Hello,

Would anyone like to join a thread for TTC after ectopic/miscarriage, or when facing other challenges eg age, PCOS etc? DP and I have just decided to try again for no2, and I'm going to come off the pill. It would be nice to have some buddies to share experiences and support each other 🙂

About me:

Pregnancy 1: conceived first cycle age 35, healthy pregnancy, DS born summer 2021 (now age 2)

Pregnancy 2: conceived first cycle age 37, ectopic, surgery November 2022

My plan is to eat well, exercise, cut out alcohol, and generally look after myself.

Because I got pregnant quickly both times, I'm hoping our chances are still good...no idea how only having the one fallopian tube is going to affect things 😬

I think I'll do OPKs but not sure about temping yet.

Would love to hear from others!

@YellowZ @Bugdem123 thank you for putting my mind at rest, I thought I was seeing things! I am not allowing myself to get excited after the ectopic, do you have any recommendations for tests? I have always used clearblue but worried it’s too early.

Sorry to hear about your tests @YellowZ the dreaded evaps! You never know as it’s still early!

YellowZ · 27/11/2023 08:07

I think the boots early tests are supposed to be good @Lostlawyer26 or a FRER (first response). The superdrug early ones I've also been using are shite btw, with weird purple dye and teensy windows, so don't bother with those! I reckon you might get a positive on a clear blue early/early digital judging by that line on your boots test there?

CatCaretaker · 27/11/2023 08:29

@MoonstoneGoddess & @Loz1006 Joe are things going with you guys?

@YellowZ ugh, sorry about the evap lines. The 2ww is soul destroying.

@Lostlawyer26 I see the line too, and it looks pink to me. Fingers crossed for you!

Bugdem123 · 27/11/2023 08:35

I like the boots early response ones - they're pink dye and showed up quite early for me.

There's also a clear blue ultra early digital I think it's called - it has a light in it to tell you when to stop dipping/peeing. I got a positive on that at 11 DPO. Don't waste your time with the clear blue line ones yet.

Wondfo also isn't bad.

Yes, I do have a pregnancy test problem 😅

YellowZ · 27/11/2023 09:01

Hey @CatCaretaker thanks...yeah it sucks having your hopes raised like that. Think I'll try to wait longer next month before POAS, and have 2 brands to cross-check.

@lucie1987 Hope you're ok too x

@lemonyfox you too, how are things?

MrsB2019x · 27/11/2023 09:47

@YellowZ That’s just bloody cruel!

@Lostlawyer26 Not even a squinter! Congratulations 🎉

I was laid in bed last night feeling really sick and was wondering oooh could this be something? Then remembered I was only 5dpo yesterday and gave my head a wobble 😂

lemonyfox · 27/11/2023 09:55

Hey @CatCaretaker thanks for checking in.

I had two blood tests Weds and Fri at the hospital last week, my HCG levels were 7 and 29 respectively. So the hospital are confused, as the levels are way too low but they are more than doubling. Because I'm not in pain or actively bleeding they've asked me to come back for a repeat test on Friday.

It's frustrating because I know the signs and I've been through this before, it's definitely an ectopic, but the hospital can't treat it yet until they are certain. My home pregnancy tests are also getting darker every day but they're still so so so faint, not what they would be for a normal pregnancy with normal HCG levels.

Just trying to get on with life and ignore it all for now!

CatCaretaker · 27/11/2023 09:59

@lemonyfox oh that's terribly upsetting and frustrating! I'm sorry. Wishing you a short week!

Loz1006 · 27/11/2023 10:27

@CatCaretaker Thanks for checking in! How are things with you going?

Sorry I haven't been very active on this thread, been trying to distract myself any way possible!

So my update:

HCG increased by 146% from 260 to 640 which is promising so I now have a scan booked for Tuesday 5th, seems like a long wait, especially still having the left sided pain. It's going to be a nervy day.

I feel like my symptoms are such a mystery.

I don't know my day of ovulation but believe it to be around day 19/20. Which would put me around 5 weeks at the moment.

The left sided pain started 6 days before I tested positive which could have been just 6 days after ovulation. Seems so early for pain, and with ectopic shoulder pain does it not usually come after a rupture? I feel well apart from the pain. The pain comes and goes at varying levels when I feel it should be getting worse as my HCG increases

So confused and just want to know as my gut says that's it's ectopic, unless the consistent pain is phantom and all in my head 😔

@YellowZ my last pregnancy (ectopic miscarriage), I tested positive at 9dpo but this time it was after I believe AF was due so even if this is ectopic I think it's a complete lottery as to when tests will be positive! Hope you get you BFP soon! The waiting around is so hard.

@Lostlawyer26 definitely positive! Congrats 🎉

@lemonyfox sorry to hear your also going through this horrible waiting game! What are your symptoms? Hope you get some answers soon

lemonyfox · 27/11/2023 11:32

@Loz1006 other than some slight left sided cramps, which is the side I have my remaining tube on, I feel perfectly normal!

lemonyfox · 27/11/2023 11:39

Other other than the obvious ectopic symptom, I had a period last week. A full normal period, not implantation bleeding. Which is the biggest giveaway as my periods always continue like normal when I have an ectopic! It's why I never knew I was even pregnant the first two times.

YellowZ · 27/11/2023 16:51

@lemonyfox and @Loz1006 urgh! Sorry you're both going through this. Loz - I'm still hoping it's a good outcome for you and the pain is just a flukey pregnancy thing. Lemony, those hcg results are baffling.

Most likely I've just had some evaps but I am slightly scared of another 'positive' now in case it gets my hopes up again/it's not the good kind of bfp.

DS was up at 4am, snoozed (snored) for a while in our bed and got up at 6. Then refused his mid-day nap. We've had shit sleep for a week, being tired isn't helping me cope - think things will seem brighter once I've had some sleep 😴

Just checking in, how are we all doing?

YellowZ · 28/11/2023 11:41

Morning! Thanks for checking in. BFN so...I don't know. I think it's not our month. Ah well! The bright side is I ovulated and my progesterone seemed ok based on the urine tests. When will you test @MrsB2019x?

I think because we conceived first cycle for my other 2 pregnancies it was bound to raise my expectations for this month too!

OP posts:
Confusedddddddd · 28/11/2023 11:46

@Loz1006 could your pain be a corpus luteum cyst maybe? My experience after my ectopic was that everything is just a lot more sensitive in the pelvis after.

MrsB2019x · 28/11/2023 13:15

Might still just be too early @YellowZ , you never know!

I’m planning to hold out until Friday when I’ll be 10DPO… that’s the plan anyway 😂

YellowZ · 28/11/2023 14:14

Haha I know @MrsB2019x that's what I'd say if it were someone else, too. Good luck for Friday (if you make it that far). I think once you start testing it's v v v v hard to control the urge to keep testing all the time 😳

OP posts:
CatCaretaker · 28/11/2023 14:18

@Loz1006 z1006 keeping my fingers crossed for you that everything is OK, and there's no ectopic after all.

@YellowZ I've lost track, how many DPO are you now?

TMI, but finally entering ovulation phase with ewcm, so will start testing in a day or 2.

YellowZ · 28/11/2023 15:20

@CatCaretaker toot toot for ovulation!

I'm only 10dpo, but I'm just not 'feeling it'. Kinda looking forward to AF starting (and hopefully not getting a bfp after my period like I did with the ectopic) and having a glass of wine haha!

OP posts:
CatCaretaker · 28/11/2023 16:12

@YellowZ oh the wine! The number of events that occurred during the 2w waits this year, including my fbstfriend's wedding, and I couldn't drink at any of them 😭, and all for nothing!

Fingers roasted for no BFP after AF (or no AF at all!).

CatCaretaker · 28/11/2023 20:15

crossed*, not roasted!

YellowZ · 28/11/2023 20:21

@CatCaretaker 😂😂 how did I not notice the typo the first time I read it?

OP posts:
Confusedddddddd · 28/11/2023 21:54

Is it terrible that I continue to drink (in moderation) during the tww? It took 6 months with DD, and we're on our 5th cycle this time, and I feel like the having an explanation for not drinking just adds unnecessary stress.

Unrelated to wine, my flipping LH surge has gone on 4 days now. It's usually a quick, sharp 24 thing. This cycle is weird.

Annonomous29 · 28/11/2023 23:23
