Boots 5 days early tests.. evaps/indents?

Has any one had evaps or indents on boots 5 days early tests? Or does anyone have any line progression pics starting from a faint line?

I used them last month and had about 5 tests with faint lines on, I also had faint lines on easy@home along side them. They never got darker and AF arrived on time. I wasn’t sure if it was a chemical or just bad batches of two different brands.

im now 10dpo on my next cycle and I’ve had a couple of faint lines today on boots tests. The pic attached is one of the latest.

I’ve used boots many times and never had even a hint of a line if the test is negative, not even hours after it’s dried. I’ve always found them the most reliable early detection tests. Now I just don’t know what brand to turn to, FRER are no longer available. I know easy@home are awful
for false positives, I’ve had a couple false positives on them myself.

I am just going to have to wait it out this month and hope the line progresses. I have a CB digital early but don’t want to waste it because the line on boots is so faint.

what’s other people’s experiences with these tests? I’ve found a couple of posts about them but there’s not many.

@Dan521 I'm in a similar boat. Got a faint line this morn (approx 8dpo) but I'm pretty sure it's an indent. I've been stung with internet cheapies like one step before and heard good things about boots early detection so tried it today with fmu but I really don't think it's a proper line 🧐 AF due in 2 days for me so think like you I'm just going to wait it out and not drive myself crazy ....Or throw anymore money away on tests 🙈

I’ve done another one this morning (24 hours later) and there is a faint line but it appeared outside the time frame. It is probably lighter than yesterdays. If it was a bfp it would have gotten darker by now. It is difficult to see in a pic, it is more visible in real life.

yours looks like a decent line for 8dpo, there’s a chance it could be the start of a bfp. I would retest tomorrow and see if it’s any darker. 8dpo is still really early, I’ve lost hope at 11 dpo 😭

I’ve had 4 in the past 24 hours with faint lines on. They’re outside the time frame though and not got any darker. They must be evaps.

@Dan521 when is AF due for you? I definitely wouldn't count anything out of the timeframe as a positive (although I know it's easier said than done to just throw them away) but if AF still hasn't arrived you're still in with a chance 🤞

The only reason I'm testing so early is that my cycles are usually 23-27 days and I usually ovulate day 12-15. This cycle I didn't get a peak until day 21. So I'm cd30 now which has completely thrown me 🥴 My LP is also short at 9-10 days so that's why I tested today but I'm going to try wait 2 days now and not test again if I can help it 🙈

Girlfolk · 03/10/2023 10:49

Hiya, I can see very faint lines on those but agree they look like they could be evaps as they are so faint and not pink... however I use these tests and have never had the faintest sniff of a line at all, so idk maybe it is something?

Dan521 · 03/10/2023 10:57

@Girlfolk this is what’s got me curious, I’ve lost count how many of these tests I’ve used and there’s never been even a hint of a line no matter how long you leave them or what light you shine on them I’ve never even had a “is my brain playing tricks on me” line 🙈 it’s weird that this has only happened the past two cycles. I’m definitely not counting them as a bfp, I’m wondering if they’ve made a change to them or something and I’m creating this post for people to share their experiences for future people who use them. I’ve searched online pretty much every one says the same that they’ve never had even a hint of a line on them. Or someone has appeared to have had faint lines and then not updated the post with the outcome.

@Sez281 im holding out hope for you with that line at 8dpo, please keep us updated. You’ve got more will power than me I ended up doing 4 tests yesterday and another this morning 😂

Sez281 · 03/10/2023 11:20

@Girlfolk I agree there's no colour in mine so I really think it's an indent. Hopefully it's just too early @8dpo
@Dan521 well I say that now but my willpower isn't great either so I'll keep you updated. 😂Fingers crossed for you too. You're still not out 🤞

Letrozolehope · 03/10/2023 11:22

I had a few with a wonky indent line so assumed a bad batch, they are usually quite good so I’m hoping it won’t happen again . Really got my hopes up 😭

decafisnotthesame · 03/10/2023 11:28

Hi. Just wanted to share my experience of the Boots tests as I just came across your thread. I tested on Sunday and got the attached after 2 mins. Having posted it on another thread, everyone seemed to think I was right in thinking it was positive. Unfortunately another Boots test later on Sunday was far paler (I possibly imagined the line as my DH said he couldn't see it) and then the CB 6 days early test yesterday also negative.

I was 14dpo on Sunday so would have expected a darker line and believe it is (another) chemical.... waiting on AF now. I definitely wouldn't give up hope if you are fewer dpo.... keeping everything crossed for you.

Sez281 · 03/10/2023 12:32

@decafisnotthesame sorry to hear that. I would have 100% said your test was positive as it had colour. Are you sure you were 14dpo on Sunday? Is there any chance you could have ovulated later? I mean you're not out until AF shows so you never know 🤞🤞

Sez281 · 03/10/2023 12:34

@Letrozolehope it's looking like there might be a few dodgy batches out there. So annoying and upsetting to many 😕

nobleisle · 03/10/2023 12:35

I've not heard anything negative about these tests. I used them a few months ago and the line didn't really get that dark and I had a CP. I was pregnant tho it said on a CB and the line was clearly there, just not as clear as a first response. The next month it was a lot darker and I'm now 13 weeks. How many DPO are you? Id say you had a CP last month and this is a v v v early positive

nobleisle · 03/10/2023 12:36

Oh really sorry only the original post was there I didn't see anything else. At 11DPO i think it would be darker and on the second pic I can't really see anything. I'm sorry xx

buckingmad · 03/10/2023 12:40

I used these when TTC and only ever got lines when I was definitely pregnant.

This was 10dpo for me. Any chance you ovulated later than you thought?

decafisnotthesame · 03/10/2023 12:47

@Sez281 I appreciate the optimism but as well as the negative tests I also just feel different if that makes sense? Last week and up to Sunday I had sore boobs, an aversion to strong smells, elevated heart rate etc. All that has gone now plus I had horrendous cramping last night.

Definitely 14dpo when I did the test - its my first month on Letrozole so I was having ultrasounds every 2 days to check follicle size, doing OPKs, temping and my EWCM lines up with ovulation on 17/09. I had all bases covered 😆

Jess1997 · 03/10/2023 13:16

I’m in the same boat but with the Superdrug early ones! I did one and a boots one at the same time, the boots ones line is so faint that it might just be my line eyes but the Superdrug one defo has a line! I think it’s a false positive tho because the boots one isn’t as bright

Sez281 · 03/10/2023 13:24

@decafisnotthesame Oh apologies, you literally have everything covered so there's no doubting it. I Also I agree that when you know or feel different it speaks volumes. The only reason I'm testing today at 8dpo is that I'm having the most messed up cycle of my life. I'd usually be finished AF at this stage but for whatever reason I ovulated 8/9 days later than I usually do so it's driving me mad. I also have no AF symptoms which is strange for me as according to the app it should arrive in 2 days at 10dpo. I guess all I can do is wait now 🤷‍♀️

Sez281 · 03/10/2023 14:09

@Jess1997 how many dpo are you? The fact that you're getting "something" on 2 different tests sounds promising. Fingers crossed for you 🤞

Jess1997 · 03/10/2023 14:13

@Sez281 im 10DPO! I’ve got more tests coming later with Amazon! This is cycle 15th for us and I just don’t wanna get my hopes up!

Sez281 · 03/10/2023 14:21

@Jess1997 Aw I know hun I totally get it. I think in a day or 2 any lines should definitely be clearer. It also depends what type of tests they are, I think boots is 10ml hcg so should pick up something tomorrow if your Amazon ones haven't arrived. Fingers crossed for you 🤞💖

Jess1997 · 03/10/2023 14:28

@Sez281 all the ones I’ve ordered on Amazon are 10mlU! I was just looking on boots website to see if their early ones are 10mlU and they have so many negative reviews for false negatives!

Dan521 · 03/10/2023 14:43

@Jess1997 ow don’t get my hopes back up 😂 I’ve accepted I am out this month and then went and looked at the reviews now I am like hmm 🤔 I’ve had every pregnancy symptom this month but I have had them some other months too and not been pregnant.

Jess1997 · 03/10/2023 14:46

@Dan521 I’ve had so many symptoms this month too!! Driving myself crazy

Kayson · 03/10/2023 14:58

I've always found the boots ones to be accurate and really really sensitive!
