Hi ladies

I thought I’d create this thread if anyone wants to jump on.

I have a little boy who was 2 in April šŸ’–

we decided in March to start trying for baby #2 and we were delighted to get pregnant that same month! Unfortunately we lost the baby at the end of April at 6w 4d

The MC is completed and I have taken an OPK this morning which looks to be really high. Not quite peak but definitely high which is just great that I’m ovulating again! I didn’t know what would happen. We both feel ready to try again this month so will be going for it.

Whether you’re TTC baby #1 #2 #3 etc you’re welcome to jump on ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø

@RegardingPersephone argh! I know what you mean. Poor men definitely feel the pressure too. I feel like that’s quite a taboo subject for men too.

@DmcinT Well I can’t have the blood tests until 30th May because I’ve booked a slot. But the doctor did say that I wait for a week to hear back about results. If they don’t ring me with any clear issues after the week then she said that I should ring the GP surgery back to talk about next steps. She was very thorough and she could see that I hadn’t been on the pill since January 2020, I don’t smoke, healthy weight etc. Had to answer some questions like that to be seen by fertility because there’s certain criteria they want you to meet. So that’s all in my favour. I’m a healthy weight and not too stressed (well work is but I’ve learnt over the years to compartmentalise it). I was honest and said that I like a couple of glasses of wine at the weekend. Also, I’m 34 and neither myself or my husband have got any kids so that was a question too. Not sure why? Maybe it’s to put you on a list of priority?

DH actually has a phone consultation on Saturday morning with his GP too which is a big deal for him because he’s very embarrassed about it all. Tough for men too. We’ve decided we want to keep our worries private for now so this forum is a good outlet for me.

RegardingPersephone · 18/05/2023 22:11

Thanks all for your thoughts. We've had a good talk about it and it's okay now. Not going to push for dtd and might stop testing for ovulation if this month isn't successful. Think it was stressing me out too much. It is so hard for men especially with society telling them to be strong about everything!

Freddie15VES · 18/05/2023 22:40

@RegardingPersephone glad you had a good chat! I know my partner definitely doesn’t like to feel like he’s just a baby making machine - they’re sensitive souls sometimes! They just need a little lovin’

Hey ladies,
This is my 2nd cycle of TTC after a 20wk loss of our girls in Nov '22 my temps are looking good however for the first time ever I've had spotting every morning from 7DPO to today 11DPO (except yesterday) I know implantation can happen around now however my spotting is bright red and not sure what that means. It's not heavy at all and leaves nothing on pads. I haven't tested yet as I really don't want to see a BFN however thinking I might just bite the bullet and teat tomorrow. Any advice??

So, 5 weeks today since miscarriage and still no AF so went and bought a pregnancy test, BFP! I'll be honest I don't feel particularly excited I actually feel scared, I'm just sort of expecting the worst, hoping for the best to be honest... I probably won't bother referring to the midwife for a few weeks this time. I know statistically it's unlikely I'll have 2 consecutive miscarriages and this time I'm on Levothyroxine to bring my TSH levels down but it's a weird bittersweet feeling šŸ˜•

SnookyPook · 19/05/2023 14:42

@WhiteHorse92 ah congratulations! I'm going to be excited on your behalf. I know the anxiety and disbelief are bound to be top right now but this is a fresh pregnancy and right now, in this moment, you are pregnant. So I will celebrate that 🄳

Meanwhile, 5 weeks post loss here too and my AF has just appeared today. Bittersweet. Mostly relieved that it means I'm ovulating again etc. Part of me is slightly frustrated not to have fallen straight away but aware that is a bit daft! Seeing it as a reset.

DmcinT · 19/05/2023 16:49

@WhiteHorse92 huge congrats, I know it must feel surreal and a bit worrying but it’s such wonderful news too so try enjoy these wee momentsšŸ„°ā¤ļø

@CHUTNEY91 could very well be implantation, only way to know is to bite the bullet and testšŸ™ˆ everything crossed for ušŸ¤žšŸ½

@SnookyPook ah I know exactly how u feel, it would be lovely to fall straight away and I’d myself convinced I had until af arrived Monday but as u say it’s a good reset too so we have to take the positives. Hope ur doing ok x

Skyla01 · 20/05/2023 13:25

Hi, sadly joining this chat. I had a mmc just over two weeks ago. Got a negative pregnancy test yesterday. Still bleeding but very light now. Congrats to those with bfps.

@CHUTNEY91 so sorry for your loss. Bad enough a mmc at 12 weeks but to get to 20 is really tough.

I'm not planning to use opks, but those who have did any of you have very light bleeding still but ovulate? I've had ewcm the last day or two, but thought it was too early for my body to be ovulating already.

Dreamer88 · 20/05/2023 14:25

@Skyla01 so sorry to hear that. Xxx

RegardingPersephone · 21/05/2023 12:50

@WhiteHorse92 Congratulations! I had a loss last month too so totally understand.

Currently 4dpo and no desire to test at all (not that I would this early!). Think I'm enjoying just not knowing and not feeling the pain of it being negative. Felt really desperate to fall on this month and still hoping but we shall see.

Had some cramping and a bit of pulling a couple of days ago but that could have just been ovulation 🤷

Freddie15VES · 21/05/2023 14:35

Right ladies!!!! AF has finished so I am officially back on the horse. I’m determined to test and find my peak this month using OPKS but I am still a bit clueless on how to use them? I finished AF yesterday so when should I start testing, how many times a day? With fmu?!

OP posts:
DmcinT · 21/05/2023 14:41

@Freddie15VES we are very similar timings I think. I got af Monday and finished it Friday so I’m thinking I’ll start testing on Wednesday (CD10) I’m going to use the strips straight after work 4/5pm and the clearblue smilie face ones with fmu and once I start to see a rise on strips I’ll test 4/5pm and 10pm.
What’s ur plan? fingers crossed we both catch it this monthšŸ¤žšŸ½

RegardingPersephone · 21/05/2023 14:53

@Freddie15VES You normally start around 5 days after af. I use the premom app to guide my testing. Generally people say second morning urine is best and you need to have held it for three hours. If you know roughly when you ovulate then you start testing twice a day a week before but if you don't know I'd say test morning and early evening daily until you find your peak. Some people get a peak that lasts a couple of days, some last a few hours. Peak is when your line is as dark as control or darker. You then ovulate 24-36 hours after the peak. I just use internet cheaper tests in bulk from Amazon.

emmatcc1 · 21/05/2023 14:59

@Freddie15VES I used opks for the first time and got my peak. I usually ovulate between cd11-14. As it was my first time I started testing when my af finished with smu. On cd9 I started testing with smu and tmu. On cd11 my evening test was a bit darker on cd12 I started with fmu and got higher reading, I tested midday again(3pm) and got a peak the test line was darker than control. At 7pm I tested again and it got lighter but still positive. Cd13 still positive am and pm. Cd14 I ovulate around late morning (cervix closed). So if you don’t have a sudden surge I would recommend start testing 2 days before suspected ovulation and to test twice when lh starts rising.

emmatcc1 · 21/05/2023 15:11

Also before I tested I did a 3-4 hours hold with minimal liquid intake.

Freddie15VES · 21/05/2023 17:29

Thanks guys! When I tested using the smiley clear blue ones with my little boy yearsssss ago I hit my peak on cd 9… I just checked. That’s mad!! So I guess I best start testing tomorrow?! How can it be that soon?! Maybe I logged it wrong on the glow app šŸ¤” and maybe I should just get a smiley clear blue again instead of the cheap strips!

How are we all doing?

Had some cramping today that feels like it felt last time at this point. 5dpo today. Trying not to hope but part of me can't help it.

Dreamer88 · 22/05/2023 20:30

@RegardingPersephone I thought I felt my boob twinge before but I’m only 3 DPO so I’m probably just imagining it!

HopeAndStrength · 22/05/2023 21:15

Hi everyone, hope you're all OK and dont mind me joining.
I had a M/C in March, period returned in April, and have been TTC in May.
Not sure if my cycle has returned to normal, but I think AF is late, and I'm experiencing some strange twinges and pulling sensations in my abdomen. Trying to hold off another day or two before I test as I don't want to get my hopes up! It's hard to be patient though...

RegardingPersephone · 22/05/2023 21:33

@Dreamer88 šŸ˜‚ I've been there! You never know as all the symptoms are so similar to pms!

Welcome @HopeAndStrength ! Fingers crossed for you šŸ¤ž That is how I felt last time and it was positive.

SnookyPook · 22/05/2023 23:26

Ooh lots of healthy baby dust to those of you in the tww. I'm still finishing up my first AF since the loss so hoping I'll be ovulating within a couple of weeks and then joining you all on this crazy ride again... Hopefully with better outcomes for us all this time! šŸŒˆšŸ’•šŸ˜Š

DmcinT · 23/05/2023 17:48

@HopeAndStrength welcome along and sorry to hear about your loss. It really is mad the amount of ppl in the same boat. I hope ur doing okā¤ļø
did u end up testing? I have everything crossed for u šŸ¤žšŸ½šŸ¤žšŸ½

im starting to enter my fertile window Thursday, I’ll not lie I’ve enjoyed the last week of not peeing on sticks and obsessing about every twinge but here we go again, this day next week I’d say I’ll be in the TWW again!!
@Freddie15VES did u start testing yet?

Freddie15VES · 23/05/2023 20:38

@DmcinT yes! I’m doing 2 a day. Once in the morning around 11am then again around 7pm. Also just having sex every other day šŸ˜‚

7dpo today and just ordered pregnancy tests to come tomorrow. Feel a bit sick. Kinda don't want to know an answer.
