Ladyinpink1 · 19/09/2023 07:57

Hi 🙋‍♀️, just as the title says, I am now on cd1 of my first cycle after a loss at 11+4 (stopped growing just after a scan showing strong heartbeat at 8 -9w)

Feeling nervous but positive about a new cycle ...but finding it hard to think of anything else other than ttc 🙂

Happy for some company to obsess with over these next weeks x

@Ladyinpink1 how’s your bbt looking today? X

Liz2681 · 13/10/2023 09:57

Congratulations @SnookyPook!! Fantastic news 🥳🥳

Hope everyone is doing ok - CD8 here and have started OPK and BBT testing again so feeling fairly optimistic to see how I get on this cycle!

Ladyinpink1 · 13/10/2023 11:42

That's brilliant @graceinc22 , does that mean you will ovulate in next few days?

My temperature shot back up this morning to 37. x

Hi @Liz2681 cd8 already, getting close 🙂. Hoping we still get more good news on the thread this month x

@Ladyinpink1 thanks I’m going to buy them and give them a go!

I’m cycle day 6 today, bought the wondfo ovulation tests to try this time 😊 going to start testing around cycle day 10!

That sounds like a good sign about your temperature jumping back up today 🤞

@graceinc22 ah that’s good news, hopefully you will ovulate in the next day or two!!

@Liz2681 I’m just two days behind you with my cycle, I’m feeling optimistic too! What day do you normally ovulate?

Liz2681 · 13/10/2023 14:11

@Haylsttc I tend to ovulate at around CD 16 -18. I usually use the Clearblue advanced digital OPKs and occasionally the strips. The good thing about Clearblue is they tell you to test with FMU whereas the strips say you're better off doing the test in the afternoons, which sometimes means I don't get accurate readings because I drink so much water during the day. I've been testing with the strips the last couple of days, but will start with Clearblue tomorrow 😊

graceinc22 · 13/10/2023 18:44

@Ladyinpink1 oh great that your temp is still high and you have more proof you did actually ovulate! Fingers crossed for implantation x

yes I have had ewcm the last couple of days so really hoping for ov, eventually. 6.5 weeks since my miscarriage!

Ladyinpink1 · 13/10/2023 22:12

That's great @Haylsttc hopefully they give you a nice clear indication when your LH peaks.
Yes will see how things go, I feel like this cycle has been a confusing one hoping the next one is a bit more textbook for me. x

That's so reasurring for you @graceinc22 hoping you get plenty of chances to dtd these next few days.
Well I think I must implant earlier rather than later because with each pregnancy I have had a bfp at 8 or 9 dpo (I'm an early tester lol) I'm 8dpo today and tested this morning, it was a negative, no matter which angle I looked at it or how hard I stared lol so if it's still negative in the morning again, then I'm pretty much out. Obviously I'm disappointed but it's only cycle 1 so I'm also ok with it not being "the cycle" x

Ladyinpink1 · 13/10/2023 22:20

@graceinc22 a minute after I wrote that reply to you I thought I would have one last obsess before bed and looked at the test again (does anyone else do this? Lol I have been known to remove them from the bin for another check on more than one occassion 😳) and I thought there could be the lightest lightest line if I really looked at a certain angle. I took it hours ago and checked it so many times earlier and there was nothing to see, so it most probably is nothing (cheap test) but now I'm thinking about it and probably going to feel even worse at tomorrow's test if it's a negative. x

Ladyinpink1 · 14/10/2023 06:46

Just to update, I tested again this morning and the line was an evap 😔 dont know why do I do this to myself lol. x Hope everyone else is getting on OK

Oh goodness @Ladyinpink1 it’s such a rollercoaster isn’t it. The temptation to test is high! But testing at this point doesn’t necessarily mean anything. Different egg, different sperm, different conditions… 🤷🏻‍♀️ Hope you can take care of yourself a bit during this strange in-between time. Go gently x

Ladyinpink1 · 14/10/2023 08:22

@Oxalis00 Thank you for your kind message 💜

I should not have early tested, this had just been such a strange cycle, but that must be because it's my first since the last loss. Hoping the next one is more predictable and I can be slightly less crazy 🙂. I have a busy weekend and plans with friends today and tomorrow so that's good keep me distracted.

How are you? What cd are you on now? x

RubyCat06 · 14/10/2023 10:50

@Haylsttc good luck with your ovulation tests! I always found them quite accurate, sometimes needed to test twice a day, they would be negative in the morning but be positive by evening 🤯
@Ladyinpink1 its still so very early! And every cycle is different so it could just be too early. A busy weekend sounds ideal at this time 🥰

Im having a weird month. Around day 15/16 I had all the usual symptoms of ovulation.
this morning I woke up with TMI symptoms usual to ovulation time. I ordered some ovulation strips for next month so I used one and it’s very positive 😕
Im on day 25 and I’ve never ovulated this late. Pregnancy test is negative. I hate my body since the miscarriage.

Haylsttc · 14/10/2023 10:57

@Liz2681 I’ve used the clearblue advanced digital opks in the past, I liked it but I think I just prefer to see the line transition 😂

@Ladyinpink1 awww I admit I’ve done what you did in the past, evaps are the worst ☹️ I completely get what you mean about getting an early positive in the past so feeling deflated when you test early and it’s negative! It’s good you’re busy over the next few days, the first cycle trying again after miscarriage is a whirlwind of emotions, try go easy on yourself whatever the outcome 💕

Liz2681 · 14/10/2023 11:39

@Haylsttc yes completely understand that. Although the Clearblue's are quite reliable, the black and white answer (smiley, no smiley etc) is jarring at times!

@Ladyinpink1 so sorry you've had a tough couple of days. I know what you mean about going back and checking and it's so tough having that tiny glimmer of hope, especially the first cycle after a loss. I'm early on in my second cycle after loss though and I feel in a much better headspace than last month, when I felt like I obsessed during the TWW to the point of exhaustion. A busy weekend though to take your mind off things will help and as @RubyCat06 says, it's still so early, so fingers crossed it's positive news soon! x

Oxalis00 · 14/10/2023 13:56

Yeah 8DPO here too @Ladyinpink1 - according to PreMom app at least. Don’t think I’ll test unless period is late, I can’t handle the ambiguity! Would rather remain in ignorance. This way I can at least believe I’m pregnant… 🤞🏼🤦🏻‍♀️

Ladyinpink1 · 14/10/2023 22:11

That is so frustrating and confusing for you @RubyCat06 Is this your first cycle since? I'm sorry you aren't having an easy time xx

You are right, it's a real whirlwind, for all of us, thank you @Haylsttc x

You are very sensible @Oxalis00 I wish I had of been as sensible... maybe next cycle I will be 🙂 x

wyto · 15/10/2023 08:04

Well I think I may have had a very faint positive today, cheapy test and only 11dpo so going to wait a few more days and do a clear blue

Vic231 · 15/10/2023 17:00

@wyto that's exciting! I have my fingers crossed for you 🤞🏼

@Ladyinpink1 sorry you've had an evap 😔 there's still time though 🤞🏼

For me, I'm waiting on cycle day 3 tests. Does anyone know what this does or doesn't show? I've been told not to be pregnant when you have them done to show a baseline, DH and I were refraining from DTD for this reason, until earlier this week 🤦🏻‍♀️ then when I opened my flo app (which I'd been having a few cycles off of whilst we wait so as not to obsess) we only DTD right on ovulation day! So im back in the TWW again.

Just a bit worried that if I am pregnant this cycle (which feels a bit slim, but I guess it only takes once!) then I might miss finding out something that allows me to support the pregnancy to finally bring a baby home - if that's makes sense? So if anyone knows anything about the cycle day 3 tests I would be appreciative.

What will be will be, is what I've been telling myself and either outcome will be good, I'll either be pregnant or having blood tests to move forward on my journey x

Liz2681 · 15/10/2023 20:51

@wyto congratulations! Keeping fingers crossed for good news 🥳

@Vic231 I did Hertility which is a type of Day 3 hormone test. They tested for:

  • Ovarian Reserve and Fertility (AMH)
  • Hormones affecting ovulation and period (FSH, LH, OEST, and Prolactin)
  • Androgen hormones (DHEA, SHBG, Testosterone)
  • Thyroid function

What results you get though will depend on what test you're using so you may get results for different hormones etc.

Overall, I got the sense the test was there more to give me insight into anything that may be making it difficult for me to get pregnant as opposed to giving insight into how to support a healthy pregnancy once I do get pregnant, but again this may just depend on the test 🙂 x

Vic231 · 15/10/2023 21:31

Hi @Liz2681 thank you for replying! I've just checked and my letter looks to be for the hormone test. It's highlighted for testing the following; MENO OEST, LH & FSH, Oestradiol I'm having the test as part of investigations into recurrent miscarriage. My tests for thyroid, clotting and others have come back normal. After consulting Dr Google it says that a hormone imbalance can cause miscarriage due to womb lining etc. I'm not entirely sure what to think of it as my periods are like clockwork and quite heavy but there probably more to it than that! Argh it's so tough to try and understand! X

graceinc22 · 16/10/2023 07:02

My body continues to be weird! After a few days of flashing smileys and ewcm, yesterday the ewcm seemed to almost dry up and I had a bit of spotting in the evening, I thought, maybe my body has given up on ovulating and decided to have a period instead. I was actually fine with that because then I can start my next cycle of letrozole. But now, this morning, my period hasn’t started and my bbt has gone up noticeably…. Is ovulation spotting a thing? Google seems to say yes, but never had it before! I usually never get any kind of mid cycle bleed.

Ladyinpink1 · 16/10/2023 07:46

Congratulations! 🎉🎊 @wyto that's very exciting and great that you didn't have to wait long x

@Vic231 hi, i'm sorry you are feeling worried, it's such a difficult position to be in because you want acbaby so much but also feel the need to wait. I am waiting for tests also, I don't know anything about what they are exactly but I see @Liz2681 knows alot (saving your message for future reference Liz 🙂) but as to you dtd and being worried... I just wanted to say I also had my basic tests from GP (thyroid, iron etc) and they have came back all fine so I have increased as many different types of vitamins as I can and we are actively trying while waiting for the tests. Have you been given a script for progesterone if you do fall pregnant? If not, if it did happen for you this cycle, you could ask about that? x

OP posts:
Liz2681 · 16/10/2023 08:11

@Vic231 yes I know what you mean 😩 there's so much information out there, some of it contradictory which is so hard to keep track of when you're just trying to do what's best to have a healthy pregnancy.

@Ladyinpink1 glad it's useful 🙂 agree with you a progesterone prescription may also be helpful, and I understand the NICE guidelines changed in 2021 that for anyone who previously had a MC and is experiencing bleeding in early pregnancy should be prescribed it, as it's been shown it can help lead to a healthy pregnancy, so if this isn't something that your GP prescribes at that stage it's certainly worth asking.

Know what you mean about the vitamins as well, have also started taking CoQ10 (which I think you'd mentioned before?) because at this point, might as well give anything a go 😅

@graceinc22 sorry it's all been a bit weird. I had what (I think) was ovulation spotting last month (as it coincided with the flashing smileys on the CB tests), which I'd never had before, but I think it was just down to it being my first ovulation after the MC so chalked it up to that. Are you still getting flashing smileys? If so, I'd keep testing just in case? x

Ladyinpink1 · 16/10/2023 08:15

@graceinc22 I have heard of ovulation spotting maybe from the egg bursting out... could that be right?

Could the medication you are on maybe cause the ovulation to be more pronounced. I'm sorry you are having a confusing cycle and I hope that it is ovulation and your temps stay high for the next few days 🙂 x

My temp dipped today so AF will be here tomorrow, I will be glad to get a new fresh, hopefully textbook cycle 🙂 x

OP posts:
Ladyinpink1 · 16/10/2023 08:25

@graceinc22 Yes coq10 is one of my many 🤣 it is a readily used one and I think as you said anything is worth a try, I have been giving it to dh also as it helps the sperm too, if your oh is on board? I also read that men should take Folic acid too to give healthy sperm and reduce defects in sperm.

I was given an undated scrip for progesterone pessaries from the epu after my last miscarriage and they said if we fell preg before our test appointment then to give it to Gp to get the script and start it straight away until 16 weeks, as you said apparently it's very good if you have had a previous loss or other issues. So if you did fall pregnant then I'm sure you could get that @Vic231 x

It all just seems for be waiting when ttc doesn't it, waiting for tests, waiting for ovulation, two week wait, waiting for period, waiting for temp changes, I have decided I really don't like waiting lol x
