Mrsspoon3 · 02/12/2023 22:16

Congratulations @SnookyPook and @SouthwestSis!! 😊

It’s so hard isn’t it @SnookyPook when you can’t feel excited? I told my husband about my pregnancy by saying “So I’ve tested positive again but it’s really faint so it probably won’t stick”! I did plan a more fun and exciting way to tell him, but I couldn’t believe it would last, and also I knew he wouldn’t really be excited anyway. Hope you’re doing ok and not feeling too anxious x

CurlyWurly1991 · 03/12/2023 10:38

Hi just checking in , I see there have been some developments!
@SouthwestSis congratulations !!
@SnookyPook
@Mrsspoon3
i understand the nerves when things haven’t worked out before. I remember someone posting that whatever happens, this day you are pregnant and allow yourself to enjoy it even if it’s just that one day.

joining you as I got my bfp this morning at 14dpo! Last time with my daughter 10 yrs ago I got bfns until at least 18dpo so this was a shock. But I’ve been feeling very different over the past week , managed to hide it from DH though so he went white as a sheet when I showed him the test this morning.!! 😂

@CurlyWurly1991 oh wonderful news! Congratulations! That's a great looking test! Yes, the 'this day you are pregnant' is my current mantra!! X

Angelsrose · 03/12/2023 11:05

@CurlyWurly1991 what a fantastic line! So pleased for you! Congratulations ❤️

Mrsspoon3 · 03/12/2023 11:23

Ah congratulations @CurlyWurly1991, that’s a great line!!

I’ve got a 7 week scan on Thursday so hope I’ll be able to relax a bit then. Finding it hard though as my husband won’t even let me talk about it. Not because he’s worried but because he doesn’t want the baby, and I think he thinks if we don’t talk about it it’s not real. So I can’t even talk about how worried I am as he won’t engage at all with any conversation related to the baby or pregnancy.

Lalaland13 · 03/12/2023 11:59

Only recently started TTC baby 2, am 38 - since stopped BFing my periods have been all over the place. Twice in one month, the the last 2 have been really long cycles .., waiting for AF 100% sure not preg but annoying period not here and 6 days late now! Used ovulation test this month and last and only had one day each cycle with darkish line the rest of the tests were only one line and not even a faint line? Is that normal? Tested twice a day and only one time had a line! Wondering if am just not ovulating now - could it be peri or recovering from baby? But he is nearly 2 - got preg first cycle with my first baby so expected the same. Had no idea how easy I had it before so prob shouldn’t be complaining but it’s so confusing !!

Bumblebee413 · 03/12/2023 13:36

Congratulations @CurlyWurly1991 !! Such a lovely strong line too! So happy for you 🥰

@Mrsspoon3 I’m sorry, that must be really tricky balancing all your different emotions whilst you’re around him. I’m glad that you’ve got the scan soon to hopefully ease your nerves a little. Sending a lot of love.

Welcome @Lalaland13. I find it all quite confusing too. I’m going to use the PreMom app next time to let something else tell me what’s happening which day, as I don’t know what my lines are doing. If it helps, and sorry if this is tmi, but the podcast ‘Don’t tell me to relax’ places a lot of value in checking cervical mucous rather than using OPK tests as apparently couples are likely to have less sex using the OPKs and that cm can be a more reliable predictor of ovulation. Having said that, I think it’s helpful having an extra bit of information and just try to make sure we’re DTD every two days or so just in case. It’s more ‘or so’ with a toddler though 😂

It could be peri or recovery post baby as you said though- are you breastfeeding? I’d see how it goes for a few cycles, recording what the OPKs say and then go see your GP for tests if there’s no baby at that point x

Lalaland13 · 03/12/2023 14:07

Oh bless you - this sounds so tricky. Men can be so difficult, he should be supporting you but they do have their odd ways of behaving.

Lalaland13 · 03/12/2023 14:12

Ohh will have a listen - haha does sound a bit gross and I guess could be tricky to interpret! I like yes or no haha ! I had some discharge the week following the week after I thought I ovulated but now wondering if that aas when was ovulating?! Who knows! Will check out the app - thank you! Yeah with a toddler and working - I am just so tired! I don’t really want to DTD all the time 😂😂 it’s very much needs must at the mo. I am just confused why no period - it’s all so confusing 🤯🤯🤯! I gave up Bfing in June, periods returned in jan this year and were regular and normal heavy until I gave up BFing and been all over place and super heavy! Not sure if hormonal or what the hell going on but I have never been this late before !!

My little man is just so so sweet at the mo and really keen on babies - I am prob worrying far too early but I am a worrier! X

MrsBP15 · 03/12/2023 18:43

Congratulations @SnookyPook and @SouthwestSis sorry if there’s anyone else I’ve missed, I’m finding it hard to keep track of all the BFPs! Fingers crossed all goes well for you.

i went to a private appointment with a fertility specialist this week. It was a really good appointment and I’ve got a blood test next week to check AMH levels and she has also suggested a HyCoSy.

i’m currently 7dpo and, as usual, won’t be testing unless period is late. I’m due next Saturday and I’m sure it will arrive and fuck up my weekend which I’m really looking forward to….NAT! At least I’ll be able to drink wine.

I’m going to ask a seriously stupid question but what do you guys do about heated seats in cars during tww? It’s pissing cold in uk atm and of course it’s only on my bum/back but I wondered if it should be avoided? I know I sound totally neurotic but all I do is think about ttc so some bag shit stuff is bound to find its way into my brain!!

jellyfish2210 · 03/12/2023 21:49

Hello all!
DH and I have been trying for number 2 for almost a year. I just turned 35 in October and GP has done some tests which showed hyperthyroidism. Hoping with treatment we will be able to get pregnant. I've had two 21 day progesterone treats that were both <1.4 and should've been >10 if I had ovulated. DH has also had a sperm analysis and it shows 2% morphology but the rest of the results were all ok.
Feeling very disheartened every month when AF comes. It's exhausting.
Lovely to see some BFPs!

RoseH36 · 04/12/2023 09:42

@Catson thank you. They weren't in stock last time I checked so will get some in.

@CurlyWurly1991 oh I'm so pleased for you. Keeping everything crossed this is your time.

@Mrsspoon3 that must be so hard on you if he doesn't want it 😪 you know you can always chat to us about your worries, we all know exactly what it's like. Perhaps he'll feel differently once he knows things are going well.

@Lalaland13 oh it's so hard when you've had an easy conception first time round, I'm in the same position. Took only 3 cycles of trying, and first one with OPKs as I didn't really know about them before then. Assumed the next time round would be the same but here I am 14 months since trying and have had a mmc and two CP. Really didn't think it would be so hard. Not sure about the lines on your tests. I've always used Clearblue digital ovulation tests. I did try some premom ones but couldn't get on with them as I found them confusing.

@jellyfish2210 welcome! It's certainly a very exhausting journey with so many emotions all the time. Just feels like it will never happen at times. Did you GP do the sperm test? I've had tests by a consultant following 3 losses and all were fine but they said they don't check sperm so haven't really been sure what to do when I see plenty of others on here who have had tests.

Yes our GP organised for DH to have his sperm checked and then with my low progesterone they have referred us to the fertility clinic. But GP said they only accept referrals when the female has a bmi <30. So trying to lose weight.
Have 15kg total to lose before I'm under that, so far have lost 6kg in 6 weeks.

Lalaland13 · 04/12/2023 11:06

Amazing! Such good going on the weight loss - can’t be easy with xmas coming. It is a point actually - when I had my son we had just got married and I was prob 10kg lighter than now and had been very healthy ! Now I live off digestives - and left over beige. Maybe a diet refresh will help me too. Good luck to you xxx

MrsBP15 · 04/12/2023 12:04

Bump?

SnookyPook · 04/12/2023 12:43

@MrsBP15 I've never contemplated this as not lucky enough to have a car with heated seats! I wouldn't have thought it should be too problematic - how hot do they get? Can you have them at a lower temp? X

Lalaland13 · 04/12/2023 12:50

I literally got pregnant the first cycle with my little man, had two friends at the time who had Mc and all sorts so I felt very lucky. But this time its not so easy. My mum got pregnant at 36 taking the pill - it’s just so unpredictable and hard to know what is going on inside! I am still waiting for period - never thought be saying when TTC! It’s so late and I’ve no idea why but definitely not pregnant! How old is your LO? I wanted a 2year 3 month age gap … why on earth we didn’t start trying before! I assumed would be super quick and wanted ti enjoy drinking and sleep for a tad longer! Xxx

Lalaland13 · 04/12/2023 12:51

I have been loving heated seats the last week or so - I doubt it would do any harm. I haven’t even thought about it xx

RoseH36 · 04/12/2023 15:41

@worldwidetravel2017 thank you, will give them a call.

@jellyfish2210 well done on the weight loss. I could do with losing some too, I'm still around a stone heavier than when I got pregnant. Not sure if it has any bearing on things but who knows.

@Lalaland13 the age gap did bother me but I try not to dwell on it now. I always wanted 2 years tops but because we had our son just before the first lockdown we wanted some normality first. Of course we had no idea how long all of that would last! Our son will be 4 in Feb so there will be over 4 and a half years and counting between him and any sibling.

jellyfish2210 · 04/12/2023 16:01

Thanks for the encouragement, if I lose another 7 kg I will be the same weight I was when I fell pregnant with DD who will be 5 in January. I had hoped to start trying sooner but we wanted to wait till we had a bigger house. I really want another child and my heart breaks every month with the arrival of AF.

Cressie2 · 04/12/2023 20:18

Hello, just catching up on here and so happy to read all the positive news as of late!

@SnookyPook @SouthwestSis @CurlyWurly1991 huge congratulations to you both! 💥So happy for you. We can go on the 12WW together until the 3 month scan! Are any of you having early scans? I’ve booked a private one for 7 weeks (in 3 weeks time) so hoping it all goes ok. Quite nervous about it all but trying to stay positive. I’m also nervous about telling work as have so many Christmas parties and can’t hide not drinking so will have to tell them at 6 weeks pregnant which seems too early. Anyone else in the same boat?

@Mrsspoon3 I’m sorry to hear that though. That’s really hard. 9 months of pregnancy will give him time to come round. Maybe he’ll change when he sees the scans. Thinking of you.

Welcome @Lalaland13 @jellyfish2210

Hope the rest of you are doing ok x

CurlyWurly1991 · 04/12/2023 21:01

@Cressie2 I hear you on the not drinking around Xmas dilemma. I kind of stopped drinking during TTC anyway so hopefully it wont raise any eyebrows. You could always accept a drink then just carry it around and pour a little away every so often?!
Not sure about whether I will book an early scan but totally understand wanting to do it. It would need to be first week or two of Jan for me, all being well. I would kind of prefer to be in an nhs hospital if the worst happened. I don’t know if that is just misjudged or what, it’s just the private scan places I’ve looked up near me are quite geared towards the 4d scans and I don’t know if I would feel ‘in good hands’ if it wasn’t good news. Perhaps I’m overthinking it though.

SnookyPook · 04/12/2023 21:23

@Cressie2 thanks! So, because of my previous losses this year, hospital have booked me in for a scan just after 7wks... 21st Dec... The Scanxiety is going to be real.... And right before Christmas 😬 but trying to keep calm and remind myself that this is a brand new pregnancy and every chance of going better 🙏🏼

I've already survived my work Christmas do. I think a couple of people were a bit surprised I wasn't drinking much (they did think I had a cocktail though when I actually ordered a mocktail!) However, they all know that I just had another loss at Halloween so none of them would have been tactless enough to ask anything pointed!! Family know I may be TTC again (they knew I was planning a break for a month or two 😂😬😂) so I don't think I'll get much grief from them. I might get some zero alcohol mulled wine or fizz etc and secretly pour that in a glass! Haha.

@CurlyWurly1991 I know what you mean about those places. I've never had a scan at one though so my thoughts might be very much misconceptions! I do feel NHS would probably handle bad news better but that could be wrong too!
