TTC a Rainbow...

Hello everyone. I thought I'd start a thread to see if anyone else is out there TTC their rainbow baby 🌈 and wants to join me?

Any loss is a valid loss here, early miscarriage, late miscarriage, chemicals, TFMRs etc. I know we can sometimes face judgement from others or have others not understand!

Hello,

Jumping in on this post if that’s ok? sorry to hear about everyone’s losses, it would be lovely to have a group of people of speak to whilst in this journey. Sometime your just need a space to vent and get reassurance! I hope you are all well :)

Angelselevenx · 03/07/2023 06:20

Hi ladies, jumping on here and joining in.

Sorry to hear of everyone's losses, I had a chemical on cycle 2 of TTC, now cycle 5 and had nothing since.

A friend of mine fell pregnant a similar time to when we did and she's just hit 15/16 weeks so it's a struggle.

@Halpmer I felt like this a couple of weeks ago. We've decided to 'not try' for the next month or so which means no OPK and no BBT tracking, don't know how my ocd is going to take it but seems to be the best way forward to prevent stressing about it!

Halpmer · 03/07/2023 07:51

@Kellyaust how are you getting on today? It's really hard to be kind to ourselves. We will get there.

@SnookyPook the grief really is like nothing else. It complicates so many other feelings too. I feel for you with the same due dates etc. I'm thankful I don't have that at play, I'd be beside myself. I've had to say to DH brother that I'm not sure I can be around their baby yet, just breaks my heart to have to say it. I love when there are rainbows around these days, I always like to take them as a sign ❤️🌈.

@Tryingfornumbertwo2 welcome!

@Angelselevenx I'm sorry for your struggles ❤️ you're welcome here to vent and share whatever you might be feeling. Sometimes I think it's better not to 'try' with the tests and stuff. We were going to take that approach at least if not testing things, I ended up discussing it more with DH and we decided I'll test LH (can't do BBT at the moment, I'm sleeping so terribly and inconsistently 🤷🏻‍♀️) and we'll DTD every other day.

Speaking of LH tests, I've had some very funky negatives in the past 10 days, stronger and weaker etc. not sure what to make of them at all! Usually it's pretty clear cut but I suppose after the disruption to my system I can't expect normality!

Kellyaust · 03/07/2023 07:57

@Halpmer I've woke up with my head a little clearer today but then had a jump in LH on my opk so I'm now confused... I'm only on CD4... What do you think? I knkw it's not positive but never get such strong opk so early... Little worried

TTC a Rainbow...
Halpmer · 03/07/2023 08:44

@Kellyaust I'm baffled with my OPKs, this is what's happening to me also, maybe it's just normal after what we've gone through? Test again later also as FMU is usually not recommended for LH tests

@Kellyaust ooh just responded on your other thread. Just to say, it's possible you may ovulate earlier this month. My first cycle after my MMC was shorter than usual then overcompensated this month and didn't ovulate until CD17 🤷🏼‍♀️ I don't think it's particularly anything to worry about. Just your body getting back into gear and hormones normalising etc. Sending hugs.

Kellyaust · 03/07/2023 09:05

@Halpmer yes maybe it is normal glad to know it's not just me 💖

@SnookyPook yes thank you I'll keep an eye on it see what happens but definitely my cycle looks a lot shorter I usually bleed for 5 to 7 days n seems I've stopped today 🤔

Mummytobe2023 · 04/07/2023 21:24

Hi everyone, is it ok if a join too? I had a MMC in late April for which I had to have a D&C due to two failed rounds of medical management. We had a heartbeat at 6+4 but a scan at 9+3 showed baby had stopped growing at 7+2 with a 9+2 sack. My cycle has been rubbish since but really ready now to start trying again for our 🌈

Halpmer · 05/07/2023 07:03

@Mummytobe2023 absolutely, welcome! Sorry for your loss, the experience sounds terrible it's heartbreaking enough without medical management failing 😣. Hopefully, this thread will see your rainbow 🌈 in!

Still no period here, odd spotting here and there but I think that could just be from DTD every other day 😅. Also, I thought it best to check I'm testing negative after my loss and I am which is good (sad, but I'm focusing on the new beginning - or trying to). I read that some studies found that taking folic acid can help conceive quickly and I'm on the prescribed dose (to make sure neural tube has the best chance of proper development), so hopefully that gives us a boost.

Got my appointment through for my consultant appointment too, I think as a debrief from the TFMR and also to put plans in place for future pregnancies - it's on the 26th of this month which is much sooner than I thought it would be, so that's also a positive!

Decided I'm testing ovulation every day (unless I get my period) just to try get a sense of what's going on in my body!

Mummytobe2023 · 05/07/2023 07:57

Thanks @Halpmer for the welcome. I was actually thinking of ovulation testing every day too at least to try and figure out what is going on! I was using CB when I got pregnant the first time, any recommendations for cheapies to use every day until cycle settles down a bit?

Halpmer · 05/07/2023 08:12

@Mummytobe2023 I've never used the CB ones, especially the smileys (that would stress me out 😂). I bought Femometer ones from Amazon £16 for 50 LH tests and 20 HCG tests 🤷🏻‍♀️. I used them to conceive twice before too!

OP posts:
SnookyPook · 05/07/2023 13:07

@Mummytobe2023 I've also never used CB - like @Halpmer I think they would stress me out a bit! I've just always used the cheap OneStep ones off Amazon (LH and HCG tests available). They've helped me get pregnant twice!

sunflower1988 · 05/07/2023 15:45

@Mummytobe2023 I used the premom ones as they come with an app where you can upload photos of your tests - I like stuff like that but it's a bit of a faff!
Just found out AF has come so feeling rubbish, just bought a bottle of rose and the clear blue ovulation tests to treat myself 😅
Is anyone else shook by how expensive pregnancy tests are😳 I need to get a hold of myself and stop testing all the time!

ChipAndDip · 05/07/2023 17:39

Hi all, hope everyone’s ok.

I’m now CD10 of first letrozole cycle and starting to get more CM than I usually would at this point 👀 Hope it’s a good sign! Started DTD yesterday and will try for every other day until ovulation is confirmed.

@Halpmer great news that you have your consultant appt so soon! I hope you get your period soon 🤞

@Kellyaust how are your LH levels looking now? I’ve never tested that early in my cycle so would have no idea what’s normal!

@sunflower1988 I think that wine and clear blue ovulation tests are a great treat! Wine for now, tests for later haha. Sorry that you’re feeling down about AF 😞

Kellyaust · 05/07/2023 18:53

@Halpmer

Kellyaust · 05/07/2023 18:54

@ChipAndDip they've gone back down to where they should be now... Found that so strange dunno what made me test 🤔😂 good luck I'm on CD6 🤞

Halpmer · 06/07/2023 12:29

Had a really strange pain this morning, sharp and crampy - quite strong - a bit of spotting here and there but nothing that would even be that noticeable if I wasn't looking out for it. LH tests are negative, varying slightly in faintness (today's slightly darker than yesterday's but not by much). Honestly, not the foggiest where I'm at. Hoping there's either a period, a peak LH test, or a positive pregnancy test soon 😂 I don't care which one it is at this point, just something that's not this total nothingness 😂.

How's everyone doing?

OP posts:
SnookyPook · 06/07/2023 13:01

Oh @Halpmer you sound in complete limbo! I absolutely get the 'wanting something to happen' just so you know where you stand! Hopefully you get some clarity soon. Sorry I can't remember but have you had a period yet since your loss?

I'm on 8dpo 👀 really don't know how I'm feeling. Have had a couple of symptom spotting moments but trying to keep it real as they could all be pms too (why are they so similar?!?) Time will tell...

Halpmer · 06/07/2023 13:08

@SnookyPook ah you're also in limbo (or TWW rather). The waiting game is such a pain, I have no patience for this. I haven't had a period since, we were going to wait until it had come and gone before TTC but couldn't wait as we're so desperate for another baby!

I would obviously love it if we'd somehow been successful this first cycle, but more realistically expecting my period to arrive. I'm like 34 days into this first 'cycle', 2 LH tests that were strong negatives as I took them at random times, so could've ovulated or tried and failed 🤷🏻‍♀️ so hopefully something will happen soon.

SnookyPook · 06/07/2023 13:11

It's so tough isn't it. I was amazed at how strong my urge was to get pregnant again after the loss. Even with all the anxieties and uncertainties attached. Hopefully our little rainbows will come along very soon 🤞🏻🌈

Halpmer · 06/07/2023 16:12

Good news! My period has arrived (I think) - tentative 🎉 😂

OP posts:
Halpmer · 06/07/2023 16:14

@SnookyPook I'm really surprised at the urge also, and my husband's too as I really thought it would have had the opposite effect on him. Our rainbows are in the making, I know it. 🌈 ❤️

SnookyPook · 06/07/2023 16:25

🥳🥳 Congrats on AF! Its a relief isn't it for your body to be 'back to normal' and things doing what they're meant to be doing. CD1... You never know, it might be the first official day of your next pregnancy...!

Love the positivity 😊 they're on their way 🥰🌈

sunflower1988 · 06/07/2023 16:26

@Halpmer that's good news! With my furthest along MC I had a bizarrely long cycle,it took me 3 months of trying afterwards and then we conceived my little girl 👧 ❤️ I think it takes a bit of time for your body to recover after what it's been through xx

Kellyaust · 06/07/2023 17:18

Congrats on the AF @Halpmer ....i must admit though mine hit me hard I was kind of relieved to know where my cycle was at again... So once that's out the way we are off on our rainbow mission again 🤞 for this cycle!
