@Pineappleapple i know! Finally being the weirdo who hates all that will pay off!! The only reason I know about the hot tub thing is because I saw it in a YouTube vid I watched about implantation a while back otherwise I wouldn’t have mentioned it and would probably have bobbed around in there for a little bit at least! So many things I didn’t/don’t know about, I wish there was some kind of class or course I could take 😂

BB2023 · 17/08/2023 09:52

Hope you have a lovely time @MrsBP15 💖

El1988 · 17/08/2023 11:42

Hi all, just about to head into the TWW for this month (I think, I’m a little concerned this was an anovulatory cycle because I’ve been very stressed with work and my bbt has been all over the place) but fingers crossed it works out this time… I don’t have a good feeling though. Let’s see. Just going to try to distract myself for the next 10 days or so 🙈 because that’s as long as I will manage to hold out before testing 🙈

@MrsBP15 enjoy the wedding etc! I think half our friends are convinced I’m pregnant already because I haven’t been drinking for months 🙈 I know what you mean though, there’s soooo much information out there and I’m never sure if something is snake oil or actually valuable information (outside of the obvious, basic things) I wish there was just one document that was like “do this this and this, take these vitamins and that’s it”

H0pefull · 17/08/2023 13:10

Hi ladies,

Not sure if anyone remembers me😂 I took a few weeks off from here due to just feeling so deflated after another unsuccessful month.
I had my GP appointment today and he didn’t ask me to do any blood tests or anything, I was just referred to gynaecology at the hospital. I have been done the E referral and the waiting list is currently 38 weeks so I just have to sit tight and wait for an appointment. I don’t know what I was expecting from today but I feel even more deflated now.
I hope everyone is ok and I am sorry for this somewhat selfish and whiney post, I’m just finding this so difficult and also lonely x

Eirlys1986 · 17/08/2023 13:17

@H0pefull sorry about the bad GP experience, it can be so disheartening when you’ve worked yourself up for something then the outcome wasn’t what you expect. Why have they referred you to gynaecology rather than a fertility clinic? It may be that services work differently where you are but certainly local to me we cannot refer and be accepted to fertility clinic unless all the bloods and tests are done first. If you feel uncertain about the outcome or plan I would strongly suggest respectfully asking for another call to discuss things with a female GP then you will hopefully feel more settled with regards the way forwards 👍🏻 x

H0pefull · 17/08/2023 13:27

Thanks for replying @Eirlys1986 . I did think about ringing and asking for another appointment but I wasn’t sure if I was being unreasonable, you’ve made me feel better so I will try again.
I’m in the North West (UK) but nobody I know IRL has gone through this referral process so I’m not completely sure what the norm is. He did say however “the fact that you had a miscarriage last year puts you in a good position for investigation as it shows you can actually get pregnant, so that’s encouraging” I get what he was trying to say, but feel like he could have improved on the wording 🙄x

El1988 · 17/08/2023 15:04

Hi @H0pefull

I would agree with @Eirlys1986 and say push for a second opinion from a female GP, or even another practice. It seems very odd and dismissive to me that they wouldn’t do even the basic blood tests.

I’m sorry you had this negative experience and I hope you find a GP who will listen to your concerns soon.

Pineappleapple · 17/08/2023 15:04

Hi hopefull, I remember you. Hmm, my referral came under gynecology, I think the letter said but it was to the fertility clinic. About a 2 month wait I think. So if they think you are at the point a referral is justified I think you could query it - you could ask is it a fertility or gynae referral and ask if another hospital has a shorter wait to start with? That wouldn't sound like you are challenging them too much just finding out more info

RoseH36 · 18/08/2023 08:00

@H0pefull mine was the same as @Pineappleapple, I was referred through gynae as the recurrent miscarriage clinic in my area falls under their care but it was a micarriage specialist I've spoken to. I had a telephone consultation at the beginning of August after a cancellation became available. It's from them I've now got my blood test form and am awaiting a scan appointment to come through separately.

BB2023 · 18/08/2023 08:26

Started testing for OV 5 days ago, got low readings until today where it suddenly jumped to peak (missing out high completely!). It's my first month after MC so I wasn't tracking with the intention of trying as such, but more just to see my body get back into a cycle. By total fluke we just happened to dtd last night 🤣 Might be good timing but I guess unlikely we'd fall pregnant again so soon after the MC which is fine, we were going to try and get at least one AF out the way before trying again. At least I have more of an idea when AF should be due now, not so stuck in limbo xx

CurlyWurly1991 · 18/08/2023 17:11

welcome back @H0pefull
@BB2023 that does sound like good dtd timing. Hopefully you caught that egg!

I’m having an odd cycle, CD20 and no ‘peak’ on the one step OPKs. Last few cycles tracking I’ve o’d between CD11 and 18 and my periods are irregular. The Opk readings on Premom have only got up to about 0.8 over the past few cycles I’ve charted. Still the highest reading this cycle has been 0.4.
The odd thing is that usually my readings go right back down to like 0.1 or 0.05 after the peak, but this cycle they have hovered between 0.1 and 0.4 since I started testing on CD8. Temp, CP and CM are suggesting I may have ovulated CD18 but with Opk testing 4/5 times per day from 11-8pm is it likely that I could have missed a LH peak? Seems more likely that ovulation hasn’t happened yet or it’s an Anovulatory cycle based on the OPKs, no?
Then again I never got a true positive Opk when TTC my first child, but don’t think I was as well informed that time and probably only tested once or twice a day.

CurlyWurly1991 · 18/08/2023 17:13

This is my FF chart which shows it better than I can explain!

Pineappleapple · 18/08/2023 19:48

Just trying to drink these vitamins and doing ovulation test, what an evening!!

El1988 · 19/08/2023 08:35

@CurlyWurly1991 what is an FF chart? 🙈

i think I’m also having an odd cycle - I track using the Oura ring and natural cycles, and I had two significant temp dips, one around CD10 and one around CD15 - historically I’ve ovulated on CD13-15, but now natural cycles is telling me CD10 was my ovulation and I’m like nooooo. If that really is the case we might get very lucky because we DTD on CD6 and CD8, but then we were really focussed on CD11 onwards because we were working off of the historical pattern and yeah I’m just feeling a bit deflated… I was really really hoping we’d manage it this month 😔

i might just work off of my normal pattern and test around 10/11 days after cd15 (if AF hasn’t come by then)… let’s see.

my sister is visiting this weekend, and I have another friend visiting next weekend, so it’s keeping me distracted at least…

hope everyone is doing well, and sending you lots of baby dust!

Pineappleapple · 19/08/2023 22:54

FF is fertility friend I think which is an app. I can't help at all though sorry @CurlyWurly1991, I just do the clear blue ovulation tests and go by them.

Hopefull hope it was ok with the GP if you got in touch

Stephy1024 · 20/08/2023 10:31

Hi ladies. Hope your all doing well. I haven't been online for afew weeks. Felt i needed sometime to reset myself sorta thing. But im back in the game.

CurlyWurly1991 · 20/08/2023 21:16

No worries @Pineappleapple since posting I had my temps go back up and so ov confirmed, now 4dpo. Missed catching a positive Opk this cycle but did dtd the day before ovulation so should still be in with a chance 🤞

Pineappleapple · 20/08/2023 22:16

Fingers crossed curlywurly. I'm doing clear blue, flashing smiley so not ovulation yet but coming up, DTD yesterday and today so even if next few days don't work out feel like we have done our best! It's hard to plan with a toddler, any time isn't guaranteed!

Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow · 22/08/2023 08:32

Hi all just checking in.

Im 8dpo so have a few days before testing yet. I wondered does anyone have any views on the best pregnancy tests? I’m on holiday so had to buy some before I left. I swear by FRERs but couldn’t find one in boots so have Clear blues (non digital) with me. Are they reliable for early testing?

CurlyWurly1991 · 22/08/2023 08:39

@Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow Ive always used either FRER, boots early or one step internet cheapies. I’m a tightwad though and don’t want to spend £10+ on a test only to see a BFN!

MrsBP15 · 22/08/2023 10:47

Hi all hope you’re well and had a good weekend. I was at this wedding which was so fun and really good for distracting me.

My period is due on Friday and I’ve just been to the loo and noticed some spotting. This would be very in line with my period coming as I always spot for about three days before. As such I think I’m out for this month 😔 totally gutted but didn’t have the intense reaction I’ve had the last few times, guess I’m getting used to it? Oh well, onto the next cycle I guess!!

@Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow i can’t really advise on tests as I don’t take them until my period is late which basically never happens so I don’t have much experience!! I’ve seen a lot about cheapies and then using CB digital when you get a positive on those. Good luck!!!

BB2023 · 22/08/2023 11:10

@Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow I use boots early tests. Xx

BB2023 · 22/08/2023 11:13

@MrsBP15 Sorry to hear you think AF is on the way. Keeping everything crossed for your positive to come along soon. Xx

No updates from me really. Only 3DPO but also first month since MC so we didn't really try this month. I'll be fine whatever the outcome as I'd just like to get my cycles back on track and then we can properly try again xx

MrsBP15 · 22/08/2023 14:23

thank you @BB2023 having said I haven’t reacted in the same way as before I have just completely broken down and bawled my eyes out. Feeling so alone and confused, even though I know we haven’t been trying for that long it feels like forever. I know it will pass and I’ll feel better in a few days but for now just feel so shit.

Fingers crossed for you that you get your BFP or your cycles start to settle asap ✨

H0pefull · 22/08/2023 15:10

Hi ladies 🥰

Trying my best to be positive following my disappointing fertility appointment with the GP last week…anybody else 1DPO and just heading into the TWW? x
