@SouthwestSis sending you big hugs. I'm sorry 😞 I hope you're getting support during this time.

@jellyfish2210 I have never heard that being a reason but I'm learning all the time that just about anything can be a reason. I'm sorry, you must be feeling all sorts of emotions. I guess the good is that you know the reason. And sucks that there isn't much that can be done. I'm sending you all the baby dust and that you can naturally get pregnant and get your sticky bean soon. Would method like IUI or IVF be an option?

@Mrsspoon3 I'm sorry to hear about your worries. I think we would all feel the same. I hope there is a good explanation and everything good. Afterall the heartbeat is strong which is such a positive. So when you have a scan, do you have a doctor who then calls you to discuss the results? I know in Canada the scan technician really shouldn't tell any kind of results, other than maybe that there is a heartbeat because that's left to the doctor or your obgyn. Sorry if you already explained this...

@VixFromThe6ix how long have you got to wait for your results? That's the thing I find hard to get my head around, how I could have had a fairly straightforward pregnancy last time yet now it's been 15 months of trying and only 3 losses to show for it. I don't get how it can change so much yet there are many of us on here in the same position.

jellyfish2210 · 13/12/2023 19:54

Maybe I misunderstood what she was telling me but I'm pretty sure that's what she said and when she showed me the ultrasound there was occlusion of the neck of my womb.

We aren't eligible for any ivf or iui on the nhs as we already have a child. The criteria here is that if either of you have a living child you aren't eligible. We could go privately but that's a cost that we just can't afford. Will hopefully know more after further testing. Might even get pregnant naturally. At least the ultrasound showed that I am definitely ovulating and have the average egg count for my age. Have to hold on to the positives!

VixFromThe6ix · 13/12/2023 20:57

@RoseH36 doctor said it's a ten day wait. I don't know if she meant ten business days or just ten days in which case it's been ten days. I just wanna know... My mind keep spinning around this and it's going to dark places.
It's hilarious when everyone said, if you have a baby second time will be easier for both getting pregnant and having a baby. What a crock of crap, ain't it?
I guess being 40 rings all sorts of bells for the medical professionals and I'm going to be watched under a bigger magnifying glass.

@jellyfish2210 I think that you have to stay positive. It's so easy to get down on yourself. You're ovulating and they said to keep trying, which means they think you can get pregnant naturally. Which is wonderful news. Keep going, stay positive and it will happen !!

Those are good positives @jellyfish2210 x

I really hope you get your answers soon @VixFromThe6ix. At least if it is the business days you’re almost there x

I’m CD 38 with no symptoms to report other than obsessively staring at blank sticks, willing a second line to appear. It’s only been five BFNs though. Maybe if I give the next one a really good frown?

I do tend to have a longer cycle every few months. Just feels particularly irritating this particular month.

Mrsspoon3 · 14/12/2023 23:41

@VixFromThe6ix Thank you! The scan I had was with a private company so not linked to my NHS care or to any of the medical professionals involved in it, so the sonographer just goes through what they see with you on the day. It’s pretty similar though with the NHS scan. In the UK, unless there is anything they think might make your pregnancy more risky or anything they want to monitor more closely, you don’t see a doctor during your entire pregnancy. I didn’t see one at all when I was pregnant with my son. So again the sonographer doing the scan would go through the results with you while they’re doing it.
I’m trying to out for my NHS scan, which should only be a few weeks away, but I’m so anxious!
Hope you’re doing ok waiting for your results and not feeling too anxious x

Praying for test number 6 @Bumblebee413! I have longer cycles in general but get the odd even longer one too, and it’s so frustrating! Weirdly though, both times I have conceived and it hasn’t been a chemical pregnancy it was when I was having a very long cycle! With my son I ovulated around day 24 of my cycle, and this time around day 57! Anyway, hope you get an answer soon (and hope it’s a BFP) x

RoseH36 · 15/12/2023 18:29

@VixFromThe6ix really hope you're not waiting much longer then. Haha definitely a load of crap! I'd heard people say things like that too. Just keep telling myself there are plenty of women older than us that have successful pregnancies.

@Bumblebee413 a cycle that length would drive me insane when TTC. Mine is usually 27 days. I've had a couple be 24 days and then 29 has been the longest.

Bumblebee413 · 16/12/2023 11:12

Yeah, definitely getting frustrated now. Day 40, negative test number six yesterday. But at least my boobs are now starting to get sore, so hopefully AF will be here within a few days. I’ve had two 44 day cycles before so I assume this is just one of them.

How is everyone else doing?

VixFromThe6ix · 16/12/2023 18:15

@Bumblebee413 that's one long cycle! I'd be so thrown off by it too. I'm sorry about all the negative tests. At this point I'd just want my period to come already so I can stop stressing.

OP posts:
CurlyWurly1991 · 16/12/2023 18:23

@Bumblebee413 sounds very frustrating. I’ve had 60+ day cycles - do you temp? This helped me spot that on those longer cycles I actually was ovulating, but sometimes on day 45, 52 etc.

Im coming up to 6 weeks now. I’ve just found out I’ve got covid! Early pregnancy fatigue and nausea plus covid symptoms is not a fun combo.

VixFromThe6ix · 16/12/2023 18:23

@Mrsspoon3 thank you for the explanation. This is definitely different than what I've experienced. We see obgyn once a month first and second trimester then switch to every two weeks and then every week when you're over 35 weeks. I get in my head so I need the frequent reassurance that everything is ok.
Is NHS scan the 4d scan?

I heard back finally and my results were good from the NIPT test. I honestly felt like I took off a very heave backpack after that call. I can start getting excited about this pregnancy (cautiously still) and tell more family and friends. And great thing about this test is knowing the gender early as well. And my son is getting a brother!

VixFromThe6ix · 16/12/2023 18:26

@CurlyWurly1991 oh no!! Hope you feel better soon!!! First trimester paired with anything is tough 😣 week 6 is when I started all the symptoms and it was horrible till just now at 14 weeks and I'm still getting the bloating... Can't imagine being sick on top. Big hugs!

OP posts:
SnookyPook · 16/12/2023 22:38

@VixFromThe6ix ah congratulations on another boy 🥰 And that's great that the nipt has been reassuring too ❤️

@CurlyWurly1991 sorry to hear about the Rona!! 😩 Hope you're not feeling too rotten x

SouthwestSis · 17/12/2023 10:11

Huge congratulations on your NIPT news @VixFromThe6ix that's amazing!!
You poor thing @CurlyWurly1991 I hope you're getting some proper rest and are being well looked after

I've been completely floored by whatever virus I've had, still just about keeping down fluids but I haven't really eaten in several days, husband has had to basically solo parent our toddler all weekend which I feel awful about as he is knackered from work and in need of a break too.
And yesterday was the start of my fertile window but there is absolutely no BD happening here today!

VixFromThe6ix · 17/12/2023 13:10

@SouthwestSis oh no :( sounds terrible! Hope you feel better soon, mama. I'm glad you had help from your hubby. So will you attempt to try this cycle or concentrate on getting better and give it a go next cycle? I stressed about missing cycles but when I missed a cycle it was actually nice not to have the pressure

OP posts:
SouthwestSis · 17/12/2023 13:43

Honestly I don't know if my body is capable of conceiving in the state its in right now!
I don't normally ovulate until CD15 and I'm CD12 today so hopefully I'll feel well enough tomorrow or Tuesday evening.

Bumblebee413 · 17/12/2023 14:49

This has not been a healthy thread! I’m sorry @CurlyWurly1991, you definitely don’t need that on top of pregnancy symptoms. Really hoping that you’re feeling much better soon xxx

I’m sorry you’re having such a rough time @SouthwestSis. Really pleased that your husband is stepping up to support you. Go easy on yourself if you can. There really is relief in a cycle off if you don’t feel up to it. The hope rollercoaster is exhausting.

That’s wonderful news @VixFromThe6ix! Both the positive NIPT results but also your second little boy! There’s something wonderful about being able to say that your son’s little brother is coming 🥰

I’m on CD 41 and almost ashamed to admit that a little hope is creeping in now. I’ve had two 44 day cycles before, so I feel like either way I’ll have an answer in 3 days. Assuming this isn’t a super super long cycle… 🤯

I’m going to do a test on the 20th if nothing happens before then, as we’re going away for a few days just us too while my daughter is at her Nana’s. So that would be a nice time to find out if positive. Really hoping it is, there will be crisp white sheets, so this romantic time away may be slightly less relaxing if we’re unlucky! 🙊

Bumblebee413 · 17/12/2023 15:11

Bumblebee413 · 17/12/2023 20:37

I give up. Day 41. Test 7. BFN.

RoseH36 · 18/12/2023 08:24

@CurlyWurly1991 hope you're feeling ok. So hard being ill and not being able to take much to help.

@SouthwestSis hope you're feeling a little better? I've still got the cough I can't fully shift that keeps coming and going. My nose has been blocked up again too the last couple of days. Into week 5 of it now.

@VixFromThe6ix congratulations on having another boy 🥰

@Bumblebee413 sorry to hear it's another negative 😪

AF is due Christmas Eve (surely it should only be Santa due on Christmas Eve? 😅) so will start testing from Wednesday.

Fullofconfusion · 18/12/2023 12:11

Hope everyone is doing well.

I’m CD52….yep you read that right. Not taken another test yet but I’m fairly sure I’m not pregnant. Had horrendous cramps about a week ago and then dull cramps and sore boobs all week but no AF, hope she either turns up now or at least waits until after Christmas!!

Bumblebee413 · 18/12/2023 17:46

Oh @Fullofconfusion I’m so sorry to be bitching and moaning about my 42 days. Sending you a lot of love- what are our bodies doing??! Xxx

Lalaland13 · 18/12/2023 21:11

Oh so sorry 😔 it’s such rollercoaster of emotions, hope AF arrives asap and out of the way for Xmas xx

Lalaland13 · 18/12/2023 21:20

Eugh yeah my cycles have become a lot longer but not that long, sounds like such a palava with when to DTD! No one wants to keep at it all that time! I am still very much confused by these ovulation tests… they make no sense… the strongest line I have had was 2 days after my period ended and not even sure if it realky counts but then the rest have all been really faint?!
