Hi ladies

I thought I’d create this thread if anyone wants to jump on.

I have a little boy who was 2 in April šŸ’–

we decided in March to start trying for baby #2 and we were delighted to get pregnant that same month! Unfortunately we lost the baby at the end of April at 6w 4d

The MC is completed and I have taken an OPK this morning which looks to be really high. Not quite peak but definitely high which is just great that I’m ovulating again! I didn’t know what would happen. We both feel ready to try again this month so will be going for it.

Whether you’re TTC baby #1 #2 #3 etc you’re welcome to jump on ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø

Feeling quite low today. Had to ring the docs to confirm my booking in appointment was cancelled. It should have been on Wednesday.
Peak ovulation is on its way based on previous cycles and lh tests and looking like I'll ovulate on Wednesday which is a bit bitter sweet.

SnookyPook · 15/05/2023 20:22

@DmcinT any chance it could be implantation? But at the very least, at least you know where you're at if it's AF and that it's all systems go for next cycle! Still no idea where my cycle is at! Would love a period (hah! Never thought I'd be saying that!)

@RegardingPersephone those milestones are so tough. I'm a bit down as it would have been my 16wk midwife appointment this week... 😌 It's really poignant for me looking back to my booking in appointment too as without knowing it, baby had already stopped developing when I went to it. And I was so full of hope and chatting away to the midwife šŸ’”

Although it as as you say, bittersweet, it's good to know that your body is readjusting after the loss. Will you be trying to get pregnant again yet or are you wanting to wait a while longer? Big hugs xx

RegardingPersephone · 15/05/2023 20:31

@SnookyPook Sorry to hear you're in a similar position. All the milestones are awful and you don't want to say them out loud to others as they're just getting on with life. Every Saturday I'm like 'would be x weeks now'. Literally every woman I'm close to is pregnant and I would have been close to them so we'd all have babies around the same time. Sorry very woe is me at the moment!

We are trying again but I think the possibility of it not working this month is hitting me as I face the tww again.

How are you doing?

SnookyPook · 15/05/2023 22:19

@RegardingPersephone I'm ok thanks - a little impatient not to know what my body is doing and just hoping AF or some sign of ovulation occurs soon! Feeling ready to try again so hopefully it won't all drag on too long. X

DmcinT · 15/05/2023 18:46

Well I had a bit of blood when I wiped just now so I’d say it’s finally AF arriving.. meaning I would have ovulated that time 12 days ago I reckon but didn’t catch it unfort.

such a rollercoaster being back to CD1 after 4 months+ of no periods but as u have said @Freddie15VES it’s good to know where ur body is and all we can do now is prep for 2 weeks time. ā¤ļø

oh I’m sorry if AF has arrived. I was sure I could see second lines on those tests and they had definitely gotten darker from the day before!

DmcinT · 16/05/2023 16:16

@Misspotterscat deff AF today so back to trying in the next few weeks. In a way it’s nice to know things have reset and I ovulated when I thought 2 weeks ago so that’s a positive

hope everyone is doing ok and at least we have each other for the next round ā¤ļø X

RegardingPersephone · 16/05/2023 20:01

Positive opk today! Need to persuade dp to dtd now as we did it yesterday and he is tired šŸ˜…

Misspotterscat · 16/05/2023 20:12

11dpo and just got this. I am really scared to get my hopes up.

@Misspotterscat congratulations!

Freddie15VES · 16/05/2023 20:37

Ahhhhh! @Misspotterscat congrats!! Not sure if it helps but I always say to myself that not letting yourself be excited doesn’t stop bad things happening you just ruin that moment for yourself! Be excited and think positive! šŸ’–

@RegardingPersephone hahahaha good luck! I wish my dp would get tired I swear he’d do it all the time if he could šŸ’€

Misspotterscat · 16/05/2023 20:45

thank you @Freddie15VES @Dreamer88.
@Freddie15VES you're right, I worried the whole time last time and I miscarried so I am going to really try and be positive this time.

DmcinT · 16/05/2023 21:00

@Misspotterscat ahhh I’m so delighted for you, huge huge congrats, enjoy all these little moments, they are so precious ā¤ļøā¤ļø

WhiteHorse92 · 17/05/2023 13:05

4 weeks and 5 days post miscarriage and still no AF šŸ‘€. I thought it would arrive on Friday if I had a normal 28 day cycle. Going out on Friday so will pick up a cheap test I guess if still no AF. I've recently started taking Levothyroxine to bring my TSH levels down so thinking it's more likely either that or the miscarriage has messed my cycles up šŸ¤”

DmcinT · 17/05/2023 15:03

@WhiteHorse92 my af cane 6 weeks after D&C for MMC so it can deff send your cycle off. Hope it comes soon for u xx

SnookyPook · 17/05/2023 15:18

@Misspotterscat massive congratulations! Definitely try and enjoy the moment and this lovely positive news. Right now, in this moment, you are pregnant and that is wonderful šŸ’•

@DmcinT sorry it wasn't a BFP this time but love your attitude that you know things have reset and can trust your cycle a bit more again.

@WhiteHorse92 4wks3days post for me and no AF either. I believe normal range is easily up to 6wks and possibly longer for the first period after loss. But frustrating when you just want to get back to trying isn't it..! I'm trying to be zen and seeing it as my body knowing when it's ready to go for it again. I had period pains all last week so something must be happening. I guess things are just settling and getting back to normal still.

Dreamer88 · 17/05/2023 18:34

So I’ve just come back from seeing my GP. She was very reassuring but I am a little perplexed by all the things that are getting tested on my bloods. See image below. I can’t get a bloods slot until 30th May though so more waiting.

Although she did say to just keep doing what we’re doing. I don’t think I can even think about any more BDing! Haha

SnookyPook · 17/05/2023 21:33

@Dreamer88 wow looks like they're being really thorough and just checking pretty much everything bloodwise! I guess they are all the things that could have a direct or indirect impact on fertility? Hope it's made you feel a bit better to have that reassurance and to have started a ball rolling. Hopefully end of May will come round quickly and you can start to get some answers. Xx

Dreamer88 · 17/05/2023 21:57

@SnookyPook I know! At least it is a bit of a health check.
@DmcinT sorry to hear that AF came.

Freddie15VES · 17/05/2023 22:09

@Dreamer88 oh wow! She’s going for it with the tests isn’t she haha guess she might aswell look into absolutely everything though. Scary isn’t it how much can affect the female body in regards to getting pregnant 🤯 I used to think it’d be so easy when I was little haha like you’d have sex once no matter what time in your cycle and it’d just happen and be fine

I’m well into my AF now, so just hoping in a few days I’ll be good to start ovulation tracking and seeing what happens. Kind of scared to get pregnant again but excited at the same time

Hope you’re all doing okay!

So I got my surge yesterday and assume ovulation today but dh wouldn't dtd because of pressure and I think because of being upset still about the loss previously and being scared. Trying to be understanding but very frustrated now as feel we essentially lost our chance. We dtd the day before the surge and a few days before that so hoping that's enough but not very hopeful.

SnookyPook · 18/05/2023 08:32

@RegardingPersephone oh that's tough. Obviously our DHs have every right to process things too and have their own emotions but they really don't get sometimes how desperate you feel when it's that time of the month and you feel like you just want to do everything possible to maximise chances. It's actually quite heartbreaking to miss an opportunity and know it's now another month to wait. If you did it the days before though that's positive. Sperm live for up to 5 days so you're definitely still in with a chance! Still no sign of a surge for me and no idea where my cycle is up to. Trying so hard to be zen about it!

Freddie15VES · 18/05/2023 11:06

@RegardingPersephone aw it’s really hard but I’d say just listen to him and make sure he’s as much ready as you are šŸ’– it’s really disheartening when all you want is to be pregnant but I think men especially can bottle a lot of emotions up. Maybe try and have a saucy night where your focus isn’t on making a baby, show him that you still enjoy the sex part! That might help him feel like he’s not just there to perform. It’s hard for guys I think because they see us hurting and are scared to see that happen again!

DmcinT · 18/05/2023 17:35

@Dreamer88 that’s a great comprehensive list, it’s good to know they are looking into it all properly. What’s the next steps now did they say.

@RegardingPersephone That’s so so tough, there is obvs a pressure there for them to preform but please god dtd from the day before will work šŸ¤žšŸ½šŸ¤žšŸ½ it does become a bit mechanical around those few days I find, some days I couldn’t be bothered but know I need to.

im looking forward to a weekend (first in so long) not thinking of testing/ am I ovulating/ what’s a happening etc.. esp since next weekend we’ll be in the thick of my fertile window. I’ll be 11/12 dpo at a hen weekend then though šŸ™ˆ

DmcinT · 18/05/2023 18:36

also incase it helps anyone reading this, I ovulated when my hcg was 31 and got AF when it was 11. I’m back in next week again to check levels as they can’t release me until it’s under 5 even though I have af šŸ™ˆ
