Boots 5 days early tests.. evaps/indents?

Dan521 · 03/10/2023 00:13

Has any one had evaps or indents on boots 5 days early tests? Or does anyone have any line progression pics starting from a faint line?

I used them last month and had about 5 tests with faint lines on, I also had faint lines on easy@home along side them. They never got darker and AF arrived on time. I wasn’t sure if it was a chemical or just bad batches of two different brands.

im now 10dpo on my next cycle and I’ve had a couple of faint lines today on boots tests. The pic attached is one of the latest.

I’ve used boots many times and never had even a hint of a line if the test is negative, not even hours after it’s dried. I’ve always found them the most reliable early detection tests. Now I just don’t know what brand to turn to, FRER are no longer available. I know easy@home are awful
for false positives, I’ve had a couple false positives on them myself.

I am just going to have to wait it out this month and hope the line progresses. I have a CB digital early but don’t want to waste it because the line on boots is so faint.

what’s other people’s experiences with these tests? I’ve found a couple of posts about them but there’s not many.

@Dan521 that's very frustrating seeing as you only want the one test done. Could his gp not arrange it like bloods? We haven't been down that road with my OH yet but I'm sure we will have to at some stage

@buckingmad that's really interesting. It's mad what vitamins can do! It's not really my ov day I need to extend it's just my luteal phase. My ovulation was a week late this cycle which I don't mind of it extends my LP, I'm 9DPO now so will wait and see 🤞

Cowlover89 · 04/10/2023 17:26

@Sez281 I'm currently pregnant with a 10 day luteal phase it can happen 😊

Sez281 · 04/10/2023 18:05

Aww Congratulations @Cowlover89 I love hearing stories like that ☺️

Dan521 · 04/10/2023 18:06

@Cowlover89 congratulations that’s great to hear!

13dpo today, done some orange Premom IC because I have loads of them and they’ve been bfn. At least they haven’t give false positives. Starting temping today also so I can get a base line to confirm my next O. I’ve tried temping in the past and kept forgetting to do it when I wake up.

after spending ages yesterday phoning around fertility clinics trying to find somewhere that will do a stand alone sperm analysis we’ve decided the only way to get one with out paying the best part of a grand for a package is to submit a sample to be a sperm doner they’ll soon tell you if the swimmers are up to scratch 🙈😂

Not sure if they're as reliable OP but Lloyds sell a sperm test.. never used them or have any idea on how good they are but thought it was worth mentioning 😄

Boymamaxx · 05/10/2023 08:39

Although can't see it on their website anymore but Superdrug comes up!

Dan521 · 05/10/2023 09:11

I read up on the ones you can buy in a shop, apparently they only look at the sperm count and are not very reliable. They can’t tell you if they’re swimming in circles or if the fluid is sufficient to get them to where they need to be.

@Dan521 Clever thinking with the donation idea 😂 Although it's ridiculous that you aren't able to just have that test done individually 🙄

Dan521 · 05/10/2023 22:12

I looked it up and they take the sample on the first appointment and pay you £35 per appointment. Then invite you to a second to either discuss the results if they’re not satisfactory or discuss the next step if they are. The first step takes 2-4 weeks. I think this is genius 😂 OH is saying no though.

im itching for him to go have it done, I don’t want to waste another year trying going through this cycle every month if there’s an issue and there’s no hope. If there’s no issues with him I’ll have testing which will take longer and be more expensive but at least male factors would be ruled out. I think he’s worried about the reality of negative results from it.

how are you getting on @Sez281 any sign of bfp or af yet? I’m due af Friday or Saturday. I’ve been exhausted again tonight and napped and had quite a bit of cramping: I feel like I’ve had every single symptom this month but still BFNs. I’ve started temping and it’s quite high at 37.3, usually drops before AF but I have no other full chart to compare it to because I’ve never been consistent previously.

@Dan521 hopefully you'll be able to talk him round to the idea. As you say it makes more sense checking him first before you need to go down a long and expensive road!

No sign of AF for me yet, 11DPO which I'm happy about as it might mean my LP has lengthened a bit🙏. Cramping and very sore boobs the last couple of days but still bfn on tests so I'd say it's just around the corner! I did think I saw a whisper of a line on test this morning but I probably manifested it 😂

Sez281 · 06/10/2023 13:34

@Dan521 I forgot to say I don't really get the temping thing as I've never done (I think it would just be another obsession for me lol) it but does sound like yours should have dropped by now? I know you're still getting bfn's but you do hear stories of people getting really late positives 🤷‍♀️🤞

Dan521 · 06/10/2023 14:31

@Sez281 no af for me either, I expect it will be tomorrow. I’ve had loads of watery cm again today, the same amount and consistency of af I thought it had started. It’s usually a lot dryer and more thick/creamy by this point. Still BFNs though. I also convince myself I can see a whisper on every test 🙈

My next months supply of opks arrived today, they come with easy at home hcg tests in the box. Decided to poas on one of them and of course another vvfl. They’re awful those tests.

OP posts:
Sez281 · 06/10/2023 18:34

@Dan521 I got a new box of easy@home opks including hcg last week but of course I used all the hcgs in the last few days. I'm glad though as I no longer trust them. I've just had a delivery of the orange Premom ones as I couldn't afford to keep getting boots & clearblues 😂 Did one just now and stark white. Better than an evap or indent though I guess 🤷‍♀️😕

Dan521 · 06/10/2023 18:47

Was you getting evaps on the east at home also? I’ve gone through quite a few Premom this month and not had even a hint of a line but I read reviews saying they were negative for ages after other brands were positive so I always think the opposite way with them and think what if I am not it’s just not showing 🙈 can’t win can we.

Jess1997 · 06/10/2023 18:52

I have defo found the premoms to be not as sensitive as the wondfo ones! These were mine this morning. I then got a positive digital too!

Dan521 · 06/10/2023 18:56

Aww @Jess1997 made up for you!! How many dpo are you now? I feel bad for how pessimistic I was when you had your first faint lines, I’ve just had bad experiences with evaps and didn’t want to get anyone’s hopes up. Congratulations though! I’m really made up for you xx

OP posts:
Jess1997 · 06/10/2023 18:58

@Dan521 don’t feel bad I honestly don’t think I’ll believe it until they’re super dark 🙃🙃 I just have a lot of trauma from MCs and CPs that I don’t wanna believe it yet! But I highly recommend the wondfo ones!

Jess1997 · 06/10/2023 19:00

I’m 13dpo today! Period was due yesterday!

Sez281 · 06/10/2023 19:01

Awww @Jess1997 Congratulations! ☺️🎉 It must have been amazing to see it written on the digital 🙌

Yeah @Dan521 the 2 I pics I posted on tues evening with faint lines at 8dpo were easy@homes. I've never seen a whiter test than the Premom one I just did 🥴 Hopefully those reviews about them not picking it up early were right. I have a clearblue left for tomorrow morning, I'd assume it would pick something up at 12dpo but I'm so crampy I'd say it'll be neg

Dan521 · 06/10/2023 19:09

I feel like the ultimate confirmation is a positive digital, there is no denying or squinting with one of them.

I might try wondfos next time then, I have been looking for cheap reliable tests.

I feel like I could see something on Premom today but I was deffo just making it up in my head. I have one digital that I refuse to use unless I have something significant on another brand, the only bit of will power I’ve had so far 😂.

does any one want to do a ttc whatsapp group?

Sez281 · 06/10/2023 19:27

@Dan521 yeah I'd be up for it! Sent you a pm there 👌

decafisnotthesame · 06/10/2023 19:52

I'd be up for it too. It can get quite lonely can't it so it would be lovely to have people to chat to

Dan521 · 06/10/2023 20:10
