@Bumblebee413 it is very strange, our bodies are certainly very confusing at times. Fingers crossed you were right though and you get a bfp soon.

@Lalaland13 with my son we only dtd once! I only remember because it was the weekend after my hen do and the weekend before his stag do and we thankfully hit a peak while we were both here. It was our 3rd month of trying but the first with OPKs. It's madness looking back how we had worked out the earliest we could start trying to ensure I'd still fit in my wedding dress and it happened for us. Yet now with no specific deadlines like that and nothing is happening. Was a good idea to warn your friend, if our experiences are teaching us anything it's that you just can't predict if it will be easy or not second time round.

I'll be 38 in August, was so sure I'd have had a baby by 37. DH is almost 10 years older though so time really isn't on our side. I've emailed a fertility clinic this morning to see if he can have a sperm analysis done.

The stupid thing is I've booked us a cruise for October 2025 as a family of 4. As I wouldn't breastfeed a second then I would want them weaned before going. So realistically we've got just 2 months of trying left before I'll have to look at moving the cruise to a different date. I really thought I'd be safe to book it that far in advance as it was months ago when I did.

@worldwidetravel2017 Happy Birthday. Hope you have a great day x

Why do 1 when you can do 3? 🙈😂
I think I'll believe it now and just take each day as it comes 🤞🏼

Congrats :)

(Not sure of your history or if your on progesterone
But from a place of care and empathy - just highlighting that July 2023 pregnancy loss review - means anyone whos had w miscarriage b4 can get progesterone now easier, )

Congratulations @JC084 amazing news

Khanga27 · 30/12/2023 09:39

So I got a ‘dye stealer’ this morning… this has me really really anxious as I read a little while ago that this can be a sign of a molar pregnancy, and I would only be 5 weeks today. After my MMC in August I just feel like I am expecting the worst..

Many people have babies @ 37 and 38

Just so your aware - incase you need it - super drug offer sperm analysis - just incase clinic arent fast or helpful

worldwidetravel2017 · 30/12/2023 10:26

Also - just incase this helps anyone

I had a transvaginal july 2023

( just showed fred the fibroid)

However mri in dec of abdomen - showed slightly bulky right ovary.
And .multiple cysts

( this was not seen on jul transvaginal)
.
Awaiting to be seen by gynae

I had a private mri scan 4 a dif area in nov - cost me 500 gbp

MRI is gold Standard

Obv these cysts could be new
( since jul )

But - equally - as my gp said -
Transvaginal doesn't show everything

As mri more detail

An abdomen mri could be of interest to anyone having any issues - if just for confirming cysts stuff and / or ovary stuff

I highly recommend vista health

( just incase this helps anyone in future)

RoseH36 · 30/12/2023 13:12

@worldwidetravel2017 thank you, that can be Plan B ☺️

@Khanga27 I wouldn't read too much into that, although I know how hard it is, I always thought dye stealers were a good thing as shows you have high levels of hcg.

JC084 · 30/12/2023 13:54

@worldwidetravel2017 thank you. Definitely worth looking into. I had an early miscarriage in the summer and a chemical last month, so maybe that means I could get it.

Thanks everyone x

Def try and test progesterone 3 /4 days after ovulation
2 / 3 months in a row

Have u had a transvaginal scan in last 3 - 4 months ?

And yes - you should ask 4 / be offered progesterone if you bleed at all after v early pos test in future

JC084 · 30/12/2023 14:16

@worldwidetravel2017 thank you. Will keep this all in mind for future if needed. I must admit I don't know a huge amount about it

Question for those of you who are trying to concieve or have recently

  • and arent doing ivf ..

. .. did you regularly get / ask for your progesterone tested ?

My progesterone was tested on nhs in summer and was meant to be retested but hasnt been

Additionally - i also bought some private super drug progesterone tests in summer

( theyve yet to find a spike )

Im guna ask them to test it again asap

RoseH36 · 30/12/2023 21:59

@worldwidetravel2017 you do need to take progesterone as instructed though, as I've found out. It delayed my period by 6 days just taking it 2 days before AF was due when I was convinced at that point in was pregnant.

I've been told to take it from a positive test but last month my CP happened so fast it didn't have time to work. I considered next time taking it from day 21 but with how much its delayed my period I don't know what to do for the best now.

Mrsspoon3 · 30/12/2023 22:10

@Khanga27 It’s hard not to worry after a loss, but I got a dye stealer at 5 weeks on a cheap not very sensitive test, and it definitely wasn’t a molar pregnancy as I had an early scan. I think these forums make it seem like things like molar pregnancies are super common, but it’s much much much more likely statistically to be a healthy pregnancy x

Lalaland13 · 30/12/2023 22:10

Not investigated progesterone as yet, still fairly early in the TTC process. Had my thyroid tested this week- no results yet.

Supertrooper101 · 31/12/2023 09:04

@worldwidetravel2017 hope easyer times are coming your way, think out of all of us you deserve a break x the progesterone from superdrug, is it the same theory as testing on day 21 to see if you ovulated? Its 9mths now ttc after the mmc. Had a couple of day 21s done and got another one to do in feb with an amh one. Had my shbt done a couple times too as thats been low. Testosterone normal androgen index normal. So that ones out of place. Oestradial was low on day 2 though too. Got a bunch done on hertility after seeing you mention it too. Really impressed with them.

Yes

Obviously i dont always do it on ' day 21 ' .as for example - mu jul and Aug cycle aug variation and ovulation tracking - meant one of those id ovulated by / around day 21 - one i hadnt

Day 21 = 4 ish days after ovulation.

My medical records state my hormone n fertility bloods were all good - as per summer ..
Im guna ask them next week - if - given its 5 months since ' summer - if theres any hormone ones NHS would / will test before we try again in march

I do want them to test progesterone on NHS - if it comes to me paying 40 gbp x2 to super drug to test it twice in jan n feb - i will

Having had the sept early miscarriage - im anxious // nervous re trying again
But - i remind myself we could of just beem unlucky - -
And one miscarriage doesnt necessarily mean lots more etc

Are you doing anything for nye tonight ?

We are guna go out 4 a couple of hrs from 10pm ish - a little social..
Im tired and have a very busy week next week..
Hosp bloods jan 3rd linked to b12 etc too.

What a year
But i had a nice birthday yesterday - my partner took me shopping - and 4 lunch and 4 a walk etc and we got cheesecake ( free!) And a ( free ) drink thanks to various marketing emails
& then watching the voice together
And we were ' naughty ' - having yummy chicken Kiev - i normally avoid meat in bread crumbs now due to my liver issues.

Eating low fat soup most days and iron rich cereal with iron rich fruit added ( for 2 of my 3 meals a day)

Loving my exercise bike
& whilst i haven't been on the scales in the last week - i had lost a few pounds the week before

Awaiting the date for my next ' near future colonoscopy ( jan or Feb hopefully) - they know we are guna try and concieve from march ish
And waiting a date 4 my ' smart ish ' liver fibro scan
And have to chase gynae again next week

Tricky tricky

I dont have access to it yet and earliest id be taking it would potentially be next spring

Its just when i or they havent yet found a progesterone spike , - i question if thats an issue

Particularly when for a few ' reasons ' - 'im currently overweight and i read online that progesterone is often an issue for those who are over weight and those who are under weight

Last time on scales i was 13 stone 10..

Bmi annoys me in that using just height and weight - they dont consider boob / chest size etc

I hope u have some easier , gentler times soon

worldwidetravel2017 · 31/12/2023 09:32

One of my partners - friends - wives - just had her first at 39..

Gives me hope - when i worry over now being 37

RoseH36 · 31/12/2023 13:00

@worldwidetravel2017 the bmi thing irritates me too, I always joke my boobs must account for at least half a stone 😂😂 I try not to weigh myself if I can but last time I did I was 11 stone 11 pounds. Which is still around a stone heavier than I was before having my son. My boobs and body shape have naturally changed loads though so don't know if I'd look right losing loads more.

Glad you had a good birthday, sounds like you had the relaxing day you deserved 😊
