1DPO and starting the TWW - who's with me?

Third cycle ttc #1, 2nd cycle using opks.

Ovulated yesterday (peak on Wednesday) and dtd Wednesday night.

I've got 23-25 day cycles and seem to have a 11 day luteal phase, so due on the 30th.

Anyone else around the same dpo wanting to ride the tww out together?

Hoping to hold off on testing until I'm 10dpo at the earliest, but we'll see.

Gearing up for the symptom spotting to begin in a week or so, even though I know I shouldn't.

Hi to everybody else who has joined the thread! I definitely had ovulation pains early this morning and DTD this evening, so feeling like we’ve given ourselves a good shot… is there any point having another go tomorrow or will the window have passed? I’m not sure if ovulation pains mean it’s happened or that it’s coming. Does anybody know?

Sending everybody loads of patience for the two week wait. Will you all be waiting for AF or are you onto tests ASAP? Haven’t decided our approach yet ☺️

Keep baby dancing over your ovulation baby making is fun after all 😂🙌 well I can only say what's happened to me I definitely ovulated Saturday and I had cramping 2 days later , I always say I'm going to wait till af but always give in and test 😂 xx

Pastaf0rbreakfast · 22/05/2023 22:00

@dcrxcm not sure if ovulation pains means it’s happened or coming but sometimes I have pains for 2 or 3 days. As far as I know, the egg lasts for 24 hours after ovulation so I would keep DTD if you want to. As @Amy95 mentioned, it is supposed to be fun but it sometimes tricky to remember that when you are focusing on making a baby as well as just enjoying yourself.

I totally agree when we went through the week of baby dancing one night we were both so tired from work and had a break , but next day we were back to trying again , never make it a challenge and don't be to hard on yourself , making a baby is the fun part 🙌🤞 xx

@LeopardLover I think at least I’ve felt ovulation pains but maybe my mind is tricking me! I have been doing OPKs and peaked yesterday (though tbh it was hard to tell if that was morning or evening) and woke up this morning OPK back to low and cramps so I’m guessing that was it

@Pastaf0rbreakfast pains for 2-3 days! Wow. To be honest I think we’re both a bit tired from DTD in amongst everything else, I am beginning to see that it must be quite tricky to sustain the effort if you’ve got lots of other things going on (holidays? Work trips? Etc)

@Amy95 you are very wise! Has to stay fun, doesn’t it?! Conception DTD is a different vibe to the usual, we definitely do not normally go for it quite so much day to day so this is a bit of a change for us! Imagine we can’t be alone there 😊

It really does otherwise I just get fed up and don't want to do it 😂 he's the same , we both have the same mindset and also know what we both want , so we just make it as fun as we can 😂 xx

@dcrxcm I never had ovulation pain before having DS but now I get a feeling similar to a stitch or trapped wind that comes and goes for a few days.

Totally understand finding it exhausting, and it’s definitely a bit of a different vibe when ttc. We thought it was tricky to keep up with when you have busy lives before, now we have a toddler it’s even more difficult as we have to be relatively in the mood, have nothing more pressing to get on with, and DS has to be asleep, so a lot of things have to line up for us to get the opportunity! Much easier when ovulation falls on a weekend!

Hi I ovulated last Tuesday so I'm 6 DPO. Lost count on what cycle were on, suppose about 9 but I was pregnant which miscarried at 7 weeks in Jan and the following cycle was a chemical. Very much not holding out much hope at the moment, but we shall see, maybe this is our month.

Amy95 · 23/05/2023 10:26

Morning ladies is it normal to have more cm after ovulation I'm currently 3dpo and got weird cm ?xx

Your 3 days ahead of me I'm so jealous 😂 oh I'm sorry to hear 🥺 positive thinking our time is coming 🥰🙌xxx

naggy095 · 23/05/2023 13:02

@Amy95 hey, I think creamy CM is normal after ovulation but I wouldn't know as I never really get CM apart from the egg white type around ovulation 😂

I literally never ever ever get cm , so was a shock yesterday and today 😂 I feel the 2ww is dragging 🙄😂

naggy095 · 23/05/2023 13:45

@Amy95 it really does! I remember I was consumed by it when ttc my first, I'm trying to take it a bit easier this time round 😅 I'm going away over the weekend and not back till the 29th so I have no choice but to wait till I'm 13dpo to test
Have you thought about when you're going to test?

Of course you can all join, the more the merrier!

So sorry to hear about your previous losses @BudgetBuster , I've got my fingers crossed for you for this cycle!

It is all very exciting isn't it @Amy95 , its only my second cycle tracking so I'm still in the 'honeymoon phase' so to speak 😅

@winterbabyrose are you using LH strips/temping at all or just the app? The 14 days before period ovulation thing is an average, so many ovulate later or earlier than the apps predict. I actually only have an 11 day luteal phase so if I were to go off the apps, I'd be a few days out. I'd definitely recommend tracking lh for at least a couple of cycles, so you at least have an idea of your luteal phase and ovulation symptoms, etc. It's really helped me understand my body and cycles better.

If you really are 1-3dpo it'll just be a bug or progesterone related. Everything ive read so far says you can't have hcg related symptoms until after implantation which is 6dpo at the absolute earliest. I'm telling myself this constantly to stop from symptom spotting and driving myself mad 😅

Not using LPKs or anything, just simply hoping for the best tbh!

I'm pretty sure I ovulated on Thursday, and we DTD on Wednesday and Friday. So technically I am 5dpo. I'm pretty sure the nausea was a sickness bug as I was rough yesterday.🙃

Highly doubt we will be lucky the first cycle, as didn't get much chance to DTD as I've been on antibiotics and woke up Saturday morning with a yeast infection as I result of the antibiotics... so that's fun lol.😩But I guess I will have to wait and see after this TWW!

XenaTheWarriorPrincess · 23/05/2023 17:47

You never know @winterbabyrose , it only takes one time so could happen first try!

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage and chemical @Hellsbells89 , fingers crossed for a sticky bean this month.

@Amy95 CM can be sticky or creamy after ovulation and for the average woman gets sticker and more scant as you get closer to your period. If you know what's normal for you, you can track any changes.

@dcrxcm ovulation pains can happen before, during or after ovulation, so you should definitely dtd the day after them as well. My ovulation (ovary) pains happen at the same time as my peak usually, then some mild period like cramping the next day. Either could be actual ovulation, no way to know for sure really without temping (which I don't do due to my sleep cycles being a bit all over the place).

Feeling good today, 5dpo and normal pms symptoms starting to creep in. Mild cramps are beginning and can feel the beginnings of breast tenderness. I know it's just progesterone-based stuff as too early for hcg symptoms l, and it's normal for my cycle.

I'm definitely being hyper aware of my pms symptoms, want to log everything I can the first fee cycles so I know what's normal and what isn't. Even without ttc, it's pretty cool to get to know my body. Weird we never really pay much attention until we're ttc.

Tiny pink spot when wiping just now, and small amount of slight brown-tinted CM when wiping earlier.

May be a smidge too early for IB (6 dpo now, 7 if i ovulated the same day as my peak instead of next day), but if it's not at least I know it's a normal thing for me as I've never noticed any spotting before a week before AF (noticed it twice previously, both times about 3 or 4 days before period started).

So, either IB or normal cycle stuff that I can make sure I don't have false hope/obsess over if it happens again in the future!

Hi all! I’m on DPO 2 and already the sleepless nights thinking about whether my tummy rumbling is a symptom (it’s hunger it’s nearly 1am after all).

DD is 1 years old and I’m turning 34 this summer so I want to start trying as it may take some time!

XenaTheWarriorPrincess · 24/05/2023 06:33

It definitely is @Amy95 , wish I could just jump forward in time so I could know either way 😅

Unfortunately, seems I may be getting a uti. Keep weeing every like 45 mins or so and tiny bit of pain when I do, so not IB just a lovely UTI.

How are you feeling today?

My sister when she was pregnant that was her first symptom 😂 I'm feel good tired but obviously thats from my 4.30 wake up call for work 🤦🏼‍♀️ so when do people normally start testing and are you 7dpo today ?xx

XenaTheWarriorPrincess · 24/05/2023 07:28

I'm either 6 or 7 dpo today.

Depends on the person. Advise is generally not to test until you miss a period for the most accurate results, but no one has that willpower 😅

Takes at least a couple of days after implantation for hcg to rise enough to be detected on a sensitive test, so from 10dpo is a good rule of thumb if you want to early test.

The downside of early testing is potential false negatives (as it can take a good few days for hcg to rise enough to be detected for some women) and knowing about chemical pregnancies (very early loss where implantation failed).

I'm early testing until/unless I see evidence that we can conceive, then if it's a chemical I'll just test after AF late from then on. Testing from Sunday.

Only 2dpo here and it’s already dragging! I think if and when I actually get pregnant it will fly by with also looking after a toddler.

Like everyone I guess, I just want to know either way! I feel really uneasy in the 2ww but I think that is partly anticipation/not knowing which way it will go, and also the fact the everything else in near future is so uncertain: will we be trying next month? Will I be pregnant at that event in 2 months time?

I’m not a fan of not knowing and being able to plan, so I find it unsettling but also know that it’s a good lesson on relaxing and letting things go a bit.

Hope you aren’t in too much pain @XenaTheWarriorPrincess

I'm 4dpo today and wow is all I can say 😂it's going so slow .... No I like to know what's going on aswell , the not knowing scares me , but we will get our times soon xx

XenaTheWarriorPrincess · 24/05/2023 08:12

I tracked with opk @Amy95 so can't be 100% when I actually ovulated as I don't temp, but it gives me a good idea.

Some Ovulate a day or two after the peak, some less than 12 hours after, and I believe some (rarely) before the peak so it's definitely not an exact science. Generally 24-36 hours after on average.

Feeling hopeful, but I know it's only my second cycle properly trying (wasn't preventing for a few months but only starting tracking with opk last cycle), so my expectations aren't super high.

I'm 32, overweight and with short cycles, so I know it could take a few attempts but I'd be chuffed if it happened this cycle!

How long have you been trying?
