Hello all,

A new cycle unfortunately started for me today. I really thought last cycle was going to be the one but unfortunately not the case and AF has shown her ugly face!

I had an early miscarriage in early September and this was the first cycle back TTC #1

Just wondering if anyone wants to join on the journey this month - always nice to be able to speak to people in the same situation!

Baby dust to all x

First period since my 6th round of IVF, which resulted in my daughter, who is 1 on Sunday!

Came out of the blue as I am still breastfeeding!

Had a little cry this morning as it brought back memories and feelings.

I am now officially "fertile" again. I say it is quotes because we needed IVF.

We aren't using protection but we certainly can't afford any more IVF.

rosecbrm · 10/11/2023 07:45

@Biscuitsarelife1 same here trying not to worry too much!

Sorry I hadn't checked this thread this week!

I am CD10 today so will probably start OPKs today, the month I fell pregnant we did the SMEP method, so potentially will lightly follow that again! After an unsuccessful month last month I kind of just have the attitude it's going to happen when it does, but how long that will last for I'm not sure!

Hope everyone else is doing ok? Xx

@rosecbrm

I'm also CD10 and will start OPKs tomorrow, and then DTD every second day and try to stay calm and not count the days this month!
So much easier said than done!!

Baby dust! X

Biscuitsarelife1 · 10/11/2023 21:40

I'm CD11 and had positive OPK today and all the tell tale signs. I tend to ovulate day 11/12 so expecting it tomorrow I think. We have DTD CD 8,10 and trying to get him upstairs now (lol!). I struggle to get him to do it so much in the window he says it's too much pressure!

I just looked back at my Flo app from when we were TTC #1 and we literally DTD 6/7 times!

rosecbrm · 10/11/2023 22:54

@MaryHua same here! When do you visually ovulate?

@Biscuitsarelife1 ahh exciting!! Did you manage to get him upstairs? 😂

We've DTD CD7 & today (10) so far, usually ovulate around CD15/16!

This is supposed to say usually ovulate, not visually 😂

I’m cd9 today and we’ve dtd cd8 and will try to get in cd10, 11 and 13. I usually ovulate day 13-14.

MaryHua · 10/11/2023 23:21

@rosecbrm hahaha I did wonder what on earth visually meant?! 🤣🤣 thought it was some TTC term I hadn't come across yet!
So usually around CD 14/15 but last month it was later around CD16/17... so I will start OPKs tomorrow to help get an idea (I'll be CD 11)

rosecbrm · 11/11/2023 08:27

@MaryHua hahaha sorry, typing to quick! Our cycles sound pretty similar then!

@Biscuitsarelife1 ahh that's good, have you had your peak today?

@emmatcc1 sounds like you're covering all bases!

Happy Saturday ladies x

@rosecbrm I’m hoping for ovulation on day12 which is Monday so we can get in -2, -1 and the day after. I know I ovulate in early morning so the day before is pretty spot on, but dtd on Mondays is no go for us as they’re too stressful and my partner is too tired.

rosecbrm · 12/11/2023 11:47

Sounds good @emmatcc1!

I'm CD12 today, OPK was low this morning but that's normal for me around this time of the cycle, will DTD tonight to cover bases tho!

Tbh, this month feels weird.. I'm finding myself not thinking about it too much (compared to the past few anyway) and just keep thinking if it happens great, if it doesn't then it isn't our time. Not sure how long this is gonna last, I'm sure as soon as I'm in the TWW that will change!

MaryHua · 12/11/2023 11:52

@rosecbrm
I'm feeling very like you actually this month too! I'm definitely more "chilled" than last month, even having to remind myself to take OPKs... but you never know how I'll be by the end of the week.
We have a huge move planned across the country before Christmas so maybe that's taking up my focus.
I'm CD 11 at the moment and negatives so far.

MaryHua · 12/11/2023 11:54

@rosecbrm
I also miscalculated my CD before as AF came on the 2nd Nov but I kept counting from 1st Nov (as first day of the month) 🤦🏻‍♀️
So yeah, I'm a cycle day behind you

rosecbrm · 12/11/2023 13:21

@MaryHua sounds like we're in a really similar mindset! Is this for baby #1? X

My peak was Friday morning and I've ran out of tests now but deffo ovulated Friday afternoon/evening as I had the usual cramps I get however no near as bad as they usually are which is unusual! But I think that's all done for this month now. Also feel the same that I'm like just a bit like blah whatever but we shall see

MaryHua · 12/11/2023 15:56

@rosecbrm yes baby number 1 for us! Got my implant out mid-August so not many cycles so far, but I'm the sort of person who overthinks, panics and assumes the worst when it comes to fertility so for me to be calmer this month is bizarre.

@Biscuitsarelife1 best of luck now for your 2WW!
Hope your relaxed attitude towards it sees you through the wait 😊 as for cramping not being so bad, I find the same every second month. A bad month then an easier month with ovulation cramping. So I'm wondering if one of my ovaries finds it harder to release an egg? Just a musing, I actually have no real clue on the biology of it.

For once I have a busy couple of weeks coming up so hoping that'll keep my mind off googling every little symptom I get - lol IYKYK.

Maybe a good point about the ovulation pain! I don't tend to alternate ovaries each month (from what I can feel anyway) but definitely could be why.

MaryHua · 12/11/2023 16:42

@Biscuitsarelife1
Well here's hoping for a nice calm month with a good sprinkling of baby dust for all of us! ✨

Keeping busy is the key. I'm a chronic googler to the point where I sometimes have to limit my phone time in the 2WW. It's so very hard to do though.

@MaryHua absolutely same here! I came off the pill nearly 2 years ago now, but we weren't ready to start trying until this summer. This will be the 3rd cycle TTC for us, I got pregnant the first cycle but ended in an early MC. I am the same with over thinking, I drive myself crazy!
I haven't even bought any pregnancy tests this month, I have 2 easy @ homes left from my previous cycle. I'm hoping by not buying them it will stop the temptation to test early as I feel more chilled this month.

@Biscuitsarelife1 ahh exciting times heading into the TWW, good that you feel more relaxed!

Glad we all have eachother to speak to, not sure about you guys b it DH doesnt understand really, he just says 'surely the more sex the better' or 'why are you testing before you've missed your period' 😂 both very valid statements though! X

MaryHua · 12/11/2023 17:06

@rosecbrm
Oh absolutely! This is my first month on a forum, speaking to others going through the same thing, as I found having no one to talk to about it very challenging. Anyone I do speak to already have children which can be very helpful, but it isn't the same.

I'm so very sorry to hear about your early MC. Hope you're doing ok. And it must make you guard your heart even more closely.

Regarding the pregnancy tests, I'm exactly the same now. I'd rather wait to see if a period comes than test and squint at the window and try and come up with reasons in my head to explain how I am pregnant really but the test isn't sensitive enough yet... it's brutal.

emmatcc1 · 13/11/2023 15:42

I’m pretty sure I ovulated today just have to confirm with bbt tomorrow. We dtd yesterday but not the day before as we were too tired.

rosecbrm · 13/11/2023 18:18

@MaryHua I feel completely the same!

Ahh thank you, I'm honestly fine! Unfortunately for us women it's all too common.

I feel you, that's exactly how I was last month. Defo don't want to be doing that again! X
