@cornflakes86 no a hycosy can't detect it at all .
Basically it affects your ovaries and hormones but the extent of it varies woman to woman. Some women have it and really aren't even aware ( symptoms might not be noticeable and regular periods ect ) and others like myself have it quite severe.
Apart from all the follicles on the ovary , I think they look at your fsh and lh ratio aswell as your androgens levels to determine if you have it or not.

@cornflakes86 I took years and years trying to get a diagnosis .
most doctors just really didn't/ still don't understand it.
When I finally did get diagnosed they pretty much were able to diagnose me there and then just based on my symptoms as I was a classic pcos case

@MK85 thanks for that info.sounds very frustrating that you had to go through all that to get a diagnosis

Wow! Amazing. Congrats. I’m 43 but not had anything yet. Probably trying since December/Jan but not with much effort. I was pregnant just over a year ago but no idea if it’s likely now.

12dpo day 26 of my cycle, AF is due tomorrow, if I get past day 29 there may just be hope. My mind is focusing on every twinge at the moment.
Breasts are back to being tender again, no other symptoms.

@niknaks37 ugh the tww is just the worst isn't it?! I don't think I've ever analysed every feeling in my body so much before as I do in that 2 weeks 😂 do you feel like AF is on the way or like you might have caught? I would have definitely caved and tested by now 😂😂

I've been doing IC tests every day and all negative (also did Morrisons one today). Today I had a bit of pink spotting and I'm on CD29... Don't understand what happened to my cycle this month if I'm not pregnant. I registered fertile mucous on day 13 and 14 and that was about it this month in terms of registering. I thought my period was coming and had cramps and lots of symptoms from CD24 to CD26 but no AF... No positive tests either... But I think AF is going to show up tomorrow.... 🙄

@thejollytrolleydolly I kind of thought with my tender breasts the last couple of days that would have been a give away.
I usually get the odd cramp when going to gym nothing, sorry for the TMI but near my AF when DTD I would then too but again nothing. Also my bowels are off as well, so when i think the crampy pain could be AF it turns out to be my bowels.
I'm due AF today but I'm just not feeling like it will arrive.
My brain is now switching to all the thoughts of, if I am pregnant... I ended up really disappointed the last time and not in a good place when AF arrived.
I'll keep going though and see what happens.

@niknaks37 aw well good luck! It all sounds positive to me! I always get a really dodgy tummy the week before I get a BFP. I'm thinking positive thoughts for you! Xx

@niknaks37 the month I had a bfp bowel cramps were the only symptom I had

Hi all, hope it's ok to join! I'm ttc #1 aged 38! I started trying aged 37, so onto the 6th cycle. Seems to be taking so long! Symptom spotting is just the worst, I am so aware of each and every twinge. Sending baby dust to all and @niknaks37 I hope this is your month!

@Angelsrose welcome! Nice to have another who is similar to myself! I too started at 37, been a year in June of trying. Symptom spotting is awful, never have I ever been so in tune with my body! 😆.

Thanks ladies! Well nausea is back, AF has yet to arrive and I'm now 2 days late. Convinced my nips have got larger too 🤭🤦🏼‍♀️. I'm not getting those just before cramps, each time I do and think uh oh, turns out to be gas or bowel movement.
I'll be rage if all these symptoms are not 🤰 related.
If my AF doesnt arrive tomorrow, I will test the following day. Most I have ever been late is day 29 currently on day 28.

Hi ladies, can I join this thread as well? I'm 40, TTC#2 on cycle 2. I'm currently in the "golden week" as my DP calls it 😂. DS is 1.5 now, so we want to be 2 and done before we're too old and grumpy for the newborn stage again lol.

Welcome! That's the challenge isn't it? It's gathering the courage to go through the newborn and baby stage again 🥴 I have a 7yo (8 in 3 months) and a 3.5 year old.

@AnaReis yes! DS is mostly a really chilled out toddler so 99% of the time we're like "we got this". Then there's that 1%... 😵‍💫

I know what you mean! My 1st was such a calm little one! I didn't appreciate how calm she was until I had my second, who is like the cartoon tasmanian devil 😅 he has infinite energy! I wonder when we have a 3rd how will that one be 😅

AF arrived this afternoon 😢. Knew instantly with the type of cramp I was having, I was in work as well!
Talk about taking a knock, DH keeps checking in on me, he knows this one has hit me hard. Yet he is trying to pick me up, says we will keep going month by month and when it happens it will happen.

@niknaks37 I'm so sorry to hear that AF has arrived. I can really identify with how you feel as my partner and I were both convinced that this was our month until AF made an unwelcome appearance. 6 months seems like a really long time when ttc. Now I have read more, one or even 2 years of trying is not unexpected, especially over 35. Wishing you a successful cycle this month, and although it is easier said than done, please try to relax (this what I keep telling myself too!)

@niknaks37 ah sorry to hear that sweetheart. Was really hoping you were gonna get your bfp this month. Must be super shit nature playing all those tricks with the symptoms this month.
Af also arrived for me too . I knew anyway it wouldn't happen but I also didn't feel like af was going to come at all this month. I had zero of my typical symptoms and only knew it was on route from bbt

@niknaks37 sorry I was really hoping this was your month :( it’s so tough when this happens , I’ve been there .1 day late with hopes up then bfn followed by Af arrival. It’s so unfair . be kind to yourself in the next couple of days .

I’ve just come on☹️ Bang on time - so I will have to start trying on cycle 5 soon. I really don’t know why I’m not pregnant yet. Must be my age! 40

my husband has a sperm test next week, hopefully he’s okay. Who knows, he has two children but they are 17 and 19 - so maybe his sperm has deteriorated. Though he has s low sex drive and I hear this can be a sign of low sperm count.

Can I join in this fun? I've been off MN for a bit as it was all getting me down a bit. TTC #1, 38 early 39 and been "trying" for ~3 years (but only really properly going for it for about 1.5). Managed one mmc last year and now waiting on an NHS referral for IVF (or whatever they determine) but I'm not that hopeful on that...... CD4 here so a bit of time until OD....
