Sending a big hug @H0pefull xx

FigandHoney · 26/10/2023 10:27

@H0pefull I am so sorry. That is so cruel. How long would it take on the NHS waitlist?
I think @CurlyWurly1991 made some good points. You could also get married in a townhall for now and have a bigger grandee wedding at a later point. I hope it doesn't come to you having to choose though and that you will fall naturally really soon.

Managed to get DTD in last evening. Eventhough our son kept waking up and my husband was shattered. He is always more in the mood in the morning. But I am always in a rush in the morning and just not enough of a morning person to get up earlier.
Also managed to go to the gym yesterday so pretty pleased with myself.
OPK got a little darker today. So think I am starting my LH surge. Last cycle it took 4 days. So might ovulated CD14 after all.
I am wondering if the maca I am taking is increasing my EWCM. Or maybe tge additional B6 and B12 I have been trying to take.

Angelsrose · 26/10/2023 12:07

I'm so sorry @H0pefull . Have you had all the bloods via your GP yet? Wishing you all the best this cycle.

H0pefull · 26/10/2023 13:25

@CurlyWurly1991 we have been on the NHS wait list just since the start of August, upon chasing they told me it is an indefinite wait list, they can't tell me how long the wait list will be. Understandably, I know they are incredibly stretched and it just can't be helped. This is what has sparked the conversation about changing our wedding, when it comes down to it the "big" day comes second for us, in comparison to having children. Much to think about, but that's where we are at right now.

Hope you are doing ok today xx

H0pefull · 26/10/2023 13:26

Just on a sperate note, can anybody recommend any TTC books that are good to read? I'm big on research lol so happy to give anything a try. I do remember a book being mentioned a few threads ago, but I can't remember what it was called :)

Angelsrose · 26/10/2023 13:37

@H0pefull The Impatient Woman's Guide to getting pregnant by Jean M Twenge is a good read.

Sp2025 · 26/10/2023 13:47

Hi can I join! I'm 36 and been TTC for about 3 yrs. I've got multiple fibroids and am due to have surgery to remove them next week Thursday (fingers crossed!) I'm just hoping it's the fibroids that are causing the issue!

MixedCouple · 26/10/2023 14:02

@H0peful it starts with an Egg is apparently and amazing book. I just watched reviews on it and picked up things from it that way.

FigandHoney · 26/10/2023 14:18

@H0pefull In addition to the ones already recommend, I found these helpful:

  • Taking Charge of your Fertility
  • The Period Repair Manual
  • The art of baby making
And these books are from the perspective of people who have struggled and I liked reading them as they made me feel validated and less alone. But you need yo judge if they are helpful or not to your mental health
  • The underachieving ovary
  • the pursuit of motherhood
  • The mother I could have been
  • The brink of being
  • Ripping up tge script
  • Dead babies and seaside tours
SnookyPook · 26/10/2023 14:18

@H0pefull yes, It Starts With the Egg was good.

@Sp2025 welcome! Hope your surgery goes well and fingers crossed you will then have more luck with TTC!! Exciting times ahead! 😊

SnookyPook · 26/10/2023 14:20

@FigandHoney ah yes, I read 'Taking charge of your fertility' too. Another good one. 👍🏻

H0pefull · 26/10/2023 14:22

Thanks everyone for your recommendations! A few ordered off Amazon for arrival tomorrow 😊x

FigandHoney · 26/10/2023 14:31

@worldwidetravel2017 Can you remind me which B vitamins are important again for Fertility according to your research? Sorry I know you mentioned them a few times

B12..

Also taking some b6 can minimise miscarriage risk by 50 percent

Folic acid / folate is a B vitamin

Basically eggs - potato - peanuts etc all help towards B vits ..

B vits Also important in life - pregnancy aside

Taking b6 and zinc can play a role in all the cycle timing/ ovulation timings
Ive found tommys ovulation calculation acurate this cycle

Full force AF arrived this morning, onto cycle 16💔
Have emailed Amazon to complain about the Wondfo tests so will see if I get I reply.
We are due to get married in 2025, but have begun to talk about cancelling & using the money to go private due to NHS wait lists as we can’t fund both at the same time. it can always be worse and it’s not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, just feeling defeated this morning x

Sorry to hear

Have you had hormone and fertility testing?

I highly recommend hertility health

Very well spent 150 gbp..

Have you had your feretin - b12 & vit d checked?

worldwidetravel2017 · 26/10/2023 17:18

@SnookyPook hows things?

Sp2025 · 26/10/2023 17:53

@worldwidetravel2017 Yeah, I've had my bloods done, and the consultant said my progesterone is borderline so after the surgery and recovery period he'll put me on letrezole. Sometimes I feel that everything is just against me. Luckily SA was all fine! Im glad I've come across this forum, this whole TTC journey can feel a bit isolating sometimes!

CurlyWurly1991 · 26/10/2023 18:01

@worldwidetravel2017 really sorry to hear about your delayed reaction to the dye. Are you feeling better now? I hope the scan results are what you are hoping for.

Looks like I did ovulate after the OPK so that’s a relief and puts me at 2dpo. Saw the herbalist today and she basically said my irregular ovulation is probably normal for me, and I might be better off switching to acupuncture if no joy with the new herbs by Christmas. Felt a bit deflated by that, I guess we put our hope and expectations into certain supplements/approaches/therapies etc and invest energy, time (and often money). I‘m not ready to give up… she was also implying that 4 cycles of TTC is quite a long time and I should have conceived by now. Made me think - should I be worried? GP and people on here lead me to believe it’s quite common to be trying for a while in your late 30s… anyhoo…

Def can be isolating at times

One day / one cycle at a time - keep your chin up

@ 36 - you have time
