TTC after ectopic/after loss/older age etc ALL WELCOME 🙂

Hello,

Would anyone like to join a thread for TTC after ectopic/miscarriage, or when facing other challenges eg age, PCOS etc? DP and I have just decided to try again for no2, and I'm going to come off the pill. It would be nice to have some buddies to share experiences and support each other 🙂

About me:

Pregnancy 1: conceived first cycle age 35, healthy pregnancy, DS born summer 2021 (now age 2)

Pregnancy 2: conceived first cycle age 37, ectopic, surgery November 2022

My plan is to eat well, exercise, cut out alcohol, and generally look after myself.

Because I got pregnant quickly both times, I'm hoping our chances are still good...no idea how only having the one fallopian tube is going to affect things 😬

I think I'll do OPKs but not sure about temping yet.

Would love to hear from others!

@Confusedddddddd Not at ell, I think you need to enjoy your life as usual while TTC, helps the time go quicker if nothing else

I woke up to a pinkish/reddish bleed this morning. Trying not to get my hopes up thinking it’s implantation but it’s hard! My AF’s do start like this too though and I am crampy so maybe my body is still adjusting from coming off the pill and doing weird things. I’m not ready for another period, I’m only CD17/8dpo!

@Confusedddddddd yeah I don't think it matters too much tbh, I think if an egg wants to stick itself down, it will. I drank all through my ectopic and it didn't shift it haha (although not to excess, maybe I should have tried the whisky).

The kids bring all sorts from school I don’t understand why people don’t just keep their kids at home if they are sick why do they send them in surely they know their kids need rest.
There are way too many people in our school that send their sick children into school. 🙄

Bleeding is getting heavier and bright red so seems I’m out this month.. the pill has clearly done wacky things to my body 😔

Ah sorry to hear that @MrsB2019x how disappointing. I think my AF will be here by the weekend as well. So we can be cycle buddies. Trying to look at this month as a 'bonus attempt' anyway, seeing as it was straight off the pill.

Has anyone read 'it starts with the egg?', I see it recommended a lot.

Think I need to get my head around this taking longer than with DS and make sure I'm looking after myself, physically and mentally. I'd already thought about this before the 2ww started... and then I went kind of crazy haha! So I'm going to try to be more consistent with routines, going out running (a constant cough hasn't helped), eating well and basically having good habits to help deal with the stress/have a positive side to it.

i am doing ok thank you @YellowZ, trying to keep positive but the anxiety is creeping in. I had a blood test today, with another booked in for Friday to see if my HCG is doubling. Sadly, with the weekend, I won’t receive the results until Monday so a weekend of distractions is required!

You definitely need to take care of yourself, TTC is hard both physically and mentally. I’ve not read the book but have been told it is really useful.

How is everyone else doing?

I am cycle day 7 of month one, so I will start ovulation testing in the next couple of days I think.

Hi all... So a shocked update from me. Some of you might remember I had a MC at Halloween. Was my third loss this year and it was a query ectopic due to low hcg but never confirmed and eventually righted itself without any intervention. Anyway, after that, I decided I just needed a month or two off thinking about it all. So... This month... No ovulation tracking, had a couple of very hot baths, wine, rough-housing with my toddler... (You can guess where this is going..)

Last night I was ravenous, and suddenly thought to check my dates. I wasn't overly bothered because I know a loss can send your cycle a bit erratic, however I was pretty sure I'd ovulated around CD14 as usual because I had a mega spot appear. We dtd CD17 and 19... I'm CD32 - AF normally at CD28/29. It's my work Christmas party this eve so I thought I'd better check just in case... And... !!!

Don't need to tell anyone on this thread that I am feeling extremely cautious about this - but part of me can't help thinking this egg has really done it's best to get here with me doing F all to help!! So.... 😬 Early scan booked for a few days before Christmas... So that could be tough if it's bad news, but, maybe the festive season will be a nice distraction in the run-up etc. I will deal with whatever comes. Really hoping this is a sticky one though 🤞🏻

@SnookyPook what a lovely update! This made me smile. Congratulations, hope it all goes swimmingly for you. So... you're saying wine and hot baths is the way to go... 🤔 I like that advice! ☺️ Will you let us know how your scan goes?

So much of making a baby involves anxious waits! Or uncomfortable ones.

@Nic2908 the book is about the things you can do to (supposedly) improve egg quality. What supplements and so on.

I think I'll give it a read. I can always share the main points on here.

I'm 5 dpo today and in full blown itching to POAS mode!

I'm officially two years in to TTC first baby but had a break from June till now. Really trying not to get too caught up in it again because it was actually really nice to not think about it for those 5 months.

I'm just going to let nature take its course, no ovulation testing etc.

How many DPO are you?

@overthinkersanonnymus welcome! I know that feeling too well 😂. I go from "I'm not testing this cycle" to "one won't hurt" to "ah well, I've already done one, might as well keep going" very rapidly each month!

@overthinkersanonnymus sorry it's taking so long. You don't have to share if you'd prefer not to, but is there an underlying issue? Or just, it hasn't been your lucky month yet?

No AF here yet, I'm 13dpo. Think it'll be today or tomorrow. My nipples are less sore, they usually stop hurting just before AF comes. Sorry for the tmi haha.

I'm considering not testing until my period is due next month 😳not sure what would be worse, a bfn every day, or not knowing until my period arrives.

Woke up this morning to lots of EWCM but a low on the digital OPK. Haven't taken a strip one yet. This obviously has to happen the day my mother in law is arriving at lunch time 😅 hopefully we can manage to DTD before she gets here just in case!

I've had bloods done but no further investigations. I'm not sure I want to to be honest.

Feeling a bit nauseous today but that's probably just in my head!
