Hey @Eirlys1986 , I’ve had this with Clearblue tests before & had thin blue lines. Sadly all have been evaps for me but I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Eirlys1986 · 11/05/2023 20:04

Thanks @FiddleLeaf I am 99%sure that’s what it is but having never experienced it wanted to check so it’s really helpful for you to comment thanks. I remember really not liking clear blue ones before and can’t remember why. I wanted to get first response ones but they were all sold out. I’ve got some boots early ones with the pink dye so I’ll just do one of those tomorrow morning.
This is a lesson to me and other serial pee on a stickers ! 😂

Mummyme87 · 11/05/2023 20:15

@Eirlys1986 ahh nightmare finding that test. Clear blue get the thin blue line evaps but yours is wide and a bit blue. Definitely do a boots pink dye in the morning. I mean I would do it now but ya know, I pee on every stick going

Eirlys1986 · 11/05/2023 20:19

😂 @Mummyme87 of course I’ve already bloody done it haven’t I and it’s negative! I’m glad I’ve put that to bed. Will try and exercise some decorum and wait 48 hours now till trying another boots pink dye on 11dpo. Naughty naughty clear blue and silly silly me for even letting my eyes land on the stupid thing an hour after I’d taken it. It’s in the bin now where it belongs so it can sit there outside and alone and think about what it’s done 😂

Muriel84 · 11/05/2023 20:33

There’s so much positivity and support on this thread ❤️ I’m feeling absolutely nuts with tiredness this eve, quite an emotional day. Alas this is not a pregnancy symptom for me, just a sign I need more sleep! @Eirlys1986 those tests are so bad for evaps! I don’t know how they can keep selling them. So I caved and did a test this eve just an IC which is meant to be 10miu but lots of the amazon reviews say they’re nowhere near that sensitive. Negative at 8dpo. I know that website you shared well @Eirlys1986 😂 I continue to be very pessimistic and feeling really quite sad about everything. Spurred on by a late night “secondary fertility” googling spiral. And some very odd pregnancy related vivid dreams. Again not unusual for me at all.

Muriel84 · 11/05/2023 20:35

@TheFanciestPants thats great you haven’t had spotting! I just checked my last two months I had it 9 and 10pm for a few days. So tomorrow and Saturday. 🤞🤞🤞

Eirlys1986 · 11/05/2023 20:43

@Muriel84 ah I’m sorry to hear about all the crappy negative feelings 😢 Hope you can do something nice and relaxing this evening to help you feel better. Well done for holding out to 8dpo, not entirely a suprise to be negative and more likely than not of course that this would be the case but I know that doesn’t necessarily stop the negative spiral. I really wish I didn’t have anymore of the stupid clear blue tests now, definitely won’t use them until very late dpo if I use them at all now.

Eirlys1986 · 11/05/2023 20:44

Actually….maybe to relax, I’ll have a bath in some unicorn tears later 🛀

TheFanciestPants · 11/05/2023 21:21

@Eirlys1986 @Muriel84 I am so sorry that your tests were negative, but it's still early days, so I will keep my🤞 for you. I know it's tough not to fall down a negative ttc rabbit hole, but the statistics and data are on your side ❤️ (even if it doesn't feel that way at all!).
I wonder if a bath of unicorn tears would also have other beneficial properties? I mean it would definitely be sparkly if nothing else 😘

TrudyProud · 11/05/2023 21:30

Sorry your tests came back negative @Eirlys1986 and @Muriel84 . It's early days yet so fingers crossed.

I only had a faint positive at around 11-14 DPO but exactly 5 weeks after AF I got 3+ weeks on a digital. I say this to say unless AF shows up you are still in .

Muriel84 · 11/05/2023 21:32

@Eirlys1986 😂that sounds like a lovely bath. I’m sure Lush do unicorn bath bombs. I think im just going to head straight to bed with a book now my son is finally asleep!

@TheFanciestPants thank you ❤️i think it’s partly tiredness making me feel full of doom. It is so easy to fall down the google rabbit hole!

Eirlys1986 · 11/05/2023 21:39

Thanks @TrudyProud for helping to keep the hope alive! I’m still feeling relatively positive despite the negative test tonight 👍🏻 Hope you are continuing to feel well x

Eirlys1986 · 11/05/2023 21:40

@Muriel84 enjoy the book and sleep tight! 👍🏻 x

Eirlys1986 · 11/05/2023 21:41

Thanks @TheFanciestPants i shall also keep my fingers and toes crossed 👍🏻

Mirla · 11/05/2023 23:50

@Muriel84 I hope you can get some decent rest soon and it fixes your brain chemistry! I struggle with that so much too.

I'll try to ignore tests tomorrow but that plan won't survive long depending on what time I wake up. If I'm lying in bed awake a while no way I'll manage to resist. Mind you, it's maybe good for me to manage expectations via them, possibly. Though I'll need to order more at some point soon ish.

Mrsspoon3 · 12/05/2023 08:13

Ah sorry to hear your test was negative @Eirlys1986! Fingers tightly crossed for the next one!!

Hope you’re feeling a bit better today @Muriel84!

The FF app has now got me down as having ovulated and being 3dpo! Very relieved and hope that’s correct. My temperatures have been all over the place, but I think some of it is because I’ve been having a terrible time at night with my little boy and not always getting much sleep before I do my bbt.
Im not sure what to do as I have tickets for Eurovision tomorrow (a lifetime ambition 😁) and don’t know whether to have a few drinks or not, as 4dpo is way too early to test, despite me having done so in the last haha

Eirlys1986 · 12/05/2023 08:21

@Mrsspoon3 thanks, amazing that you have tickets to Eurovision! I love it. It’s a really difficult decision as to whether to have a few drinky poos or not. There just isn’t going to be any online information supporting it as being a “safe” thing to do with ttc so it’s really a personal decision as to how you feel about it I guess. Perhaps imagine in your head how you will feel if you’ve had no drinks then eventually find out you aren’t pregnant (how miffed on scale 1-10) and then how you would feel if you had a few drinks then found out you were pregnant (are you the type of person who would massively worry or not?). A lot of women drink in early pregnancy with unplanned pregnancies, my 42 year old mother included who was happily necking lots of alcohol with her new husband on honeymoon and wondering why all the local food was making her vomit 🙈. I appear to be fine as a result… I think 😜

Mrsspoon3 · 12/05/2023 09:09

@Eirlys1986 Yeah I was so lucky to get them! I’m so excited! 😁 Yeah it’s a tough one. Last time I was ttc I didn’t drink at all during the 2 week wait as I’m always someone who likes to be on the safe side and would regret it if I drank and turned out to be pregnant, but I just feel like I’m unlikely to be pregnant on our first try this time and given my age, and this is a once in a lifetime event for me and I just want to let my hair down a bit. Not that I can’t enjoy it without alcohol obviously!! But I don’t really drink these days as I cosleep so it’s not safe, and I’d arranged to stay at my mums after Eurovision so I could have a few drinks.
Haha yeah I bet there’s loads like your mum who go on to have really healthy pregnancies, but I know I’m a massive worrier 🙈 Will have to have a think!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 12/05/2023 09:36

@Eirlys1986 did you test this morning?

@Mrsspoon3 For me personally I think there's a massive difference between downing strong cocktails and having 3-4 glasses of wine over several hours along with some water. Depends what you're comfortable with. It was the former I was asking about for the bank holiday, but actually I just did the latter and still had a good time.

@Muriel84 my period started in the night, so a 14 day luteal phase and only one spot of tinged cervical mucus (previously I was spotting from 9ish days post ovulation). So I'm not sure if that's ubiquinol, the acupuncture, or just my body naturally changing as this was my third cycle post breastfeeding 🤷‍♀️ either way I had bad period and back pains for a few days which was not fun

TheBirdintheCave · 12/05/2023 09:42

@Mrsspoon3 Go, drink and enjoy :) I had lots of cider, gin and wine in the week before I got a positive when I was pregnant with my son. He is now a very clever and chatty two year old. At the start of development the embryo gets its nutrients from the yolk sac rather than the mother anyway.

TrudyProud · 12/05/2023 10:00

@Mrsspoon3 have fun at Eurovision! Re the drinking it's definitely personal preference but for me I took the approach of "drink till it's pink".

I drank throughout my TWW for DD and this pregnancy. In early pregnancy (before 6 weeks I believe ) nutrition is from the yolk sac not mum as mum only starts providing nutrients once the placenta is formed.

I took this approach as I didn't want to be stressed out while TTC and effectively switching my lifestyle every 2 weeks until a BFP would make me hyper focused on ttc. I don't think there's a right or wrong approach you just need to do what's best for you

Muriel84 · 12/05/2023 10:39

@Eirlys1986 @TrudyProud @TheFanciestPants @Mirla @Mrsspoon3 thank you so much for your kind words ladies. Means so much to have such kindness from
women who understand. I did get a bit more sleep and I don’t feel quite as riddled with doom today! @Mirla yeah I just get miserable with fatigue! It really impacts my mood. I’m like a toddler!

@Eirlys1986 your mum sounds amazing! What a great story!

@Mrsspoon3 gosh that sounds fun! I echo what others have said. Go and have fun. I also “drink till it’s pink” and also got quite sloshed 5dpo with my son. I’d had two early losses the cycles before him, it was a glorious day weather wise and we were meeting with our friends for the first time since lock down in the park. I had soooo much fun and I needed to let my hair down. I also can’t see it has much impact that early on and he’s now also a very clever 2 year old. But yes it’s each to their own and no judgement either way. I think there is an awful lot of pressure on mums and mums to be. The book expecting better was mentioned above and I found this helpful in early pregnancy in making an informed decision rather than being overwhelmed by mum to be guilt! X

Muriel84 · 12/05/2023 11:37

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 sorry to hear your period has arrived and is painful. It seems your LP has lengthened and the spotting is better? Are your periods more painful than usual? Did you stop breast feeding at a specific point in your cycle? X

Eirlys1986 · 12/05/2023 11:37

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I have done two boots early pink dye tests this morning around 6:30 and again just now after throwing myself around at soft play for a couple of hours. Both have very faint lines present, so I am very very cautiously optimistic. We shall see if there is line progression over coming days or whether this may be a massive fluke/chemical. I trust this result a bit more as last nights boots result was definitely negative and no evap line whereas todays two tests definitely have a faint line with pink colour to them. Fingers crossed. It doesn’t come out well in the photos but I think I’ve convinced myself the line is ever so slightly darker now and it’s a lot more visible in real life.
Good news about your luteal phase now extending and the spotting settling down, 👍🏻 hopefully that pattern continues for you.
@Muriel84 my mum is hilarious, she confidently told the GP she was just certain she was having her menopause when her period didn’t come so she didn’t bother with a test and ended up presenting late after she’d missed a few cycles then went to the GP to discuss getting some HRT. What a numpty. Good luck if you are testing again today/tomorrow x
