Hi 🙋‍♀️, just as the title says, I am now on cd1 of my first cycle after a loss at 11+4 (stopped growing just after a scan showing strong heartbeat at 8 -9w)

Feeling nervous but positive about a new cycle ...but finding it hard to think of anything else other than ttc 🙂

Happy for some company to obsess with over these next weeks x

Pleased ovulation finally appeared for you @ThelastRolo20 - and so begins the TWW! Fingers crossed for you, and everyone here. Surely odds are we’ll have another BFP soon?!

@GeorgeR28 I’m so sorry you’ve had such an ordeal. The emotional pain of MC is bad enough without the physical trauma. I had similar earlier this year (two surgeries for RPOC, after initial medical management, bleeding for 2.5 months in total including 2 trips to A&E, ending in a blood transfusion!) It is scary, and it does affect how you see and feel in your body. I’m still processing it 3 months on, though the thoughts of it are a bit more distant now. Look after yourself and take things as slow as you can. I completely get the urge to TTC again though.

No progress for me with ovulation, onto CD18 tomorrow and DH is away now. I’ve never done OPKs for this long before so not sure what my baseline LH reading would be apart from around ovulation. BBT is still low so it’s not like I’ve missed the peak. And I have tested 4 times today…! 🤪

GeorgeR28 · 29/11/2023 22:19

@Oxalis00 I’m so sorry you had to go through that 😞 my heart goes out to you honestly. Mine was the exact same I had medical management too, which also is absolutely horrendous isn’t it.
i think that’s what gets me sometimes the flash backs of it all, even the sight of blood makes me panic and get upset. Good luck with regards to ovulation! Your tests will go positive as soon as you’re thinking you’re over testing for the month! I’ve got my fingers crossed for you- keep me posted ❤️

ThelastRolo20 · 30/11/2023 06:30

@Oxalis00 ah so sorry your tests are inconclusive! So BBT definitely means you haven't ovulated? It's so frustrating when our bodies don't do what we want them to do xx

Bali200 · 30/11/2023 06:42

@Wise0wl so glad to hear things are looking good, and little bean has now caught up measurement wise. Must be such a relief after the last scan. So pleased that you now have the progesterone, albeit two weeks later! When are you next due back to EPU? X

@GeorgeR28 welcome to the thread, I’m so very sorry for your loss and to hear of the traumatic physical side of things that you went through. I personally found pg tests very triggering afterwards so I chose not to test and waited for AF instead as I felt this was the lesser of two evils! X

GeorgeR28 · 30/11/2023 10:17

@Bali200 thankyou so much I appreciate that ❤️ I’ve been telling myself not to test as I definitely agree I find the negatives so triggering, I caved last night 9dpo and it was of course negative, when will I learn!

CluelessInLondon · 30/11/2023 10:30

@Wise0wl @graceinc22 Thanks for the lovely words and reassurance - I honestly can't tell you how comforting it is to have this thread where everyone 'gets it'. My husband is amazing and supportive but I can tell that he doesn't quite understand why my period coming this week hit me so hard (and he's the one who wants a baby most out of the two of us!).

@Wise0wl Glad you've had your scan and got the progesterone - hope that helps and things continue to go okay. Will you be going back in for another scan?

@graceinc22 Great news about ovulation, fingers crossed for you when you test!

@GeorgeR28 Welcome and sorry to hear about your experience, that must have been really horrible and distressing. I'm glad you are feeling recovered and back to TTC. As you'll see if you read any of the messages on the thread from earlier this week, I am probably not the person to advise on what happens if you don't get a quick positive after MC! I've just finished my first cycle trying again and was really hopeful and felt devastated when my period came a couple of days ago - I'm just hoping that the emotion of it will lesson over time, if it doesn't happen for me for the first few cycles. I'm trying to focus on knowing what I can about what my body is doing so that I can control the stuff that I can influence and worry less about the things that I can't. I am a total control freak though, so find it very hard to accept and let go of stuff that I can't do anything about!

SnookyPook · 30/11/2023 13:30

Hi all... So a shocked update from me. Some of you might remember I had a MC at Halloween. Was my third loss this year (a query ectopic due to low hcg but never confirmed and eventually righted itself without any intervention). Anyway, after that, I decided I just needed a month or two off thinking about it all. So... This month... No ovulation tracking, had a couple of very hot baths, wine, rough-housing with my toddler... (You can guess where this is going..) 😬

Last night I was ravenous, and suddenly thought to check my dates. I wasn't overly bothered because I know a loss can send your cycle a bit erratic, however I was pretty sure I'd ovulated around CD14 as usual because I had a mega spot appear. We dtd CD17 and 19... I'm CD32 - AF normally at CD28/29. It's my work Christmas party this eve so I thought I'd better check just in case... And... !!!

Don't need to tell anyone on this thread that I am feeling extremely cautious about this - but part of me can't help thinking this egg has really done it's best to get here with me doing F all to help!! So.... 😬 Early scan booked for a few days before Christmas... So that could be tough if it's bad news, but, maybe the festive season will be a nice distraction in the run-up etc. I will deal with whatever comes. Really hoping this is a sticky one though 🤞🏻

Hope everyone else is doing ok. @Wise0wl lovely to hear your update. Glad things are looking ok!

Sorry to those who are struggling. I had an appointment with a MH midwife a couple of weeks ago and spent an hour sobbing about everything I've been through! Just hoping I'm strong enough to face whatever comes... Blso hoping that this one is my 🌈💕

@SnookyPook Oh my, what a lovely surprise - and isn't it inevitable when you decide to stop thinking and worrying about it?! Keeping everything crossed for you that this is the one. ❤

Anotheranxiousone · 30/11/2023 13:49

Oh @SnookyPook really got my fingers crossed for you!! xx

Bali200 · 30/11/2023 14:13

Wonderful news @SnookyPook, I was wondering how you were getting on. Sending lots of positive sticky bean vibes in your direction, you really do deserve this after the awful year you’ve had 💗 x

Bugdem123 · 30/11/2023 14:51

@SnookyPook how amazing!! I'll keep everything crossed that this is your rainbow at the end of such a difficult year. Maybe there is some truth in the "just forget it and have fun" method my older relatives keep telling me about 😅

ThelastRolo20 · 30/11/2023 15:34

@SnookyPook ah wonderful news 💕 really hoping it all works out and all looks good at the scan🤞🏻🤞🏻

Haha wouldn't that just be infuriating!

Thanks everyone 🤞🏻🌈💕🙏🏼

Haylsttc · 30/11/2023 18:39

@SnookyPook aw that’s amazing news, congratulations I’m so happy for you ❤️

@Oxalis00 that’s frustrating but keep going with the testing, this was literally me last cycle and I did finally peak! Keep us updated 😊

I’m 4dpo and undecided whether to add extra b6 to my vitamins in hopes to keep my progesterone up! Normally I would take 100mg throughout my whole cycle but this cycle I’ve been taking pregnacare instead which I know has a lot of B vitamins in already. However I am tempted to add 50mg of b6 just in case 👀 @Wise0wl am I correct in thinking you took pregnacare the month you got your bfp? I’m sure someone did and I can’t remember who!

Oxalis00 · 30/11/2023 21:55

So, OPKs have finally gone up! Today is CD18, which is weirdly late for me. I guess BBT over the next couple of days will show whether I actually ovulate. (To whoever asked, temp is lower in the first half of the cycle and goes up after ovulation, usually the threshold is about 36.4 degrees. It then comes down again before your period. Or stays up…! 🤞🏼)

I’m not sure now what to do about day 21 progesterone test, which is supposed to be 7 days before you expect your period and 7 days after ovulation. Mine is booked for Monday, which is CD 22. Should I move it based on ovulation, to get an accurate picture of progesterone at 7 days post-ovulation? Or keep it, levels will probably show low, and then discuss weird cycles with GP…?

graceinc22 · 30/11/2023 22:36

@Oxalis00 i would definitely move it - at the (nhs) fertility clinic I’m under, they always do it 7 days after your positive opk. No point doing it too early and then it not being in a position to confirm ovulation! X

Bugdem123 · 01/12/2023 06:39

@Oxalis00 that's good on finally getting a positive! I would probably move it, or maybe even phone and check what they'd like you to do?

How are you all doing?

graceinc22 · 01/12/2023 06:54

@SnookyPook wow, absolutely lovely news. Especially after everything you’ve been through this year, really really hoping this is a completely straightforward pregnancy. Because of your losses this year, are they going to offer you any support in the pregnancy? I remember you were waiting for a fertility clinic referral x

Ladyinpink1 · 01/12/2023 07:10

@SnookyPook aw what a lovely surprise for you 🎊, you really deserve it after this past year 💜 Hope you are keeping well so far and your work night out goes OK mahbe you could become designated driver to throw everyone off as to no drinking 😄x

Yay for the positive opk @Oxalis00 I don't know much about the tests but i think rescheduling fir a little later might be better x

Wise0wl · 01/12/2023 07:58

Congratulations @SnookyPook - what a lovely line! ♥️

@Bali200 @CluelessInLondon @Gem0302 thank you. I like knowing the reasons for things so knowing I have a haematoma stops me second guessing why I’ve got spotting, and the progesterone makes me feel like I’m doing something about it. Next scan at EPU is on the 18th, so I’ll keep you posted.

@GeorgeR28 welcome and I’m so sorry about your terrible experience. DH had wise words which were that you have to TTC in hope, not fear - easier said than done, I know. Wishing you lots of luck.

@Oxalis00 my inclination would be to go to the GP anyway and ask them? Worse case you get two sets of bloods and a convo about what’s going on? Good luck xx

Bugdem123 · 01/12/2023 08:48

@Wise0wl I also like to know the reasons for things so totally get that. Hopefully time flies and your scan is here before you know it.

I've woke up this morning with lots of EWCM, but a low on the digital OPK. Haven't taken a strip one yet. This of course happens when my mother in law is arriving at lunchtime 😅. Can hopefully squeeze in a try before she gets here just in case the digital OPK is lying to me.

GeorgeR28 · 01/12/2023 09:23

@Wise0wl thankyou so much. I love that, really needed to hear that today. I hope you’re okay ❤️

ThelastRolo20 · 01/12/2023 09:54

@Oxalis00 so happy you got your peak! Definitely speak to GP, I reckon they'll push it back or maybe test twice? Hope your temp does what it's meant to x

SnookyPook · 01/12/2023 11:26

@graceinc22 thank you 🙏🏼 I've got an early scan booked on 21st December.... At least if it's bad news I will get the distraction of Christmas I guess. I'm just trying to take it day by day and keep the hope going until there's a reason not to.

@Ladyinpink1 thank you! Haha work night was fun. My boss did look a bit put out when she offered to buy me a drink and I chose a ginger beer!! Haha! Before that I'd managed to order mocktails but we'd moved to a pub with very limited options. Think she was too tipsy to analyse it much anyway 😂

@Wise0wl love those words and that's how I'm trying to approach the pregnancy too - in hope not fear!

@Bugdem123 haha typical timing! Hope you manage a cheeky horizontal tango before the MiL gets there! 😂

@Oxalis00 I think I'd probs move it to 7 days past peak opk as others have said but always good to chat to GP anyway. Hopefully it will start a convo about your cycle at least.

Hope everyone else is ok. Xx

CluelessInLondon · 01/12/2023 11:29

@Oxalis00 Good news on the positive OPK! Hope you get yours soon as well @Bugdem123 - do you know if you normally have quite a sudden LH surge? That might be what's going on and why the digital one is still showing low.

CD4 for me and feeling a bit more positive than I was earlier in the week - think the hormones are now settling down after my period! Also agreed with my husband that we need to have some things to look forward to - we pretty much always have our next holiday booked and with the miscarriage we didn't do anything in the autumn, so we've agreed that if TTC doesn't work this cycle we're going to get away for a week in January. Already feeling like that gives me something else to focus on, I can do some holiday planning in the next couple of weeks to distract me from the constant waiting to ovulate, and if it's disappointment again I at least get to book a holiday and have something fun to look forward to. Wish I could afford to book a holiday every time TTC doesn't work... 😅
