Hello! We’ve been trying for a while, no children previous. I have endo.. had one BFP chemical in November but looking forward to the next cycle as we have a fertility appointment on 21st sept and I’m not sure what the outcome of it will be but it feels a step in the right direction. I’ve decided that there’ll be no more ovulation tests or symptom spotting (after being pretty certain I’d get a BFP this month, and not) so here’s to a overly laid back October 😂🙏🤞👀 and hopefully a few BFPs on the thread xx

Ks2023 · 07/09/2023 18:48

Hi. TTC for 1.5 years with 1 chemical back in February
currently going through fertility testing hope to find out what’s wrong with me but my doctor think my follicles don’t mature properly 😢 first months trying soy isoflavones based on FF report 75% women got pregnant first months after soy. Will see end of September if it’s will make any difference

FigandHoney · 07/09/2023 19:57

Hello 👋 Was looking for a TC thread to join.
We just started trying for our second baby. DS is 3 years old.
Took us a year and a bit last time to conceive. It all got very stressful.
Do we told ourselves we aren't putting any pressure on it this time. But we Bded for the first time yesterday, and here I am joining a TTC thread and looking things up.
So we will see if I can try not to stress about it this time.

beaniesunrise · 07/09/2023 22:03

@Yolo23 perhaps not taking the ovulation tests and worrying too much will be in your favour & praying that the 21st goes okay. Sorry to hear about the pain, lots of baby dust and luck to you! Welcome to the thread 🤗
@Ks2023 ahhh patience is virtue, kudos for preserving and sorry for the hardships, hopefully the tests come back ok and everything works out for you this month and you also get the result you’ve been waiting for! Lots of baby dust to youu 🌸
@FigandHoney Hi hi 👋 it’s always on our minds even when try not to stress about it haha here’s to lots of BFPs this month or next month!

Me please 👋
Never ttc before so no idea how successful we will be. Have been stalking these threads for tips but think I should probably just see what happens for the first few months. Definitely keen for this thread though for a sounding board with others who are trying!

I've been tracking cycle for 3 months or through glow but haven't done any ovulation tests so not sure how accurate my ovulation prediction is!

Excited to hear from others!

Anotheranxiousone · 08/09/2023 08:58

Hi can I join! TTC #2. Just had a miscarriage at 6 weeks 3 days and bleeding almost stopped. Counting first day of bleeding (2nd September) S day 1 of this cycle. Usually have 28 day cycle but expecting things to be different at least for this one if not for a few. Will start temping and ovulation sticks next Friday/once I’ve got a completely negative pregnancy test and go from there!

FoodFann · 08/09/2023 09:02

@Ks2023 Best of luck to you this month. But, I don’t know how much to believe those reports of success. Soy did nothing for me the first time I used it TTC baby1. But this time, TTC baby2, Soy isoflavones pushed my cycle to 35 days with a very late ovulation, if at all (very small rise in LH levels on easy@home sticks).

FigandHoney · 08/09/2023 21:03

Thank you @beaniesunrise . Yes. Fingers crossed 🤞

@TTCnewbies My main advice as annoying / cliche as it is, is to try not to stress about it. We conceived the month we stopped trying and I drank a whole lot 🙈 Easier said then done. Also try to get to know your body off contraception. Average cycle length. How long are your periods/ how heavy. And watch out for signs of ovulation / fertility. Egg white mucus. I actually get ovulation pain.
@Anotheranxiousone I am so sorry about your miscarriage. Hope you conceive your rainbow baby quickly

TTCnewbies · 08/09/2023 21:26

@FigandHoney thank you 😊 so we actually only use condoms so I'm somewhat familiar with my cycle (I think!) I'm definitely still learning about all the mucus stuff and what it means though. I'm going to try not to go to crazy with obsessing but I know ehat I'm like. Glad to have you all to sound off!

FigandHoney · 08/09/2023 21:45

Possibly might have ovulatrd yesterday. I sometimes get ovulation cramping. And I was cramping yesterday. Baby danced the night before.
Decided to use the Ava bracelet I got previously out of desperation. This says I am currently in my period of high fertility.
Husband wanted to get it on last night but played on the PC until 11pm. And I was too tired at that point.
Ans today its bloody boiling I'm our house, so unlikely he will be into it.
Ah well. We are only at the start. And we said we wouldn't put pressure on it this time.
Ever since we had my son my libido has been much lower anyway. I don't know if it was all the stress of trying beforehand, the disastrous birth or smthg hormonal. Anyone else experience this?

Feelinghappy19 · 10/09/2023 12:08

hi :) just joining this thread in my first month of properly trying. I’m trying so hard not to put pressure on us but it’s so easy to get carried away! Wishing everyone luck!

daisybubble · 10/09/2023 12:38

Hey everyone, wishing you all good luck.
We’re TTC from October too. Can’t wait!

TTCnewbies · 10/09/2023 15:37

I wonder if any of our cycles will line up. AF is due any day (spotting atm) and we may try this month or maybe wait til next month.

Goodness! We are exactly the same! I’m waiting for AF.

Can’t work out whether to try this month or next. We get married in about 4 weeks and I want to be able to have a couple of drinks at the wedding. My period is due a couple days after we get married. I don’t know whether we try now, or wait. I suppose some people don’t know they’re pregnant until after that point anyway but want to make sure the baby can be as healthy as possible - though we might not be successful straightaway. X

TTCnewbies · 10/09/2023 16:56

Oh wow! That's great - it will be nice to have someone on similar days. Let me know what you decide to do. I completely understand your dilemma. You could always just see what happens?! Up to you. I guess a month longer won't matter. I'm not expecting us to be successful straight away anyway so I think we might just go for it.

beaniesunrise · 10/09/2023 20:52

Welcome to all joining the thread! Let’s hope this month/next month is ours with BFPs ☺️ going to be great going through the journey together
@TTCnewbies Hi 👋 I second the don’t stress yourself! It would be cool to see if our cycles line up - AF isn’t due until the 18th for me however.. so won’t start TTC until 1st Oct!
@Anotheranxiousone Welcome! Sorry to hear and best of luck for next Friday, keep us updated - hope this is your month. We have the same cycle lengths :)
@FigandHoney you're not alone, I’ve also experienced since having DC1, I don’t know if it’s the sleep deprivation or traumatic birth or daily stress of having a toddler to chase all day!
@Feelinghappy19 & @daisybubble Welcome!😁

Feelinghappy19 · 11/09/2023 07:30

@beaniesunrise thank you! Good luck to you! I think I’m out this month as my app changed my o day but it’s fine! We are both off work during my fertile week this month as it’s my birthday so keeping everything crossed for a bfp!

DoloresOnTheDottedLine · 11/09/2023 14:29

I’d love to join the thread if that’s okay. We are TTC number two. Conceived our first in 2017 with Clomid and have been prescribed it again. Hoping we are similarly lucky this time. For anyone interested but not familiar, Clomid is used to stimulate ovulation if you don’t ovulate or are irregular.

Last time we went via the NHS and they more or less bunged the pills at me and said to have fun. We’re private this time and there is so much more to it - three scans in every cycle, plus injections and other drugs. All a bit overwhelming and I’ve found myself checking out of work a bit and spending too much time googling stats….

Good luck to everyone and fingers crossed for some positive test results in the next few months!

TTCnewbies · 11/09/2023 17:28

Good luck everyone!

I have a question, this will be my first so I'm not overly sure. But I've been reading loads of threads and notice lots of people DTD the day before and day after peak ovulation but not the day of, anyone know why? Is it better to just DTD as much as possible through ovulation week? I'm not sure we will manage every day as we both work long hours but will try to as much as possible. My prediction is ovulation over a weekend in Sept so hopefully will be able to a bit more.

DoloresOnTheDottedLine · 11/09/2023 19:53

Interesting question @TTCnewbies - I think it’s a good idea to DTD the day before ovulation because then there can be sperm already hanging around in your uterus, ready to meet the egg. No idea why anyone would skip the actual day OF ovulation though - feels like that’s the best day to do it! There may be some kind of mad science to it that I don’t understand however 🤔.

FigandHoney · 11/09/2023 20:28

@TTCnewbies It has been a while since the last time we did this. But I think a lot of advice out there is two BD every second day during your fertile phase.
The egg last up to 24hours. And sperm can survive up to 5 days inside you. So with the day before and after you are kind of covered.
I don't think there is a huge reason not to do it every day. Just it can take some time. Us ut took 15 months. So that's a lot of doing it for a long period of time.
I think some people also say that there is less actually sperm if you do it every day. But I am not sure that's true

TTCnewbies · 11/09/2023 22:43

Thanks both. This is really helpful!
Initially, at least this month, we won't be using ovulation sticks or anything. I've been tracking very basic on glow for a few months which predicts when my ovulation is, so I think maybe we will try to cover every other day for that rough week, possibly more often if we can!
It's such a minefield. I did not think I'd become this obsessed researching.

The next thing I need to figure out is when to take the folic acid stuff and what ones. Asda had their own cheap brand for a couple of quid. Not sure whether I should get pregnacare ones. Will look it up.

Good luck all!

Feelinghappy19 · 12/09/2023 06:23

@TTCnewbies My friend recommended the ones just from Holland and barratt, I think you should take them about 12 weeks before you conceive and 12 weeks after, sure someone in here will correct me if that’s wrong!

beaniesunrise · 12/09/2023 06:48

I remember when TTC our first, we started DTD day after my AF finished every other day and then everyday around OV time (1D before, during and after).

Last time I didn’t start taking folic acid until after I found out since it was all new and we just started trying, however this time I started taking folic acid 2 months ago.

Both pregnacare vitamins from Holland and Barrett
