Boots 5 days early tests.. evaps/indents?

Has any one had evaps or indents on boots 5 days early tests? Or does anyone have any line progression pics starting from a faint line?

I used them last month and had about 5 tests with faint lines on, I also had faint lines on easy@home along side them. They never got darker and AF arrived on time. I wasn’t sure if it was a chemical or just bad batches of two different brands.

im now 10dpo on my next cycle and I’ve had a couple of faint lines today on boots tests. The pic attached is one of the latest.

I’ve used boots many times and never had even a hint of a line if the test is negative, not even hours after it’s dried. I’ve always found them the most reliable early detection tests. Now I just don’t know what brand to turn to, FRER are no longer available. I know easy@home are awful
for false positives, I’ve had a couple false positives on them myself.

I am just going to have to wait it out this month and hope the line progresses. I have a CB digital early but don’t want to waste it because the line on boots is so faint.

what’s other people’s experiences with these tests? I’ve found a couple of posts about them but there’s not many.

I had one like this about a week ago, I think they are evaps. I miss frer as those were the best although I’ve heard good things about boots early detection too

Decaffe · 10/12/2023 23:31

What has happened to FRERs? Have they been withdrawn?!

M41144 · 10/12/2023 23:58

Apparently they were dodgy and giving women a LOT of false positives so aren’t being sold in the uk anymore

Hey ladies, I've just sat here and read the whole thread 😂 @Dan521 Can I join the WhatsApp group too please?? :D xx

@StillJustWaiting and you commenting made me realise I never updated this.. I actually started bleeding like the day after I posted these pics then after a very long 7 week journey of going to the EPU every other day, turns out I had a super rare ectopic pregnant on my c section scar!! I was given methotrexate and I’m not allowed to TTC until next month (technically March because I’m supposed to take a full month of folic acid before TTC again)

StillJustWaiting · 23/01/2024 02:27

@Jess1997 Oh gosh I'm sorry you went through all that ! :( did your tests ever get darker or stay the same the whole time? Sorry to ask! Sending you baby dust for your first cycle back trying!!
I miscarried in March 2021, I didn't pass it naturally so had to go in for a D&C. I was on the pill when I fell pregnant and stopped taking it as soon as I found out. I got so excited though, we were talking about what she/he would look like, imagining our future etc. Unfortunately I was soo broken when i lost the pregnancy (and it was all very traumatic, i was very poorly!) that i thought i couldn't cope with it happening again and we wasn't trying in the first place that i got the sayana press contraceptive injection, literally within days of getting that injection i regretted it! It was supposed to last 3 months... i thought okay, 3 months is not so bad. We can plan a little more in that time ... fast forward nearly 3 years and still no luck!
I've been in for an MOT and apparently I passed 🤷‍♀️😅
I took a test today, definitely waaay to early to test, I'm only 4DPO 😂 I absolutely do not think I'm going to get lucky this month and only did the test because i found it when sorting the bathroom cupboard this evening. But i come here also to say that i have read (elsewhere) that the boots 5 days early tests are really good and have read many people say the have never had an indent or evap line, the test that I done this evening had a very obvious white line after about 30 seconds (I'm assuming indentation line?) that after the timeframe had a vvvfl (I believe to be evaporation line - it is 100% too early for a faint positive).
I took a photo of the indentation line then maybe 20 mins after the line had gone a teeny weeny bit pink (forgot to take a pic at that stage), I took it apart to investigate a little more (I know that invalidates them but i get carried away sometimes 😅) I highly doubt anyone else can even see the lines through these pictures- very difficult! But the first time i have tried the boots test and it's definitely not given a good first impression! X

@StillJustWaiting my tests got progressively darker after I had already started bleeding so I ended up calling the early pregnant unit to get checked out and I’m glad I did!
i had a happy healthy baby in 2020 without even trying, we weren’t trying but also weren’t taking any precautions but we’ve now been TTC for 2 years in 2 months and I had a MMC at 12 weeks in December 2022.. got a d&c for that, then I’ve had 2 chemical pregnancies and the ectopic since! I’m on a list to see a fertility specialist put it could be quite a while before that ever happens!

I can’t remember if I liked the boots ones or not.. I’m pretty sure they weren’t as accurate? Like not showing up as soon as others did. I had to take a pregnancy test everyday to see if my HCG was dropping and my levels were pretty low so I got used to what brands were good 😂😂 the wondfo ones on Amazon where my fav they picked up the most! Yeah I think it’s literally impossible to test positive at 4dpo.. however I normally start testing at 6dpo even tho I know it’s ridiculous 😂😂 I defo see the white line on the boots one! Very disappointing considering they’re not that cheap!

Following other posts about the boots tests. I took two tests this morning. One of tests gave me this result would you say the second line is an evaporation line ? Not the best photo. I have been suffering this week with a bad back and sensitive breasts which are so sore that I can't stand to wear a bra while at home. I'm on the pill which I get irregular periods. I'm expecting my period in 2 days and could only be three weeks pregnant if this line isn't an evaporation line. Reading posts I know these lines can be sensitive.

@K20243 im sorry I can’t see a line, but faint ones are hard to pick up on camera!

Hi all,

Just wanting a little advice please.. I took these tests yesterday morning, the line came after the timit window. Is this an evap/indent? Thanks x

I wouldn’t trust these tests as far as I can throw them. I’d get a clear blue digital but without weeks indicator to confirm. First Response don’t even seem reliable any more.

Any idea if this is positive

Hey, was this positive for you? I'm in the same boat at about 10dpo! xx
