@Kelb79 that's so amazing congratulations!! I'm going to go against the grain and say boy but probably totally wrong 😂 where did you go for your de in the end? You've probably said loads of times but I can't remember 🙄

YellowLoafers · 10/08/2023 15:59

Awwww @Kelb79 baby looks perfect! Congratulations, it’s absolutely wonderful news! And welcome to your new little puss too❤️ xx

GingerFox2021 · 10/08/2023 20:13

Congratulations! Enjoy your pregnancy..!

I’ve been for a while here, probably the last 2 years and/or more. Time to time I was thinking about DE but never dare to speak to my partner about that. Yesterday, all exploded and I told him how I feel. To my surprise, he agreed on DE without discussion. Now when I’m given the Green light to go, it all feels scary.. scary and exciting both..

99pctpractice · 11/08/2023 02:26

Awwww congratulations, @Kelb79, what a beautiful pic! And an amazing birthday present for you :). I'm rubbish at the nub theory stuff but going to make a guess for a girl as well...!

Fingers crossed for plain sailing from now on 🤞 are you getting nipt done or are you relying on it being de and so lower risk?

Our little (de!) girl arrived 7 weeks ago (4 weeks early!). She is doing brilliantly - I still can't believe she's here....

@99pctpractice oooooo she is so beautiful!!! 🥰 Huge congratulations!!!

TT82 · 11/08/2023 07:59

Hi all, another update from me. Today was told EC on Monday. Max I can have 9, if some catch up these days. Blood results all good, next cycle she will increase the dose as she expected me to react more.
Also they will do mild ivf, not to biopsy the egg twice- during sperm injection and PGTA testing, said sperm is very good, so no need.
I am fine with lower number as long as better quality, but who knows 🙏

Kelb79 · 11/08/2023 12:10

Thanks everyone! We’re over the moon! It feels so much more real now! I’m still so sick though! It’s getting very wearing 🫣🫣

@99pctpractice omg she’s beautiful!!! Massive congratulations! 🥳🥳❤️❤️❤️ awesome news!!! ❤️❤️❤️ well done 😁

@Marvellouslymadmum i’m with IVF Life in Alicante, they’ve been amazing! Can’t fault them!! 🙏🏼

@TT82 wishing you so much luck for Monday 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 that’s great numbers, especially with a quality over quantity approach ❤️ let us know how you get on xX

@GingerFox2021 yep! Been there!! Making the decision is so so scary! I took a long time to come to terms with it once it was decided even though I had been keen to go for it previously. But it’s good to really explore your feelings around it and take the time you need. I questioned it right up until the day that I saw my embryos, I’ve had zero doubts ever since ❤️❤️

GingerFox2021 · 11/08/2023 19:03

We discussed DE once again today. We will choose a clinic in Prague. Those who did DE abroad, how did you choose one? I’m looking into them, but no idea where to pay attention and what differences they could have as they look similar to me. Thank you.

October1979 · 11/08/2023 20:03

@GingerFox2021 Spain and Czech Rep have really good success rates. Spain is definitely no.1 but I chose prague in Czech rep which has similar success rates as they would have more donors with my physical characteristics to match me with. I considered success rates, flights, no of donors similar to me in appearance. Hope that helps x

@99pctpractice She’s beautiful! ❤️ Congratulations, such lovely news! xx

TT82 · 14/08/2023 11:15

Hi all, just an update, back from EC this morning. All went well, funny enough probably the best part of all this - you are out of control, sleeping:)
They collected 8 eggs, no idea how many mature.. they will call us only next Monday with full report on how many if any they took for PGTA...no intermediate calls! Oh maybe better this way 😬 Then next EC cycle in 6 weeks.., dr said she will increase the dose as with my hormones level can be more

Newlywedded · 14/08/2023 18:53

@TT82 Good number collection, I’ll keep my fingers tightly crossed for you and hope you get good news on Monday. Hoping you’re not too sore as well, I found the days after EC really rough! x

@Newlywedded Hi and welcome! 👋

ThesisthenaViva · 17/08/2023 18:19

Hey there ladies I'm nearly 40...mind if I join and ask for a bit of advice?
I am hoping someone might be able to help me. My OH and I have decided to start IVF in October. We've done fertility checks and everything is OK but owing to our ages 39 and 51 we have come to the conclusion natural conception might not happen for us.
Anyway, could anyone succinctly break down the initial stages? I've been advised not to transfer straight away and wait a couple of months. Is this normal? I have a call with the co-ordinator scheduled for next week but it's always nice to hear from others.
Also it would be good to know if there is a better time in the month to start or does it not matter? Sorry if this sounds like a ramble and thank you in advance.

TT82 · 17/08/2023 18:26

@YellowLoafers thank you!!!
They told me my phone appointment only on Thursday when dr has a slot, no updates till then!! 😫

TT82 · 17/08/2023 18:34

@ThesisthenaViva hi and welcome!
Cannot give lots of advice as a beginner myself in ivf 🙈
But definitely don't cross over the natural way!! Just maybe be ready to chemical pregnancies (mc before 6 weeks)...these are often and I wasn't ready mentally tbh..
Good you are starting ivf too (better early) and hope others can advise on all aspects.
From my side - I am doing first ivf to do PGTA testing as egg quality my issue...I am getting pregnant but not staying (I have two older kids). There are pros/cons genetic testing, so maybe read, research what you would feel best. They recommend if older than 40 and multiple mc or chemicals.. As you are only getting to 40 and no mc... maybe you don't need them yet?
Also with age we need to be ready for multiple egg collection and creating embryos and freezing them (till we are younger) then either genetically testing or doing frozen transfer of them, hoping for good result.

This journey I find very emotional, stressful, just be ready and kind to yourself ❤️ xx

ThesisthenaViva · 17/08/2023 19:53

Thank you very much @TT82 I am going to do the PGTA as well.
Wishing you all the best with your IVF journey and sincerely hope it is a success. Viel gluck!

TT82 · 21/08/2023 15:23

Hi, just a quick update. Dr has just called me (even though appointment was for Thursday only, so I started panicking).. all 8 eggs were mature and fertilised, 4 got to blastocysts and all were biopsied for PGTA 🙏 She needs to know if to send them (package was min 4) or we want to wait for next EC..
Test will last 4-6 weeks, I am planning to do another as odds of getting a normal genetixally not on my side...
What do you think, should I send? If next time i have less then would do another or just send.. Wasn't ready for this outcome, she said grading is average though, not great but doesn't mean they are abnormal

Trigger2018 · 29/08/2023 10:50

Hi all I am due my period tomorrow. I took this test. I think I can see two lines but I don't know if it my eyesight or if it is an evaporation line

Marvellouslymadmum · 29/08/2023 11:12

@GingerFox2021 my partner was the same, I didn't think he would go for it so easy but he's still of the mind he thinks it will happen eventually naturally.
Hopefully you can get moving on it and then it won't be so scary!

@99pctpractice she is absolutely beautiful! Congratulations

Welcome @newlywedded and @ThesisthenaViva sorry I have no ivf advice as got this far yet.

@TT82 what did you decide to do? All 8 mature and fertilised is good!

@Trigger2018 looks like a second line to me but did you read it within the correct time?

I haven't been on much as I'm just in limbo land - usual place for me! My last visit from af was 3rd July so I am cd53 🙄 thinking about asking the docs to check my iron levels again. I am all ready to start my vits again but didn't know if I should mid cycle so am waiting it out - again 🤦🏼‍♀️

TT82 · 29/08/2023 11:25

@Marvellouslymadmum hi, oh definitely contact your dr, is it usual for you long cycles? Mine with age got shorter 26-28 days max (DH says good for trying as more often 😆)

I have sent all 4 (4 got to day 5 blastocyst, which is apparently a very good outcome of fertilised ones). Results in 4-6 weeks only, but I am waiting for hospital to send me dates for second EC cycle..not waiting for genetic testing. I hoped it will be back to back collection but there's a waiting list and they will see what they can do 😒

TT82 · 29/08/2023 11:26

@Trigger2018 that's definitely positive to me!!!! ❤️
Fingers cross for official confirmation and that all goes well from there

Marvellouslymadmum · 29/08/2023 11:32

@TT82 hi, that's good that you got 4 good ones! Hopefully they'll sort out your next cycle quickly. My cycles are a bit on and off sometimes regular then the odd long ones thrown in but I have adenomyosis, suspected endometriosis and possibly slight polycystic ovaries. I'll attach the list of my cycles it makes no sense 😂
