TTC after ectopic/after loss/older age etc ALL WELCOME 🙂

Hello,

Would anyone like to join a thread for TTC after ectopic/miscarriage, or when facing other challenges eg age, PCOS etc? DP and I have just decided to try again for no2, and I'm going to come off the pill. It would be nice to have some buddies to share experiences and support each other 🙂

About me:

Pregnancy 1: conceived first cycle age 35, healthy pregnancy, DS born summer 2021 (now age 2)

Pregnancy 2: conceived first cycle age 37, ectopic, surgery November 2022

My plan is to eat well, exercise, cut out alcohol, and generally look after myself.

Because I got pregnant quickly both times, I'm hoping our chances are still good...no idea how only having the one fallopian tube is going to affect things 😬

I think I'll do OPKs but not sure about temping yet.

@YellowZ I'm doing ok thanks, spotting seems to have finally stopped the last couple of days and got sore boobs today so think things are moving on hormonally, I hope! I'm due to poas tomorrow and epu will rescan me still positive. But I feel like things are moving in the right direction finally.

@Bumblesbee84 when in your cycle do you normally get sore boobs? Glad the spotting has stopped. Feels really weird writing this, but good luck for a negative test.

@YellowZ I normally get sore boobs a few days before AF. I'm not sure if it's one of those random things or if AF is coming. Definitely not a new pregnancy as we've not DTD since pre miscarriage. don't think I've ovulated before now because of continuous spotting. Thanks for the luck, totally get what you mean, I'm hoping for negative too!

I still do not have my period so I have no idea what the hell is going on.. im cycle day 34 today. Poas again and it was negative. So I am clueless as to what the hell has happened with my cycle this month. 😥

Thanks @Nic2908 . Sorry it's been such a crappy cycle for you. Hopefully AF will come soon and you can have a fresh start. Sorry can't remember if you've said before, are you usually regular?

@YellowZ average around 29-30 days. Since my second trimester miscarriage in March I have had slightly longer cycles but still consistent. I really just want af at this point and be back to day one with a clean slate.

Thanks @MrsB2019x I got an absolute squinter this morning on PT, and DH couldn't actually see it. I'll repeat after the weekend but hoping all clear by then and just have to wait for AF to turn up.

@Nic2908 that's really frustrating that you don't know what's happening with your cycle. My previous MMC my cycles went immediately back to normal but totally different for me this time, this is technically CD28 today when AF would have come but I expect I'll be waiting another week or two at least. Hope you're not worrying too much longer.

First time TTC. Have quite bad endometriosis.

This will be month 1 for me! Going by my app, I ovulate Jan 4th.

Hello @GoldenArrow good luck for your first cycle! Will you be doing any tracking (ovulation tests, temping)?

Thanks @YellowZ :) normally I get fluid and higher sex driver around ovulation so will be mostly just trying and seeing what happens for a little while. I'm using Flo app and my periods are pretty accurate on there, so hoping my ovulation is accurate too. Its such early days, not expecting anything quick, but keep dreaming of a September baby all the same!

How is everyone doing?

I'm 6dpo now and have been getting sharp stab-like pains since yesterday evening 5
(5dpo). They are on the side (but still kind of in the middle) of my cyst which is also the side of my remaining tube so could be good, could be bad, could be nothing. I had similar type of pains more central and higher when I had a very early chemical a couple of cycles ago (but they didn't last as long), and also vaguely remember having them with DD. Just really trying not to get my hopes up too much, also been trying to enjoy the Xmas break.

@Confusedddddddd that could be symptoms of something, right? How right though, could be anything which is so frustrating... wish we could see into our bodies and know what's going on sometimes! Any plans to start testing soon or going to wait it out?!

I think first AF post MMC has arrived this morning. I've been feeling a bit crap which in hindsight was PMT symptoms. Bittersweet on it but ultimately I'm relieved my cycle is moving on and we can hopefully get TTCing in a few more days. Really hoping 2024 brings some better times for us all!

@Confusedddddddd I had a stabbing sensation too (which could have been entirely unrelated) keeping my fingers crossed for you!

@Bumblesbee84 hooray for AF! (Kind of) do you know when in your cycle you tend to ovulate? Hope it's on time.

Looking good here. Period officially late. Will wait the weekend and then call epu on Monday or Tuesday to find out what I need to do to get a scan.

@YellowZ yes it's definitely a strange relief. I usually ovulate around CD13. Really frustratingly, DH is away for a whole week with work and CD13 is the weds of that week! I know that ovulation might be a bit out of sync after MMC so we've agreed I'll just monitor it and any sign of a solid smiley he'll come back for a night! Thankfully he'll still be in the UK!

Your lines look great! All fingers firmly crossed. Good plan re calling EPU, will they give you an early reassurance scan? I know some defs do. Sadly my EPU said they don't do reassurance scans at all. So so rubbish.

@Bumblesbee84 I'll probably start testing tonight. I'm pretty terrible at early testing but also don't care, internet cheapies are cheap and it means I don't put my life on hold during TWW (drinking, carrying heavy things etc) as I soon as I get a line I stop all the bad stuff.

Glad for you AF has arrived, onwards and upwards for you now :)

@Bumblesbee84 ah no it's because my last pregnancy was ectopic. Once you've had one, you're at higher risk of another. You're advised to get an early scan to rule it out. Argh how frustrating your DP is away for fertile week... having said that we only dtd once when we conceived DS, the same day as a positive LH test. I was away for 3 nights after.

@YellowZ Ahh, that makes perfect sense hope and you don't have to wait too long for the scan. That's reassuring to know re your experience of timings of DTD... it only takes one go right?!

@Confusedddddddd I'm totally with you on that, I'd rather know ASAP so have a supply of Internet cheapies too! Good luck!

How's the testing going @Confusedddddddd ?

Well ladies not the celebrating I really wanted, but drum roll I finally got my period so back to day one!! I was cycle day 39. So bizarre.

@YellowZ thought I saw a faint line yesterday but think it's just an indent. Took a test with FMU this morning again I think I see something faint, but my pee turned the test yellow for some reason so hard to tell. Will take another tonight/tommorow. The stabbing pains have stopped though.

I've a ds 10 and dd 6 who were conceived no prob..after finally convincing my dh to try again ..we conceived first cycle but sadly
I had MMC earlier this month at 10 weeks . Had a scan at 7.5 and all was well so was a big shock. I had surgery week later so still waiting for my my body to be ready but want to try again asap. I am 41 so have no time to lose

Welcome @Gracie1825 and so sorry for you loss. I experienced the same with my most recent loss. We had a scan at 7.2 and saw a strong heartbeat. Sadly heartbeat had stopped at 9.3. Heartbreaking. My AF returned a couple of days ago after medical management, so hoping we can TTC again in Jan.

@Confusedddddddd keeping everything crossed with your next tests.

@Nic2908 finally, what a relief for you. My AF turned up yesterday and I feel like I'm moving on to next step now. Strangely positive. We're going in the right direction to TTC again.

Hi @Gracie1825 what a stressful time. Must be completely awful thinking you're almost home and dry and then having bad news like that at 12wks. Hopefully you'll conceive quickly again.

@Bumblesbee84 i know after first scan I googled and the risk was so much lower at that point I naively thought the best and I still had bad symptoms. It is heartbreaking..I am sorry for your loss
