@Strawb28
@DmcinT
@HopeAndStrength
@xxcxdonxx
And @SnookyPook for if/when you feel like you might want to come back xx

Sorry if I've forgotten anybody, I realise most of you guys have had your BFPs and there's only a few off us left waiting, but at least you know the thread is here so come back and keep us updated with all your lovely pregnancy stories 😊 For those of us still here, hopefully it won't be too much longer 🙏💖 xx

@xxcxdonxx oh I'm so sorry to hear that. Really not the kind of update you would want. The being in limbo is just so agonising. I'm so sorry that you find yourself in this confusing situation. I'll send all my good vibes to your little bean and hope it pulls through but I don't think any of us on this thread could go down the cheery full of hope route. I really really do hope though on your behalf that it isn't what you are fearing. Come on little one 🤞🏻💕🤞🏻

Hankthehonk · 12/09/2023 11:13

@SnookyPook I spoke to my GP after my miscarriage, she was kind but not super helpful, but it's worth asking perhaps for blood tests to check for thyroid issues or other things that can affect egg health/fertility. They did this for me when I requested it, I was concerned about it because my mum and all her siblings have underactive thyroids so I'm at risk of developing it. There is some evidence of difficulty conceiving and/or miscarriage rates with thyroid issues, although like most things to do with women's health it is under researched.

I became curious about progesterone levels and bought Proov tests to check my progesterone, they're not cheap but it might be something else worth investigating (unlikely the GP will entertain progesterone tests but worth asking). I found Proov useful, and ultimately reassuring as it confirmed ovulation even more precisely and told me my progesterone levels were not a problem.

@xxcxdonxx So sorry to read this update, two weeks will feel so long being in that kind of limbo. Sending love x

SnookyPook · 12/09/2023 11:27

Thanks @Hankthehonk I previously had thyroid tested with my pregnancy bloods as had an episode of hyperactive as a teen, however it's always come back normal. Could be worth checking again though now for sure. Regarding progesterone I'm not quite sure... pretty certain I am ovulating (especially with having the CP) and my luteal phase is always 13/14 days, no spotting etc.. so hopefully that's ok. But yeah, stuff to think about. 👍🏻

Hankthehonk · 12/09/2023 11:31

@SnookyPook If you don't have any symptoms of low progesterone it might not be worth checking Proov, it can be the case that people are ovulating regularly but progesterone levels are too low to sustain pregnancy. The Proov tests are another way to confirm ovulation but they also tell you your progesterone levels with a number, worth checking out and seeing if you think it's something worth checking out for yourself. Might not be based on what you've said! It was my irregular cycles coupled with the miscarriage that made me wonder if it was a factor for me.

xxcxdonxx · 12/09/2023 11:31

Thanks @SnookyPook @Hankthehonk it’s just not easy is it?!
I’ve asked if there is anything I can do in the meantime but there doesn’t seem to be but I’ve called my midwife just incase she can offer any other insight.

Jadeypie · 12/09/2023 11:31

@xxcxdonxx aww I'm so so sorry that your going through this! That wait is going to be awful. Just do the best you can in ways to cope. I will send as much positivity I can xxx

Sez281 · 12/09/2023 11:45

Oh @xxcxdonxx I'm so sorry you're going through this. It's absolutely horrendous😞. There's nothing I can say to make you feel better I just hope the next 2 weeks doesn't drag too much for you. As somebody else said we all know in this group not to get our hopes up too much but you really never know so crossing absolutely everything for you 🙏🙏 xxx

@SnookyPook I'll be going to my gp next Monday. I'm going to ask about a 21 day pdg test to see we what my levels are. Same as you I'm sure I'm ovulating but I'd be interested to know about my progesterone. She prescribed me cyclogest pessaries to start as soon as I get my BFP but I've read from others that they take them from 3DPO so I'm going to ask about that. Have you had any scans? Maybe ask for a tv one just to make sure there's no cysts or fibroids(I have quite large ones with my endo but they don't seem to be affecting things) . I'm going to talk to her about clomid and baby aspirin too as I've gone down a few rabbit holes on that. I know my tubes are ok as I've conceived twice this year so I don't think I need a hyscosy but I think I'll be looking to get referred for a hysterocopy if no sign of anything by the end of the year. None of these might apply to your situation but some might be worth discussing xx

Thanks so much @Jadeypie @Sez281 its much appreciated!!

SnookyPook · 12/09/2023 14:21

@Sez281 thank you! Some great ideas there. I've not had an official scan but, after my MMC they did a scan in case of retained products and the sonographer talked me through what she could see a bit. She said it all looked healthy and she could see follicles in both ovaries etc which I found reassuring! I presume anything concerning would have probably been seen then? 21 day pdg for levels could be sensible and is pretty much what Hank was suggesting isn't it. Baby aspirin is interesting. I was on it from 12wks with first pregnancy anyway due to Sis having preeclampsia and I did get gestational hypertension in 3rd trimester so probs wouldn't harm to have it... thanks for the ideas! Hope your appointment goes well too - sorry you're in a very similar situation! Xx

Westy22 · 13/09/2023 09:04

Morning, just catching up.

I'm sorry you scan didn't give you the reassurance you needed, I've been in the position of having to keep going back to see what's changed so I know how long those days feel. Ill keep hoping for you ❤️ @xxcxdonxx

@SnookyPook my gp is awful so I've not really asked for any advice, I've had bloods done to check hormone levels which look normal and whilst under epu they had a good look at my ovaries etc there feedback was always positive, everything looked as it should and my womb lining was good. My progesterone was very good during the pregnancy so I believe my MC was more egg quality maybe? So I'm just trying to keep my vitamin levels good to help that, I've bought coq10 to take but haven't started it religiously yet, I did baby aspirin last month but wasn't sure if that's why I spotted a bit more than I normally would? Plus I got like 1000 bruises 🙈 I'll probably take it again this month but only one tablet rather than two.

Westy22 · 13/09/2023 09:09

AF has officially stopped 🙏 so won't ruin the holiday 🤣 feel alot more relaxed about it this month and I've not packed any opk so just going to try and enjoy myself. I have however brought preseed 🤣🤣 my friend recommended it lol I didn't know it had the applicators etc 😳

xxcxdonxx · 13/09/2023 09:23

Thanks @Westy22 appreciate it. It feels a long wait but what will be will be as they say.

Great news that AF has stopped, hope you have a fab holiday!!

Sez281 · 13/09/2023 12:58

@Westy22 that's hilarious I literally told my OH last night that I'm getting pressed for next cycle! Dying to hear how you find it. The applicator thing doesn't exactly scream sexy time 🥴😂 Glad AF has finished up. Enjoy the rest of your hols 😎xx

Out of curiosity is preseed just like lube? You use it when dtd? X

Yep except it is specifically made for people ttc as it's sperm friendly and apparently pushes up the little swimmers a bit more if you don't have a lot of cm. I'm not sure if it works but it's not expensive so no harm trying 🤷‍♀️

Westy22 · 13/09/2023 13:25

So I did a trial run last night where I actually "inserted" prior to going to dinner and put a panty liner on just incase, as i read somewhere that they did it earlier so it didn't ruin the moment 🤣 tbh not alot came back out although I only went up to 2 in terms of how much I used as I've read it can be too much lol other than that it was all good 🤣 can't believe I tell you guys these things 🤣

It does say the applicators don't have to be used but wanted to make sure it was higher up lol @Sez281 @Jadeypie

Sez281 · 13/09/2023 13:49

@Westy22 pmsl I don't think there's anything that's tmi on this thread 🤷‍♀️😂 Good idea trying it earlier.. I'm home from hols late Friday night but due to ovulate Saturday I think so might run out and get some that morning for our final last day or 2 hurrah 😂

OP posts:
Jadeypie · 13/09/2023 14:17

🤣🤣🤣 @Westy22 I agree with @Sez281 never tmi!! Good idea doing it before hand I could imagine it to be a mood killer Messing with applicators ect in the middle of getting frisky haha. According to my aps I'm due ov next sat @Sez281 so I'll be a week behind unless thes opks throw in a spanner and I've been getting it wrong ha xx

Sez281 · 13/09/2023 16:08

@Jadeypie well knowing my luck I won't hit peak till later and I'll be shattered as we've been dtd a lot already so praying it's this Saturday 🤞😂 If not at least we'll all be in tww together xx

SnookyPook · 14/09/2023 11:41

Wow... GP just rang... HCG was eeeeeever so slightly raised - level of 3!!!! Buuuut enough for her to acknowledge I was right and it looks like a 'biochemical miscarriage'. So I feel validated. If the blood test had been any later probs wouldn't have shown at all. Hopefully it won't happen again, but if it does, at least this means this one now counts and I'd be on a quicker path to additional help, or more early scans etc.

For context, can't remember if I posted before but I felt a bit fobbed off and like they thought I was a bit of a crazy lady when I went in so I'm glad that I was right and at least this will be on my record now which she had implied it wouldn't be if the test came back negative.

Good luck to those in fertile week/entering tww! Also agree - never tmi here!

Sez281 · 14/09/2023 12:20

That's great @SnookyPook it's important that you were validated and they are accepting it as a loss. Unfortunately I was too late getting my bloods after my CP in July so I do think that my GP as lovely (as she is) thought that I had imagined it which is extremely frustrating. Hopefully it won't come to you needing any specialist treatment but at least you have a record of it now if required down the road x

OP posts:
Hankthehonk · 14/09/2023 12:21

@SnookyPook I'm pleased for you! Even though it's a horrible thing to have any sort of positivity around, it is validating that the chemical is being recognised and is on your record. Hopefully the next time you fall pregnant it sticks and you never need to worry about the enhanced care that comes after three losses, though

xxcxdonxx · 14/09/2023 15:24

That’s a positive to come out of it @SnookyPook but frustrating that they potentially wouldn’t have recorded it. I didn’t have mine recorded at the end of last year, I didn’t really know it was a thing to be honest.

Sez281 · 14/09/2023 17:40

So I think my batch of easy@home opks might be a bit dodgy. Either that or I ovulated yesterday on day 10 🫤 (the peak isn't even high, I usually get double that number like 1.5 or something) I really don't think I did though as I usually get ovulation pain, a reasonable amount of cm and sore boobs and haven't really had any. I've attached pic of tests too where you can see that even the control line is quite light. I'll keep testing over the next few days but it's so frustrating as I don't know what's going on now 😞
