Hello Ladies,
How is everyone doing? So, having panicked all Friday and over the weekend, I spoke to someone yesterday who said reiterated that eggs come up the whole time, but disappear very quickly. I kept refreshing the egg bank religiously and amazingly we now have some reserved and are waiting for more information about the donor! Obviously, this donor may not be the lady we choose, but it is hugely comforting that we found someone at all - and she matches pretty much everything we wanted.
Haven't heard back from the doctor about trying with my eggs again, but I suspect that, given my low egg count and age, he will repeat that the chances are very low with my own eggs. But, we were really only considering that route again if the donor eggs were going to take months.
Hopefully we'll like this donor and then the ball will officially be rolling!

@BertLiv great news!!!! Really happy for you! ❤️

I should have ovulated yesterday/today morning, so let's see..my last natural ttc before second EC

Marvellouslymadmum · 10/10/2023 20:15

@BertLiv ooh that's exciting, hopefully this'll be the one for you!!

BertLiv · 11/10/2023 12:33

@TT82 and @Marvellouslymadmum Thank you!

@TT82 Fingers crossed you ovulated and this is a lucky month!

BertLiv · 16/10/2023 08:59

Morning Ladies,
Hope everyone is well (and keeping warm!)?
Well, we chose our eggs on Thurs eve and so now the process has officially started. Now just waiting to hear what the next steps are! Excited and just want it all to happen quickly!

TT82 · 16/10/2023 14:13

@BertLiv oooooo exciting news!! Hope they will be fast now and no long waiting for you 🥰
I am 7dpo, no bbt dip or spotting 🙄 never get spotting anyway but so want these classic symptoms. I am on progesteron too, which messes all symptoms and my boobs are killing me already

GingerFox2021 · 16/10/2023 14:21

We had a call with a doctor regarding DE, looks like we are going ahead, omg!

BertLiv · 16/10/2023 17:18

@TT82 Thank you! I’m hoping it’s not too long now either. I should know my protocol tomorrow and then it’s just a case of waiting for the eggs! Sorry to hear your system is all messed up - but hopefully it’ll be good news!

@GingerFox2021 Exciting!

Kelb79 · 17/10/2023 18:48

Ooooooh I’m so excited for you lovelies!! It’s a huge step to go down the DE route but I’ve honestly never looked back once things got going. It’s the most amazing gift that has finally given me hope of a dream I thought I’d have to let go of ❤️❤️❤️
good luck!!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼👍🏼

Amberellaella · 18/10/2023 07:09

Morning all, mind if I join? I’m 41 and ttc #2. On cycle 3 after an mc (mmc discovered at 9wks, had medical management and then a D&C). It took 8 months to get pregnant last time so going to give it one more cycle after this one and then start IVF with PGT-A in Jan if no luck.

DD is 2.25 and we conceived her first month of trying!!

Supertrooper101 · 18/10/2023 08:11

Can i just ask, all those who are able to do ivf, egg doner, is ot a case of using savings or does your health care cover it? Also, what is a rough idea of doner egg in say spain or somewhere else abroad? Am 41 been trying 7mths now so clearly isnt going to happen 🤷‍♀️

TT82 · 18/10/2023 08:13

@Amberellaella hi, so sorry to hear you had mmc and potentially starting ivf. I am in a simikar bout, have two older kids, but this time lots of chemicals and also did first round of PGTA testing..no success so far. Process very cruel emotionally:(( Now on the 9dpo of my last cycle before second EC.. no symptoms so far, so looks like I will start this downregg pill next week 😞 (this btw I find the most difficult part of ivf..)
Lets hope by January you will have good news and don't need ivf! 🙏

Amberellaella · 18/10/2023 08:37

Thanks @TT82, and sorry to hear your PGT-A testing didn’t go well. Do you mind me asking how many embryos you had for testing? My AMH and antral follicle count both came back high for my age, so it is probably just a matter of egg quality for me. I’m optimistic that if I get enough embryos then one must surely come back euploid!

Fingers crossed you won’t need to start the downreg next week after all… I am a bit confused by that part as my consultant said one thing and the nurse said another, got a follow up call booked with the clinic (Care Manchester) to try and get a bit of clarity on what my specific protocol will be. It’s a lot isn’t it?

TT82 · 18/10/2023 08:59

@Amberellaella my hormones were also very good for my age, dr were relaxed, actually I was too! So we tried IUI (just to try something easier), but I cannot have multiples (kids premature both), so of course I got 2 eggs matured and they cancelled it. Then we decided only ivf. I didn't even know about PGTA! I read on this forum a lot and then said I only will continue if we do it. Then the clinic moved me to August where there was a space for PGTA.. So I actually wasted 6m almost 🤦🏻‍♀️ I got 8 eggs, all fertilised naturally and 4 got to 5d blastocysts. None of the 4 were good. It takes 4-6w for my hospital to test them too! So we sent a package anyway. This time they will increase the dose as said they expected more and also even dr was surprised none were good. And I am on tons of all these supplements from that famous book too 😳
But thes say each cycle is different, every woman with same hormones different etc. But after 2nd EC not sure I can do 3d.... So we will be discussing with my husband plan B. I am in Switzerland and DE not allowed...so if we decide to go ahead we need to go abroad.
Pill - when they shut down your ovaries...like mini menopause.. Some women ok, minority has very bad reaction- I am the one, almost divorced my husband. They regulate with it the start of ivf.. this time I will be till like 18th of November 😞

BertLiv · 18/10/2023 09:56

@Supertrooper101 Whether the NHS covers it, and how many rounds they cover, depends on where you are. This is our first round (our IVF round with my eggs was cancelled and so didn't count) and it's on the NHS as we are covered up to age 42. We only get one round covered, but the age limit is older than quite a few areas, luckily for us. Also, I don't think you can get it on the NHS if you have had any children, but I'm not sure about that. Not sure about Spain, I'm afraid!

So, AF has appeared this morning (albeit very minimally so far and no other symptoms) and so I guess I am now praying that our eggs arrive with the clinic before my day 21. Working on Friday being my proper day 1, that will mean they'll have to arrive within 4 weeks from when we chose them, and they say it takes 2-6 weeks, so keeping everything crossed! I'm not sure yet, but I'm worried that, if they don't, we'll be waiting another month... but I may be wrong, hoping to find out from the clinic today.

Kelb79 · 18/10/2023 11:22

@Supertrooper101 are you in the UK? in the UK healthcare doesn’t generally cover DE IVF. NHS covers IVF with certain area specific guidelines (postcode lottery 😐). Some companies private healthcare plans do cover both IVF and DE though 👍🏼
cost wise…. DE IVF in Spain is usually around €8-10,000 and is usually offered as a sort of guarantee package. I don’t know specific prices for other countries but Greece/Cyprus/Czech repub are all definitely cheaper and UK is more expensive.
something you really need to consider when you’re making your decision is the anonymity laws in each country.
For example, in the UK there is full transparency, you will choose your donor from photos and biogs and your child will be able to contact them aged 18. Anonymous donor is illegal. In Spain only anonymous donation is allowed so the clinic will choose your donor based on phenotype matching (how you look). You won’t have any details other than age and bloody type and your child won’t be able to contact them

TT82 · 18/10/2023 12:57

@Kelb79 can you see pictures or description of donor- like hobbies, education etc? Even though I am estern eurooean, I look like Spanish ir Greek more 😁, at least when young 🙈

Kelb79 · 18/10/2023 13:12

@TT82 not in Spain, no. You give photos to the clinic of you at various ages from birth upwards and they match you from their database of potential donors. It’s different there as donors are cycled specifically for you rather than in the UK where a donor will cycle and the eggs will be held in a bank.

Marvellouslymadmum · 18/10/2023 20:00

@GingerFox2021 oh that's good news!

@Kelb79 I personally cannot wait to get started! Hopefully we will be moving soon then I'll be on the laparoscopy waiting list soon so we can start straight after that!!

@Amberellaella hi and welcome, sorry to hear if your loss

@Supertrooper101 hi, I believe in the uk you can get de ivf but only in some areas and age restricted, I could be wrong, for us it will be savings and from what I can gather somewhere about the £6000-£7000 a round for de abroad in Prague, Greece etc obviously this varies and also you can get packages that reduce the cost too

BertLiv · 10/11/2023 08:59

Morning Ladies, how is everyone?
So, our eggs arrived at the clinic yesterday! Exciting but also frustrating as they arrived the day after my day 21 and so now we need to wait until next cycle to start. I was quite gutted/annoyed yesterday that they wouldn’t let me start one day later, but then realised that not taking a test on Christmas Day or Boxing Day might be a good thing! Now just need to wait for af to arrive and then we’ll have a timeline for my protocol.
Hope everyone else is doing alright! Xx

praying4babba · 10/11/2023 12:31

Hi everyone, so excited to hear the progression here! I have finally had a bleed after being put on the control pill for ten days as I was still showing down regulation from the Lupron , that would be six months from injection. My AMH test which I did two weeks ago is almost double what it was in Feb which blew my mind. They reckon the change in my diet and also CoQ10 600 mg per day . We have decided to try an ovulation induction a few times as I am not sure I can go through IVF again. Emotionally wrecked and still traumatized.

TT82 · 10/11/2023 15:45

@BertLiv most important they arrived and are there waiting..don't let delay to fog your happiness!
Also you are right re test on x-mas day... 🫣 Last year I did, was hoping I get positive naturally....it wasn't a x-mas present afterall, I was additionally devastated 🤦🏻‍♀️

TT82 · 10/11/2023 15:46

@praying4babba good news!! Hoping the induction will work ❤️

TT82 · 10/11/2023 15:48

No big updates from my side, I am still on downregg pill till Monday. I have developed hives, either too much medicine- vitamin snd this pill, or viral, or stress.. So itchy!!! Cannot sleep! Stopped all the vitamins apart from downregg.. Just hope I won't have reaction on menopour. Last time was ok, just this cycle tjis bad skin reaction to anything. Especially at night 😩

praying4babba · 29/11/2023 18:05

Hi everyone hope you are all keeping well! We are currently in 2ww after doing a medicated IUI with Menopur and then trigger as I am still currently in menopause. So while we wait for me to come out we thought we would try this . Was pretty easy compared to IVF , the 2ww is a lot more tolerable . I am not going crazy like i was going with IVF 2ww. My husband was even a tad worried about how I would cope. Day 7 piui, lots of cramps , dull back pain and just feeling completely wiped out but then again it is end of a very long year!!
Baby dust to all of you.
