's left over hormones. Wish I could stop obsessing so much

I'm in Ireland so not sure how it works elsewhere, but I would go to your gp and get a hcg blood test done to test how strong it is. Can you do that where you are?

@Bey how confusing! The waiting is so hard, totally agree. Do you know roughly when you ovulated this cycle? I believe hospitals usually test urine at 25miu and FRER is 6miu, I think, so much more sensitive. Could you test with a 25miu and see if that picks anything up?

So I've taken a 25mIU one that I ordered off Amazon and I thought BFN but there's the faintest of lines so I really don't know what to think!

@Bey oo...if it was BFN at the hospital then this has to be a new pregnancy, right?! There's a definite line there! eek maybe test again in a couple of days to double check progression? But that seems promising! Will keep every finger and type crossed for you!

Bey · 10/01/2024 16:16

Thanks lovely @Hopingrae I feel like I'm on such a rollercoaster I've had spotting every day but no actual period yet. I'm so confused. I would love to think it's a new pregnancy but the spotting is causing me doubt. I will test again over the next few days if AF doesn't arrive.

Ella31 · 10/01/2024 18:29

Ladies back again for advise, so now I've started spotting pinkish blood.

So quick recap. Had emergency section 9 weeks ago. Opk's said I ovulated on the 26th December, dtd but got my period last Thursday, bleeding stopped 3 days ago, got a flashing smiley on clearblue opk yesterday and then today I start spotting pink blood and I've cramps. I'm so confused. Took a pregnancy test and of course its blank but I've no idea what's going on.

Hopingrae · 10/01/2024 19:30

@Bey spotting is a funny one, I've literally only just stopped spotting since MC, although had a period in between and ovulated. Bodies do funny things to get back into their own rhythm. Could be implantation bleeding maybe? Good idea to do another test and see how things go.

@Ella31 how confusing for you, maybe cycles getting back into their rhythm taking a bit of time?

I've had a tricky day, my sister in law had a baby girl this morning and it as good as broke me. And I feel terrible for it. Really wasn't expecting to feel like that. I've been ok with pregnant friends and my neighbours new born. Now the family WhatsApp group is going crazy with baby love and I'm trying to block it out. It bloody hurts. I'm am happy for them, it's just mixed with other emotions.

@Bey I think it's a possible positive but don't want to get your hopes up either, but I'm eagerly waiting to see your update and have every finger and toe crossed for you xxx

@Hopingrae when someone is pregnant close within families, it's so hard. I hope you do something nice for yourself tonight , also just remember, you,ll be in that position soon. As my DH keeps saying, it's not "if" it's "when"

Also can you mute the family group , just for a while to give yourself breathing space.

Hopingrae · 10/01/2024 21:44

@Ella31 thank you. I love what your husband said, that's a lovely way to look at it. He's holding our hope! WhatsApp group muted too! x

Bey · 10/01/2024 21:47

@Hopingrae aw you poor thing that's such a tough one. Be kind to yourself and allow yourself to feel how you feel. Your feelings are valid and whatever you do don't feel bad for feeling how you feel that just puts more bad feeling on top of feeling bad.

This will get easier in time. It will be you soon

Nic2908 · 10/01/2024 22:57

@Hopingrae huge virtual hug aimed your way. What makes you happy? Maybe concentrate on that for the next couple of days?

Hopingrae · 11/01/2024 07:33

@Bey @Nic2908 thanks so much. My DS slept through last night which has helped! Busy day at work today but I'm off tomorrow so will get a chance to chill out. @Nic2908 I'm starting a yoga course soon which I'm looking forward to and hoping that brings some zen into my life!

DH is away with work and he's back this eve, I got peak opk yesterday so hoping if we DTD this eve we're in with a chance. What do you girls reckon? Otherwise we'll feel like we've missed our first real chance since MC!

Bey · 11/01/2024 08:40

AF arrived this morning 😢💔 feel like such an idiot

miamiamia869 · 11/01/2024 08:50

Hi all. I haven't caught up with all messages but hope you don't mind me jumping on. I too had a misscarriage with My first pregnancy in November at 12 weeks. Was a missed misscarriage baby had died weeks earlier. Like most of us I guess was convinced I would be pregnant straight after and that's what got me through. I know I am about to get my second af since that misscarriage. Been staring at stark white pregnant tests trying to convince myself it's a line but really it's as stark white as can be!!. This really is a hard hard roller coaster we are all on xx

moosey89 · 11/01/2024 09:53

@Bey that sucks, but don't feel like an idiot! Happens to loads of us. Take it easy on yourself the next few days and you'll feel a little better once hormones level out again after your period. Big hugs xx

Ladies I'm really struggling today. As you know I got my period last Thurs - 9 weeks postpartum, it ended on Monday - 3 days ago but yesterday I had light pink discharge, very light - just a wipe on tissue and felt a bit crampy. I'm so anxious that something is wrong , and will this effect my chance to conceive again. I'm only 33. Everything on the Internet is negative when I look it up. I didn't sleep a wink last night worrying.

Bey · 11/01/2024 14:07

Thank you @moosey89 & @Ella31

@Ella31 im so sorry you're having a rough time, I'm sorry I don't know the answer to your questions but I would think it's your body still getting settled hormones are funny things. You're still very very young in terms of your fertility. Could you get a doctors appointment for some advice?

sending you love it's so rough ttc after losses 😞

mamataylor · 11/01/2024 16:44

Hi Ladies, I hope you don’t mind me joining?

I experienced a miscarriage late November at 9 weeks. I also have one little girl who is 2.5. I’m on CD14 following my first period after my miscarriage.

My first pregnancy with my daughter was so textbook but I feel this time will be overshadowed with worry and anxiety due to miscarrying our last baby. So I definitely feel like I’ll find comfort in this thread knowing you ladies are going through the same.

Sending lots of baby dust and love to you all ♥️

Hopingrae · 11/01/2024 17:34

@Bey I'm so sorry AF arrived, that must have been so hard especially with the tests. You are 100% not an idiot. On to a fresh cycle, hope you're feeling ok this eve and sending a hand hold your way.

Hopingrae · 11/01/2024 17:37

@Ella31 it's so hard when our bodies don't seem to be doing what we feel they should be. I really struggled with my continuous spotting, I didn't know what it meant or why it was happening. It has stopped eventually, but only very recently and that was with a period in between as well. Can you speak to gp or midwife team to check for some advice? Sorry you're struggling x

Hopingrae · 11/01/2024 17:40

@miamiamia869 @mamataylor welcome to the thread and so sorry for your losses.

@miamiamia869 my first pregnancy was a MMC too and I remember so well the next couple of cycles staring at tests until my eyes went funny willing a line to be there. I really feel for you. I did go on to have DS 3 cycles after MMC. So there's hope. I'm now TTC #2 and had a couple of losses again, I'm 39 so think it's been very bad luck. Sending baby dust your way.

Spoke to gp today, they didn't seem concerned. My lh is definitely rising and there was a little pink blood in the cervical mucus today.
