Welcome @hennie222 this is a lovely and supportive group. I also sometimes take time off from the forums as ttc feels like a long battle. I am ttc #1, now 38 but started earlier this year when I was 37. Onto my 7th cycle but one of the cycles I definitely didn't ovulate as the cycle was so short. I do feel impatient but I know it can take longer over 35. Not much comfort when you want it to happen straight away!

Endomummy · 05/07/2023 16:34

Hey ladies thanks for tagging me in the new thread. I’ve been avoiding mumsnet during the Tww as I was trying not to symptom spot and drive myself mad but sadly can’t help it. Now 10DPO with severe cramps and a BFN. Multiple BFNs if I’m honest. It’s like having a pissing contest with myself… 🙈 even though I know it’s going to be another unsuccessful month I can’t help the little hope that these cramps could be implantation. I had awful implantation pains with my daughter. Anyway that’s my update for now. Hope everyone else is doing good!? I am wondering at what point do I go for IVF. I’ve had one child and had a chemical 7 months ago so I can get pregnant, maybe I’m being impatient but this has gone on for ages and now I’m 35 I just feel stressed by it all. I don’t want to be depressing either so I’ve avoided posting. Xx

cornflakes86 · 06/07/2023 19:43

@Endomummy i know what you mean about not knowing when to go for ivf it’s a big decision and so expensive

Butterfly2000 · 07/07/2023 17:14

Glad I found the new thread! Ttc has taken a back seat to other things in life and I was/am struggling so checked out of the original thread for a bit. Things are still not great but I'm here lurking 😁 in the hope the someday things get back on track. Plus you're all such lovely and supportive ladies I can't keep away!
How is everyone?? Any bfp's? x

cornflakes86 · 07/07/2023 19:38

@Butterfly2000 1dpo here . Sorry to be negative but already not hopeful! How are you doing ?

MissKH84 · 07/07/2023 19:54

Can i join please. ttc for 4 years now. Suspected endometriosis. Have had pain every day in my right side and worried it may be a blocked tube . Ivf was mentioned but Its just so shit being pushed towards ivf,I just wanna know do I have endometriosis or not, not just ignore it . Its like doctors just don't care what your going through they don't want to diagnose you .
I'm currently cycle day 15 but not feeling like I'm going to ovulate yet

ttcat37 · 07/07/2023 20:46

@MissKH84 have you had an HSG? That will check your tubes are clear. It also has a side effect of an increased pregnancy rate for 3+ months afterwards. I fell pregnant the month after my HSG.

Butterfly2000 · 07/07/2023 21:39

@cornflakes86 Why are you not hopeful?

Welcome @MissKH84 Has your GP not done any tests? I know it's not an option for everyone but how about having tests done privately

cornflakes86 · 08/07/2023 08:48

@Butterfly2000 i have been trying nearly 2 years and it’s bfn every month apart from a mmc I had 8 months ago. I got pregnant the cycle after a hycosy when I had the miscarriage. I just can’t imagine myself getting pregnant naturally at this stage but I should try and stay hopeful I guess. how long have you been trying ? I find it hard to keep track of everyone’s stories on this thread there are so many of us !

niknaks37 · 08/07/2023 11:23

Thank you @Angelsrose @MK85 @cornflakes86 @AnaReis for your kind words and sympathy. I took a couple of days just to process my thoughts, I did have a good cry while DH was at the gym. Which relieved alot of feelings that had been building that day. I almost nearly paid for randox to do a blood test to assess all my fertility 🤦🏼‍♀️ but DH made me see a bit of sense, giving it one more cycle. Dont really want to go to my GP as I know it will take a while to get appointment and results.

Hey to those who just joined the thread, hope your ttc journey brings those BFPs soon.

Hi Ladies I might jump in if that's ok. 40yrs old had MMC on first pregnancy at the start of March, we weren't actively trying them just letting nature take its course so it was a complete shock and delight that I was able to get pregnant as I have endometriosis too. It's taken a while for body to return to normal and have only had proper cycles since May. Now we're actively ttc (although my DP isn't aware of dates as I don't want to put pressure on him😂) I'm currently 9DPO and have so many symptoms but all my tests have been BFN (I know I shouldn't have tested so early but I have no will power 🙈) AF due on Wednesday so I'm going to try not test again until then if it doesn't come 🤞

Welcome! I'm also POAS crazy, hence why I buy IC tests 😅 or else I'd go broke! Good luck on your 2WW!! 😍🤰🏻 I'm thinking maybe I should wait until we come back from our hols in September... I have nasty 1st trimesters, so I can't imagine being on hols vomiting all the time 🤢😵 and feeling generally like 💩 but then again I have no guarantee that I'll get pregnant in the meantime 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hey
Im 36.5 ....

Tried twice in my ( hopefully ) fertile window this cycle
Although was i think latter part of fertile window..

Was in hosp this week - had 2 scans to check ovaries / check 4 cysts and fibroids etc b4 we tried

They noted corpus luteum on my left ovary - and scan was within my fertile window - - this makes me think maybe we tried 24 ish - 36 ish hours too late

Tried the day after scans but only got scan results ( scanz were late tues ) late fri night....

I used to worry maybe pcos - i have some symptons ie unwanted hair / i get my chin waxed & high amh..
But then my testosterone came back within normal range on private hormone & fertility tests...

I worried that if pcos- maybe not ovulating - bought ovulation sticks but yeah..

Thinking maybe the corpus luteum means i do ovulate - ( who knows!?)

Now nervous as scan showed a small fibroid
.
Not spoke to dr yet.

Worried that i read that if they wana remove it - might have to not try for 3 - 6 months - maybe they'll leave it there given my age and hopes - who knows

Sez281 · 08/07/2023 13:18

Thanks @AnaReis 😊 I have the cheap internet tests too although I think maybe it's a bad thing as I have so many it's too easy to give in and rest too early🥴, there's no way I would if I didn't have easy access cos I'd go broke too 😂 I know what you mean about maybe waiting until after hols. I'm due to fly off to Spain next Thursday and af due Wednesday. Obviously I'll be absolutely thrilled if I get a BFP but a teeny part of me would prefer it to be next cycle so I can enjoy the holiday and have a few drinks etc 🙈

worldwidetravel2017 · 08/07/2023 13:23

Also - hertility health - hormone and fertility testing - ive used twice - very reasonably priced and very informative - i recommend them to people trying who want a biggr picture

Equally - anyone who thinks maybe pcos - they check 4 stuff that - that links with

Hi @worldwidetravel2017

Hopefully this might put your mind at rest a bit, I had a tv scan last Dec for suspected endo which showed large fibroids and complex thick corpus luteal cyst on one of my ovaries. I wasn't actively ttc at that time but was just aware of my dates and letting nature take its course. I got what I assumed to be a period in Jan but it was actually implementation bleeding and I got a bfp at the end of Jan. unfortunately the pregnancy wasn't viable and I had a MMC at the end of Feb at 8w which also resulted in needing an erpc but all of the doctors told me that it wasn't related to my fibroids or cysts and the fact that I got pregnant is a very positive sign so hopefully it's the same for you 🙏

And so sorry to hear of your MMC

Hope you are lucky soon

Butterfly2000 · 08/07/2023 15:58

@cornflakes86 Sorry to hear about your loss. Maybe do something for you. I had a couple of weeks where I felt better after having some time with friends and family and a bit of pampering. You've managed to get pregnant before so it's possible x

@niknaks37 Sending you big hugs x Sometimes a good cry till there are ni tears left is needed

@worldwidetravel2017 I recently found out I have a small fibroid. GP's not concerned as it's small and not in a position that should affect my fertility. My mum who's a retired midwife/nurse thought the same when she read the result. So there's still hope!

Butterfly2000 · 08/07/2023 16:02

I know that pcos can cause high lh readings but my readings have never been this high and I'm having what I think is ovulation pain. A lot going on in life so no chance to dtd recently so know I'm out for this month but I'd be so pleased if this opk is right and my body seems to be working as it should! 🤞🏽

I had a hycosy in September of last year and they said my tubes were open, no other comments or information shared but I just feel its the recent months in which something feels different and that's raised my concern it could be endometriosis related as I know tissue from that can block your tubes . I don't know how quickly endometriosis can grow. Its just so annoying not being able to get a diagnosis to my fertility problems and discomfort. My husbands sperm all came back fine

MK85 · 08/07/2023 16:58

@worldwidetravel2017
Have they mentioned anything about the scans having polycystic appearance?
It's possible for some women to have androgens in the normal range but still suffer from related symptoms.

Some women with pcos don't even have all the follicles on ovaries. I think they measure your FSH LH ratio and combine that with any symptoms to determine pcos, you need 2 symptoms for diagnosis.
With me there was no doubt, I have every bloody symptom , polycystic ovaries, high androgens, unwanted hair , high amh, irregular periods / no ovulation.
Severity really varies person to person.
I'd push for a diagnosis or to rule it out at least. I went to my gp when I was 17 about this... and didnt get a diagnosis of pcos until 33. It was kinda brushed off over the years because at that point in time my only symtoms were skipping periods and difficultly getting pregnant but it just got progressively worse over the years. I think it was always there my whole life but I don't think doctors had the knowledge of understanding it to give me a diagnosis

MK85 · 08/07/2023 17:00

@Butterfly2000 that looks positive to me.
What do your readings usually look like ? Do you often get surges of lh ?
I know some women say they don't work but I've never had an issue using opks with pcos. I've only ever got a positive like that if I've ovulated

And unwanted hair

I did private hormone and fertility tests
So i have many numbers
And many things checked

My shbg was low

Its been sent 2 gp

Im awaiting rhuematoid arthritis blood test next week - i had glandular fever last year unfortunately - the unwanted gift that keeps on giving..
Had 3 x polyps removed from my bowel in an urgent colonoscopy recently - - - its all going on and has been for a while...

Will talk 2 gp next week

Had iron iv in hosp in may as my feretin was only 8..(!)
Was a super premature baby so my body is terrible at obsorbing iron...

Ive ordered a pcos supplement that worked for / helped many. Has myo inositol...

worldwidetravel2017 · 08/07/2023 17:29

They said my ovaries were in normal range etc

No something something masses ....

And no fluid etc

Butterfly2000 · 08/07/2023 19:44

@MK85 Normally it rises over about 24hrs. The highest reading I've had so far was .75 in May. I think I'll persevere with the opks and try to reintroduce bbt. I wonder whether Metformin is making a difference or the vitamins and diet. My pcos was diagnosed because my blood about 10yrs ago. Ovaries have always been normal. But I struggle with my weight, acne and facial hair. Back to laser for the hair next month though.
