Hello all,

A new cycle unfortunately started for me today. I really thought last cycle was going to be the one but unfortunately not the case and AF has shown her ugly face!

I had an early miscarriage in early September and this was the first cycle back TTC #1

Just wondering if anyone wants to join on the journey this month - always nice to be able to speak to people in the same situation!

Baby dust to all x

@MaryHua @Biscuitsarelife1

hope both of your appointments go well ✨

I'm feeling good! We BD a lot this cycle and we also used fertility lube & different vitamins.. so I feel like we've give it our best shot! I'm very much in the mindset of if it's meant to happen it will!

If not this month, my doctors want to run some blood tests to check my hormone levels at 2 different stages in the cycle, so at least if it's not this month I have something in place to get it checked!

Thank you @rosecbrm
Will hopefully have a nice update tomorrow with a more accurate due date too.

Sounds promising for you, and at least you have a plan in place so you know that you're not in limbo and can move forward with more information. How are you feeling about testing? X

MaryHua · 26/01/2024 13:27

Scan went well and little one measuring 11+3.
My due date is 13th August 🥰

Biscuitsarelife1 · 26/01/2024 13:29

@rosecbrm glad to hear you're good and sounding positive! Fingers crossed for you this month. It sounds good your doctor is taking you seriously too - hopefully it won't come to that though! :)

@MaryHua pleased to hear your scan went well too! I have mine Feb 20th but will be nearing 14 weeks as I was measuring ahead. By dates I'm 9 weeks today but by early scan measurements I'm 10 weeks tomorrow!

MaryHua · 26/01/2024 14:01

@Biscuitsarelife1 ah that must seem like an extra stretch, even that extra 2 weeks. Would you consider asking to be brought forwards?
How are you with symptoms at the moment? X

Biscuitsarelife1 · 26/01/2024 14:05

@MaryHua I may try actually, seems like such a long time away! I was always measuring ahead last time too and was nearly 14 weeks at that first scan too!

I'm okay, still nauseous and lots of dry heaving. Haven't been sick for about a week though. How about you?

MaryHua · 26/01/2024 14:35

Definitely worth enquiring about @Biscuitsarelife1 🙏
Oh bless you, you've had the full works! Thankfully I've never been sick, but retching on the worst days. And the nausea settled last week but returned this week with a vengeance. Really hoping by my second trimester starting that it settles properly as I'm due to return to work after some lovely time off. (Spent in bed) 😂

Biscuitsarelife1 · 26/01/2024 14:37

It's such a horrible feeling isn't it. I WFH a lot so just been hiding in my bed there! I think mine completely stopped around 16 weeks last time. It eased off at like 13/14 then I was really ill again for a week then felt amazing! Then had appendicitis at 19 weeks so was in hospital- such fun times lol! And yes still kept hold of my appendix @MaryHua

rosecbrm · 26/01/2024 16:13

@Biscuitsarelife1 @MaryHua thanks both!

Glad to hear your scan went well.

I'm feeling good testing wise, I must say i think this is probably the most relaxed I've been since TTC.. I think just having the reassurance that everything anatomically is ok, and a plan in place to check everything else really helps! Will keep you ladies updated - thanks so much for asking! X

OP posts:
MaryHua · 26/01/2024 16:29

@Biscuitsarelife1 crikey what a time of it you had! Appendicitis in the middle is scary! But good on you for getting through it.
Fingers crossed the second trimester is smooth sailing this time completely for you.

I work as a dentist so it's not a great job for weak stomachs so I'm really apprehensive about starting back but I'll just have to accept my limits.

@rosecbrm that's so good to hear that you're in a good place this cycle. I felt the same after having the anatomy scan. Such relief.
And I second what @Biscuitsarelife1 said. Your GP seems to really care and want to help with this matter if needed so that's a great comfort too.
Take care and keep yourself busy, as we all know what this 2WW feels like and can play tricks on us. It's horrible but please reach out if you want a chat/rant at any stage xx

rosecbrm · 26/01/2024 16:41

Thank you so much @MaryHua 🤍🤍

How are you @rosecbrm? CD 14 now? X

rosecbrm · 01/02/2024 14:45

@MaryHua hey! I'm 13dpo today, had negative tests so far and spotting so pretty sure AF is on the way soon.

Hope you're ok x

Ah sorry to hear @rosecbrm
Onwards now with the plan you have set in motion with your GP. Thinking of you x

rosecbrm · 01/02/2024 14:55

@MaryHua thank you. Yes I can't really moan to be honest as this was only our 4th month TTC since the miscarriage but it just feels like a long time..

Thank you, hopefully get the ball rolling a bit. Just need AF to hurry up and arrive now! X

How did you get on @rosecbrm xx

rosecbrm · 06/02/2024 19:16

@Biscuitsarelife1 hey lovely,

I’m good thanks, currently on CD5. Had my bloods back and FSH/ LH & TSH all seem relatively normal so thats a relief. Got repeat bloods on day 21 just to check my progesterone.

all of that being said though, I think we’re going to have to put TTC on hold (properly anyway) as it’s looking like I’m going to be moving jobs - even more stress that’s so unnecessary! But hubby doesn’t want this to make us put things on pause so I think it will be more of a casual TTC effort now.

Hope you’re both ok xx

MaryHua · 06/02/2024 19:35

Hi @rosecbrm
Good to see that your hormone levels are all appearing in normal limits at the moment. That's a big step and relief. Can be tricky to fine tune them if there is an issue.

Best of luck for the change of job! It's a lot to juggle at the same time, but may also prove to be a good distraction with something else to think about. If you conceive in the meantime, that's brilliant! And we will continue to have everything crossed for you that you will see a BFP very soon!
Take care lovely x

rosecbrm · 06/02/2024 19:50

@MaryHua thank you so much lovely, I completely agree!

Thank you, it’s very scary as I’ve been in the same job for 5yrs now and had no plans on leaving, but they’re making some company wide changes which unfortunately just don’t work for me. I haven’t been happy for a while now so I think it’s the push I needed.

Will keep you guys updated on the TTC front, thank you so much! X

OP posts:
MaryHua · 06/02/2024 22:15

Oh I completely understand that @rosecbrm
I recently left my job and am only doing a temporary job until my baby is born. A lot of insecurity but I just couldn't face the job any more. It carries over into every aspect of your life so well done you for taking this brave step!
Hope your new position brings you a lot more fulfilment ☺️

MaryHua · 27/02/2024 19:29

Hi @rosecbrm how are you keeping? Have you managed to progress with the next steps with your GP? X

rosecbrm · 27/02/2024 19:46

@MaryHua hi lovely I’m good thanks how are you?

Not majorly! Had my 21 day bloods last week but unfortunately they got rejected as they couldn’t take enough blood (never had that problem before so no idea why this nurse struggled!), so have to repeat again this month!

Bit of a spanner in the works though, had a call from the duty doctor a couple of weeks ago now to say that my initial blood tests show that my rubella immunity is negative (despite having both MMR jabs when I was younger!) so very strange. He has sent it off to obstetrics to see if I can have a top up dose as obviously if I was to catch it when pregnant it could cause severe problems. Waiting to hear back about that and if I do have to have a top up jab we have to put off TTC for a few months.

Start my new job in a couple of weeks though so I’m super excited about that, tbh the top up jab has fallen at the right time as I’d like to settle into my new job before starting TTC again.

Only issue now is that husband is quite down about the fact we’re having a break, but I’m trying to reassure him that it’s all for good reason and is necessary and he does understand but obviously is a shame as its out of our control!

Tbh, I feel like it’s the break I needed cause although it had only been 4 months TTC (5 including my MC), it was really starting to get to me and consume me!

Hope you guys are well and the pregnancies are all going ok? Thanks for checking in ❤️ xx

OP posts:
MaryHua · 27/02/2024 20:20

@rosecbrm wow that's a lot going on for you guys! Definitely a turn of events you weren't expecting, but I suppose in one way, the forced break could be a very good thing in the end.
I'm glad that you'll be able to focus entirely on the new job initially as not having the TTC stress immediately in your mind means you might settle in easier.
I empathise with your husband of course. It's quite cyclical I find. The stresses of TTC and fertility are shared between a couple, and often when one is finding it harder the other person is there to be stronger. Really hoping that with spring and summer weather round the corner that things pick up for you both and you can get back on track soon.

Fingers crossed that soon these set backs will all be a distant memory for you!

All ok with me, 16 weeks tomorrow but it's a long month to wait for the next scan so I'm just trying to get on about my days and not worry too much. Easier said than done!

Best of luck for the new job! 😊 xx

rosecbrm · 27/02/2024 20:48

@MaryHua thank you so much! Yes definitely not the turn of events we expected but I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and like you said hopefully one day this will all be a distant memory!

Ahh lovely, are you going to find out the gender? Glad you are keeping well xxx

OP posts:
MaryHua · 29/02/2024 12:56

That's a great attitude to have and I also believe the same @rosecbrm ☺️

We are going to keep gender a surprise until the birth. I've always wanted to do it this way but it will take all my willpower not to sneakily ask at the 20 weeks scan haha. Xx
