@Floralsandsmiles I'm good. this week I'm starting to take some hormone pills day 3-5 of my cycle. Next week I got an appointment where I think they are going to do blood tests and do an internal scan. Then I gotta track ovulation and come back for an IUI procedure when I'm ovulating. Crossing fingers this works. This whole TTCing journey is getting exhausting if I'm honest or maybe I'm just getting old 😅
Did you schedule any blood tests or appointments to see an obgyn? Do you have to wait a certain period beforehand?
Also what's a boots test? 🤔 is that the name of the test? I keep seeing this on these forums but not sure we have this in Canada. If I say cheapie tests I think easy @home is that the same thing?

@hime

Aww this is good @VixFromThe6ix ! Very positive steps! Will this be your first IUI procedure?
I agree, the TTC is absolute crap! And not to mention exhausting!
I have signed up to a midwife and apparently they then get in contact for bloodwork, but have a feeling that's closer to the 8 week mark. I'm really hoping it's sooner!! I need to talk about when they will put a stitch in (my previous DC was born at 25 weeks 13 years ago and the issue will repeat unfortunetly 😒)
Aww sorry! The boots test is a name of a test. It's a store in the UK, with a pharmacy in. The test is one of their branded ones, but it's not sensitive like it claims and is rubbish! Lol
Cheapie tests are the easy at home and they are great! I used their ovulation ones too and found them better then all the competitive ones! 😊 xxxx

Aww no, now I've just had some spotting 😭😭 xxx

Yes!! It's my first round. I'm nervous and a little excited. We've faced some hurdles recently and I'm just happy to have options. Our fertility doctor said we should do this for 3-4 cycles and we will touch base again and see what's next if this doesn't work. We are also now on the IVF waiting list. So plan a and b. Though I'm honestly not looking forward to Ivf as I know how hard it is on the body, but it's an option so I'll take it if I have to.

Oh 8 weeks sounds like forever!!! I guess they wait that long to see if there is a heartbeat. Since I had two MCs I always got my blood work done early and frequently. I remember when we were last pregnant with my now son we had bloods/ultrasound at like 5 weeks and again at 7 (where we heard the heartbeat). And next one was 12 and those 5 weeks felt like the longest of my life. If I could I'd go every week 😅

I love that you have midwives. I don't really know how this works like here. I feel like once heartbeat is detected you're assigned to a obgyn at the hospital where you would deliver, and that's who you deal with throughout the pregnancy. But I didn't love mine cause it felt like she didn't give two craps about me, and I feel this is where midwives would be different. Maybe I'm wrong lol but I imagine they are sweet kind and full of compassion.

Sorry to sound ignorant but is the stitch because it helps carry to term? I'm sorry love if you shared this before, but would love to know.

Thank you for clarifying on the boots test, now I know and I agree that easy at home tests are great. I use both ovulation and pregnancy sticks and both have worked well for me. Pregnancy being detected as early as 7dpo.

Aww no, now I've just had some spotting 😭😭 xxx

Oh no!!! Is it red or brown?? Spotting is common in the first trimester but I'd be running to emerge if it's red though just to be safe.

It's red!! 😔 and I don't think there would be anything they could do If it was already red is there? As its not even past my period yet? (I'm only 12dpo!) Xxx

That's not always true. There could be reasons for it being red. I would go get it checked out because I'd want answers, or wait to see if it gets heavier or remains light and hopefully goes away. I'm praying for the best for you. ❤️🙏 Stay strong

Aww I'm so glad you have some options now, it's honestly so reassuring. Just so you don't feel stuck in the same old cycle all the time!
Aww I like your image you have of our system here and normal that is accurate yes. I will admit it's some time since I've visited one though, so no idea if it's the same as I remember or not.. lol
Yes, the stitch would enable me to carry to term, so.im hoping they would put that in ASAP (if this little eggo survives). Xxx

I've just done another test and it's the same strength as my others today. But I guess it wouldn't immediately change would it.
Maybe if I went to a&e they would do me a blood test and make me repeat in 24 hours. They would then be able to tell if its a chemical or not? Xxx

Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow · 10/08/2023 20:03

@Floralsandsmiles some
spotting (red or brown) is totally normal in early pregnancy. I really wouldn’t panic. I spotted in all 6 of mine. 2 were healthy babies, 2 developed into obvious miscarriages (bleeding got heavier and was like a period), and 2 ended up as missed miscarriages but I don’t think the spotting was a sign of anything one way or another.

Personally I wouldn’t go to A&E unless you are in pain as they basically won’t do anything other than a dip stick pregnancy test and send you home to wait and see what happens.

If you have pain (esp in your shoulder or pain that gets worse) then do get checked out in case of ectopic pregnancy. and obviously wait and see how things go over the next few days. The earliest a scan would show anything is around 6 weeks.

RoseH36 · 10/08/2023 20:07

@Floralsandsmiles I really hope it's not a chemical for you. With mine I had only had my positive test for 10 days then spotting started. It very quickly became heavy so I just knew what was happening. Had a negative test 2 days later. See how you go overnight and call the hospital tomorrow if its still happening.

Eirlys1986 · 10/08/2023 20:33

@Floralsandsmiles sorry to hear about the spotting. It is very common though and you really can’t surmise anything for pregnancy tests changing in strength at this point. I know nothing anyone says will make you feel less anxious though which is totally understandable. Perhaps see how things go over next 24 hours if there is no current pain. A and E sadly won’t do anything at this point. EPAU would perhaps be a better shout but I don’t know whether they would do serial HCG bloods and progesterone blood test to monitor potential viability at this point. You’ve certainly nothing to lose by ringing them tomorrow. You should be able to get through to them by ringing the hospital switch. Sending hugs xxxx

Floralsandsmiles · 10/08/2023 20:42

Thanks all, I'm going to wait this out at home, but I'm devasted as deep down I know this is it. It was a nice dream for a few days xxx

Floralsandsmiles · 11/08/2023 07:05

Morning ladies, thank you for your kind messages. I hope you are all ok?

So I've woken up and hotter than hell! I've done a CB test and still positive and I'd say stronger than the initial one. However lots of spotting this morning! I even had a tiny clot last night. So I'm thinking maybe this is a CP. Everywhere I have read says some spotting could still be OK, but not as much as I've had or the little clot.. 😒
Even if the test got me hopeful this morning as its darker.. 😒

Xxxx

Freya8 · 11/08/2023 07:28

@Floralsandsmiles im still crossing everything for you xxxx i know my sister in law bled alot at start. Still doesnt make it any easier the sheer worry xxxx

RoseH36 · 11/08/2023 07:48

@Floralsandsmiles I'd definitely give the hospital a call for advice this morning. Sadly a darker line doesn't necessarily mean anything. Good luck and thinking of you x

Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow · 11/08/2023 08:15

@Floralsandsmiles hang on in there! Obviously you’re going to fear the worst but it really could go either way at this stage. Just keep calm and see how things play out over the next couple of days. I have faith all will be well!

On much more boring topic I’ve got another flipping flashing smiley at cd14…was really expecting static by now.

MOGMOGMOG85 · 11/08/2023 08:17

@Floralsandsmiles I had something like 5 episodes of bleeding with my son, including a small clot. I had nothing with my mmc until 10 weeks. If that helps. I know it's hell not knowing - the sad truth is you just don't know, so don't give up hope yet xxx

@VixFromThe6ix I haven't read all of your updates but I'm so happy to see things have changed so much for you since I last checked in and you are moving ahead with a plan of action! I've got a good feeling for you! Xx

@SnookyPook I'm so sorry to hear you are struggling atm. Af being 3 days late is brutal after all youve been through. I took a week off after my period started, no explanation necessary, take as much time as you need xx

I haven't read everyone's updates yet, I will do.

I got an unexpected cash bonus today- enough to buy myself those expensive vitamins you guys recommended (proceive plus or something?). My partner is on myexpertmidwife this month which is £25 as opposed to £50. My question is - when is the optimum time to take these vitamins? I'm on day 11 now so presumably it's a bit late for this month. If I want to maximise the benefit and maybe stretch the pills out between a couple months which days should I target??

I also took a cb ovulation test last night and there was absolutely nothing. I'm worried now. Took one on day 15 last month and the line was dark but not as dark as the test. I'll obvs keep testing daily now, but worried by the lack of lh. Anyone else know anything about these things??

Listening to 28ish days later on BBC sounds - not fertility centred but highly recommended to learn more about and regain some much needed respect for your amazing body and womb! Xxx
