Hi 🙋‍♀️, just as the title says, I am now on cd1 of my first cycle after a loss at 11+4 (stopped growing just after a scan showing strong heartbeat at 8 -9w)

Feeling nervous but positive about a new cycle ...but finding it hard to think of anything else other than ttc 🙂

Happy for some company to obsess with over these next weeks x

Hey everyone long time no speak, I hope you’re all keeping well 💕 so sorry to read about your loss @Liz2681 sending you love.

I had to take a break from thinking about ttc when my period arrived a couple of weeks ago as I felt really stressed about it.

I’m cycle day 11 today, we are still trying this month but I’m trying not to obsess too much as it’s been taking over my life the past four months 😔 So I’m doing the clear blue ovulation tests this cycle as I only need to use them once a day, rather than the strip tests which I was using a couple of times a day. They’re more expensive but Amazon has money off them at the moment for Black Friday so I’ve bought 20 tests for the price of 10! And to be honest I’m kind of enjoying the blunt answer it gives you each day 😂

SunSparkle · 20/11/2023 18:53

@Ladyinpink1 its cycle 5 for me. To be honest, my cycles have been short (23/24 days) since I got my period back while breastfeeding my daughter. But i didn’t pay it any attention as we weren’t trying to conceive. Before I had my daughter they were 28-30 days.

it’s only now I’ve been looking at ovulation that I’ve realised they are short cycles with a short luteal phase.

my GP has also offered to send me for hormone blood tests for day 2 of periods and day 7 days before my period which I will do this week and into next cycle if I’m not pregnant.

Ladyinpink1 · 20/11/2023 19:03

@Haylsttc Hi! I'm sorry you had a hard time with AF arriving, we know how it feels, hopefully this is the last time you will need to worry about af arriving.

I also started using a new type of opk... not as posh as yours though just easy at home for me lol but it's kind of nice to mix things up a but (oh dear, how sad is my life that it's a fun thing to swap opks 😂) They sound good, I will need to check them out.

Can I ask everyone, I know this is not a positive opk... but with the easy at home tests would the second line always be this colour ⬇️ with the negatives, never really faint? With the one step tests it was really really faint right up until ovulation day or day before but although this is a light line it's not faint. Just want to check this would be a normal negative anytime in cycle? x

Yep that’s what I get with easy@home ones @Ladyinpink1 - you’re looking for the strength of the line, it’s always a bit pink I think. Hadn’t really thought about it before tbh! Gonna start my opks today (CD8) and definitely not going to manage SMEP! DTD three times over the next week would be good…let’s see!

ThelastRolo20 · 20/11/2023 19:43

I think I'm coming down with an awful virus. Typical - hoping it comes and goes before ovulation but not sure it'll throw things off! COVID skewed my cycles in summer so knowing my luck it'll be COVID and will happen again 🙈

Ladyinpink1 · 21/11/2023 09:26

@Oxalis00 Thanks, will keep an eye on it for getting darker, I was worried it meant I was going to ovulate way too early but it's much lighter this morning.
Yes the smep once it gets to 3 days in a row is a bit tough I think. Will see how much we can manage. What day have you normally been ovulating? x

Oh no @ThelastRolo20 sorry you aren't feeling well, how are you feeling today? Hopefully it doesn't move ovulation by too much x

OP posts:
ThelastRolo20 · 21/11/2023 09:31

@Ladyinpink1 I think some colour is normal :) what day would you normally ovulate?

I'm actually feeling a bit better, I think it's just a 24/48 hour bug and I'm not due to ovulate for a week anyway so I'd be surprised if it affected it!

Gem0302 · 21/11/2023 10:46

@Ladyinpink1 i use the easy at home opks too along with clear blue just to be double sure 🤣. I find that i always a faint line and then as ovulation gets nearer it gets darker but I’ve never had what they show as a peak. The closest I get is the lines being equal. Clear blue has shown a peak though so who knows.

Im 1dpo today and I’ve got a uti 😭 currently waiting for a doctors appointment and I imagine a course of antibiotics. Anyone conceived before when taking antibiotics? Trying not to to google as it will only stress me out more.

CluelessInLondon · 21/11/2023 10:57

@ThelastRolo20 Hope you are on the mend soon!

@Ladyinpink1 I always have a line on my OPKs - sometimes very faint but sometimes a bit stronger. I used the Clear Blue digital test to triangulate with my cheapie OPKs this month which seemed to work quite well, got a nice dark line and a static smiley on the same day.

@Gem0302 Oh no, hope you get your doctors appointment soon and can get things sorted out. ❤

7 DPO here and still symptom spotting! Started feeling nauseous during my exercise class last night, but I think I'm being overly optimistic and I was just working a bit too hard. 😂

Ladyinpink1 · 21/11/2023 11:42

Positive opk is normally around about cd14, but it can vary slightly a day or two each side of that. That's good you are feeling better, you need all your energy for SMEP @ThelastRolo20 🙂 x

@Gem0302 yes I never got a dark line with 1 step either, only equal. Oh no sorry about the uti. I haven't had them at the stage you are at before but I think because at this stage it's all happening in the tubes on the way to womb and I can't imagine them effecting it there... but I'm no expert lol but i think you should still be good x

That's good you had a double confirming this month @CluelessInLondon and hoping it's not too much exercise that's caused symptoms last night x

OP posts:
ThelastRolo20 · 21/11/2023 12:57

@Ladyinpink1 not currently feeling that enthusiastic about SMEP 😂I'm going to go for Friday, Sunday, Tuesday. And maybe an extra day depending on OPK.

I must have had a really weird virus, felt rotten last night but today I'm okay.

Haylsttc · 22/11/2023 09:13

@ThelastRolo20 @Ladyinpink1 we’re also going to attempt the SMEP this cycle! Never tried it before and not sure we’ll manage all of the days either. I’m currently cycle day 13 and we’re on track so far. Just got a flashing smiley on my clear blue ovulation test this morning too so hopefully it should go to peak in the next couple of days which times nicely with the weekend for the three days in a row when neither of us have work 😂

ThelastRolo20 · 22/11/2023 09:25

@Haylsttc that's great timing! Fingers crossed this is the month for you. Still only cycle day 9 here - world's longest cycle. Will start OPKs Friday, but not expecting anything until Monday/ Tuesday

Ladyinpink1 · 22/11/2023 11:59

@ThelastRolo20 lol I know, it's tiring. Well cd10 today so we are due to dtd tonight, Fri and Sun and then will di more days depending on when opk is. Really hoping as @Haylsttc said that my peak falls around the weekend as through the week is harder with dh working quite late etc. Will be interesting to see how many of us are successful with using SMEP to see how well it really works. All of us would be lovely! 🙂 x

graceinc22 · 22/11/2023 12:02

Ooh! I might try SMEP next month, if I don’t get pregnant this month (fertility friend says I’m 4dpo). Fingers crossed for us all x

ThelastRolo20 · 22/11/2023 13:17

@Ladyinpink1 I'm definitely hoping for a load of BFPs this month! @graceinc22 already in the TWW! how exciting - how are you feeling/ do you have an idea of when you'll test? X

graceinc22 · 22/11/2023 13:30

@ThelastRolo20 yes i am excited to be in the TWW! being on letrozole is just game-changing, i think i ovulated on cd17, in normal range, when normally, my cycles can be up to 40-50+ days! i got a positive opk at the weekend but with my pcos i don't fully trust them, and my bbt didn't seem to rise as much as expected, so I was so relieved this morning when I had a proper rise and FF confirmed ovulation for last saturday.

will be testing at 14dpo if I don't get my period before then! might try to push it to 15dpo as we're hosting a big christmas dinner for my husband's side of the family on the 14dpo saturday!!

hope you're feeling better soon and the bug doesn't affect you the rest of the month! <3

Gem0302 · 22/11/2023 15:16

Loving the positivity today, lots of BFPs incoming this month 🤞🏼.

2dpo today, had a rise on bbt yesterday so confident ovulation was Monday. Currently on antibiotics and the gp tells me they shouldn’t affect ttc but I still worry there’s a lot of stress on my body at the moment.

Aaliyahrae · 22/11/2023 17:44

Good luck to you all trying new methods this month! I keep checking to see how you all are. Fingers crossed for you all. I’ll check back in in a couple of weeks to see how you’re all getting on.

I’m really poorly at the moment. The morning sickness is absolutely awful I can’t even drink water and all foods make the nausea worse. Been given some pills by the GP before I need to be sent to hospital. Taken two and they’re still not working but fingers crossed they start to work soon.

CluelessInLondon · 22/11/2023 18:24

@Aaliyahrae Oh no, sorry to hear you are feeling so rough - keeping fingers crossed for you that it improves with the medication.

Also thinking positive thoughts for lots of BFPs in the next few weeks!

graceinc22 · 22/11/2023 20:07

@Aaliyahrae so sorry to hear about how sick you are. Have you had this before? Sounds awful. Hopefully the meds will work x

Aaliyahrae · 22/11/2023 21:02

Thanks @CluelessInLondon and @graceinc22. Not with my DD or my miscarriage but with my DS I was so poorly but it was a different type of sick. Really trying hard to be grateful because this was so wanted after my miscarriage but I feel so unwell.

How are you both feeling? Where are you in your cycles?xx

Ladyinpink1 · 22/11/2023 21:21

@Aaliyahrae Sorry you have been feeling so rough. I hope the tablets have an effect soon! x

@Aaliyahrae as someone who’s had Hyperemesis with both my pregnancies, I’m here if you want to ask questions about medication.

so, I’m CD25, 9DPO. My cycles are anywhere between 23-25 days. Had a negative test yesterday and today and have been cramping so I do think my period might be coming just perhaps my cycle might be lengthening by a day. With short cycles, it took me being about a week late last time to get a positive result because I think it needs that many days past ovulation to turn positive

what pregnancy test strips does everyone use?

Yeah I know the feeling about cycle being everywhere. I finally got the negative PT so been trying to DTD and my OPK readings are a bit all over the place so a bit hard for me to pin point when ovulation will be.

i prefer to use Easy@home strips. I find the readings pretty on point for me. The Clear blue kits I found pretty unreliable. I purchased 2 boxes and didn’t get a signal positive, not sure if it was me or maybe I got a damaged kit.
