Wondering if anyone has experience with this?
DH and I are TTC our second but he has been struggling with work and family stress - high pressure role and family illness. We both want this badly but DH is feeling some performance pressure and not ejaculating / losing erection during sex. It’s frustrating for us both when I’m ovulating and really get us both down.
I just wondered if anyone had successfully tried home insemination? I think it’s a good idea so we can be a bit more spontaneous with sex and take any pressure off but reassured that we have more chance of conceiving by adding this into the routine.
I have bought some bits off amazon (flat head syringes, “specimen” cups 😂and a cheapy conception cup type thing)
any hand holding / reassurance / experiences greatly appreciated.
It feels strange and clinical to be considering it but I am a bit hormone baby crazy and willing to give anything a go, but feel a bit embarrassed talking to anyone IRL about it because of taboo around ED.

How’s everyone doing? I’m waiting patiently for ovulation but it isn’t happening yet (recent MMC). Wish I could take the ‘easy’ traditional route sometimes and forget about all this tracking and all these tools and tricks! It does work though. Hoping one of us gets a bfp soon!!

I often find myself thinking how on earth were women popping babies one after another decades ago.

I'm also waiting for ovulation. According to previous cycles, should be in the next day or two.

@CurlyWurly1991 back in fertile week, month 7 after my most recent miscarriage. Time is just dragging a bit now and honestly I'm fed up!

Sorry about your MMC @CurlyWurly1991 - I hope it’s ok and not too intrusive to ask (if so please ignore me) how did you know it was a MMC? I have wondered a couple of times myself but could never find the right info.
Currently waiting for AF to arrive. During my fertile window this month (which was weirdly so early) I only got to do AI once because I had a horrible cold and the one we did do felt like a really rubbish attempt. So holding out zero hope this month. But hopefully a November baby ❤️

i’m currently in my TWW and I only managed to do AI once and it was a total mess, it all just seemed to leak out but did the ‘traditional way’ twice so fingers crossed

@FSGirl I had a positive pregnancy test in early December (from self insemination). Got to nearly 8 weeks and had a private scan but baby had stopped developing. Had surgical management when I was 9 weeks in early jan 😔

@CurlyWurly1991 That sounds incredibly tough, I’m so sorry for your loss.

@Gkb90 sounds very similar to me this month (with the AI, lucky you’ve had two “regular” attempts too!). I was poorly and knackered so rushed it a bit because I was desperate to sleep. Then obviously kept myself awake Googling how far semen could travel 🙈 because I feel like it basically all leaked out.

@FSGirl omg snap! I was Googling the same! I found it all just came leaking out as soon as I took the syringe out 😩 I just can’t seem to get it to stay! How long till your predicted AF? Fingers crossed she doesn’t show x

I have found this month that lying on my side has reduced leakage!

I've been ttc #3 since January last year. Thought it'd be easier since the first two happened without a second thought so had a break for a bit to try not to have a Xmas baby and feel like a mug now!
Anyway! I've now started getting ads for every fertility stuff going including bea and two plus. Looked at them and thought "so....jizz in a syringe!? I've got them two things right here!" and after an unsuccessful go at the traditional way yesterday morning, having had a high lh test the night before, decided to give it a while. My husband was fairly horrified since I hadn't discussed it or anything with him in advance so although he agreed to it yesterday I think he felt a bit more comfortable about how normal it is after I showed him this. And so do I!!

I used a plakky kids juice cup (now segregated!) and the syringe that comes with preseed cos it's a bit longer than the calpol ones and figured it's designed to go up the chuff! It didn't really sook up the deposit too well though so I did a bit of a squirt with that then tipped the rest into my menstrual disc and popped it up in there to prevent any leakage.

Husband was slightly less perturbed when the cup appeared again this morning thanks to you all!

Now fingers crossed that something works! Although will consider switching to the lucky calpol syringe next month if not!

@Gkb90 AF is due any day. My only cause for a teeny bit of hope is pure exhaustion this week but I guess that can be down to PMS too!! I’m glad I wasn’t alone in my Googling 😂 clutching onto any hope at the moment!

@itsLKtoday really glad you found it and it was reassuring; all the replies, stories and tips been really reassuring for me. TTC can make you feel like you’re going mad at the best of times!! And my DH gave me exactly the same look at first, but a few months in and we have a bit of a laugh about it now and it has taken the pressure off for us both 😁

Feeling a little more patient and peaceful this month and currently 7dpo.

This month we used the new fertility syringes which are round head and only have a tiny hole, it leaked SO much less!! We also inseminated with my legs already in the air which felt easier to find the cervix and deeper.

Fingers crossed for an early test tomorrow 🤞 xxx

Funnily enough, I was going to try it that way next time with kegs up already, glad it seems a better way.

I did this method 3x this cycle, currently on 6dpo the wait is killing me. Previous cycles when I've had BFN I've said to myself I wont be this eager next cycle but here I am!

@JS5 totally feel you. I've tried so hard to be more chilled and not test. Although I feel less stressed, today's negative did touch a nerve. I'm 8dpo today.

BFN this month so onto the next round

I've been testing the last two days as noticed sensitive/stiff nipples but BFN , I know it's still abit early so will remain hopeful for the next few days

@JS5 Oooh sounds exciting! But deffo early as you said. Are you 8 today?
I'm 10dpo today and taken 3 tests because I keep seeing the faintest line. Obvs not getting any stronger today though so need to give in and be patient until tomorrow.
No sign of AF still for me and unusual yellow tinged CM.
Praying for us both x
